Made it here! 😁
Pretty cool game. The movement felt jarring to use at first, but learning the keybind to slow it down helped a lot. I like the concept; it felt like playing the old Pokémon Snap. Sad I couldn't find one last guy, but all in all, it's a pretty cool take on the idea.
I love the cute creatures. I want a small version of each for my desk :) I found the vehicle goes very fast, so, it's a challenge to get all the creatures in one run. I finally managed on a third attempt. But I kinda had to memorize each location and snap to it. Overall a nice cozy game.
Feels like taking a zoo field trip. Nice game!
I was going to make a comment about the camera movement, and then I realised you could slow it down and zoom in and out hahah. overall quite a fun game. would of been cool to have more level but I get that would probably of been pretty hard in the time limit!
Nice game! I think that the raycast couldn't reach the blue critters in the water on the left at the begining of the track. I could only catch seven out of eight Critters. But good overall!
@wesel thank you! A little tip, some creatures have the ability to fly:)
@tinykidtoo thank you so much! I'll send your compliments to our artist :)
@arthur-tang It does! Glad you liked it.
Thank you @morepixels! A longer and more challenging level would have been ideal but the time constraints of course. Thank you for playing.
@julianojosoa13 thank you for pointing that out. Did you get the flying critter? That might have been the 8th one.
First of all, a Pokemon Snap is a genius pick for the basis this theme, secondly I love the creature design! The Rolodex versions are also adorable, I want stickers of them. Props for making a solid 3D entry!
Didn't expect to play a Pokemon Snap-like during Ludum Dare. That was very cool but also extremely short and simple. The music and creature designs were great but the lighting was way too bright. All that light would've made photographing creatures out of a moving vehicle way easier but it kinda bothered me during my playthrough.
Great job making a unique LD entry
I loved the game!! A parody of Pokémon snap is a really creative and funny way to use the theme. And every creature is so creatively designed; it adds to the nice feeling of finding and capturing them. I also love the gameplay! I knew about Pokémon Snap, but if I had known it would be this fun, I would have tried it sooner. At first, I thought the game would be better if you could control the camera with the mouse, but then I realized that would make the game too easy, and the controls the game offers are nice once you understand and get used to them. I also really like the world the creatures inhabit. Overall, it is amazing!! I am proud to have become the ultimate critter cataloger! Well done!!

Your game is really cool we all loved the art it looked amazing. The camera speed was so quick so I did struggle to move around and take photos I recommend it goes rather to mouse movement. Loved the main menu one of the best I have seen in a long time. Enjoyed the concept of the game. It was also tough to be stable I think what would have been also really cool is if the map was larger and you drove the cart around instead of being on rails. Overall was an enjoyable experience and do want to see it further developed just needs some fine turning but amazing job
Great music and art!
Reminds me of a world quest in WoW, where you have to photograph creatures :D
fun game, cute creatures :)
I love Pokemon Snap! Such cute creatures and animations, bravo to your rigger!
Critter Capture is such a delightful experience! The concept of exploring an alien world and snapping photos of adorable creatures feels reminiscent of Pokémon Snap, which is a brilliant choice for this theme. I really loved the creature designs—each one was so unique, and the Rolodex versions were a nice touch.
I did find the movement a bit tricky at first, but learning to slow it down helped a lot. Adding more levels or a larger map to drive around in could make the gameplay even more engaging. I also liked how the world felt alive, with creatures running or flying around. The music was a perfect fit, too—it added to the relaxing yet adventurous vibe. Overall, it’s a really creative and fun game with lots of charm! Would love to see more of it in the future!
Managed to get all creatures on my second try! Enjoyed this game, a refreshing take. I wish I could've used my mouse to move the camera around, and click to take photos - I think that might've been a bit more of an intuitive player controller. I really like the 2D designs of the creatures - I wish their 3D model could've reflected them a little bit better! Also the ground looks a bit overblown in terms of exposure. Audio is simple and catchy, but I wish there could've been a bit more during gameplay to set the mood a little more - sound from the car, sounds when you get closer to certain critters, etc. But - a neat game, well done!
@thefruckets thank you so much for the feedback! It def needs some fine tuning and we'll keep those points in mind four our next jam:)
Thanks for playing our game @leitdorf 😊
Thank you so much @loveschach. Rigging those characters was def a challenge. I'm glad I completed that in such a short time.
@stormburpee thank you so much for playing our game! We have some work to get it polished but it was a great learning experience. Thank you so much for the feedback on the features we executed right and which ones to work on. It is very helpful for our growth :)
Thank you for playing our game @douuggggg. We def have some cleaning up to do. Thank yo so much for the feedback as those points are something to keep in mind for our next jam :)
The game's take on the topic is creative, and its visuals are absolutely gorgeous. God Job!
A good start, would benefit from mouse look. I wish it was more in depth, or there were some sort of scoring system to incentivize taking good photos, but its understandable that things would be limited due to the nature of ludum
Fun game and the design are very nice !
Pretty quick little game, fun and well put together. I swear I got them all but I kept missing one. Keep up the good work!
Lovely little game, I only wish the creatures were tinier! Jokes aside, great job. It's short and sweet but the critter roledex images at the end make it worth it. I had to do a few playthroughs to realise I was missing the water critter but I got it in the end. Hope you enjoyed the jam!
