LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Turn-A Totally BS!: Turn Up a Dig Site by avalonknight 2014-05-01T01:11:00

This is Rik from the CORE Games team, posting on Mith's account.

The idea was simple and somewhat cute. I loved the simplistic map screen, and the music was very clear. There wasn't really any challenge, since from what I saw you basically just click until you win, but it's not bad (and certainly less buggy than other entries - unlike our own!), so well done.

Vector from Victory Garden said it pretty well; this felt like an interactive webcomic page, which isn't a bad thing at all.

Cataclysmus by Team Castor 2014-04-30T19:57:00

It seems pretty in depth, but as others have said, it needs more player feedback, I think an in depth tutorial would help as well, right now the player is kind of just thrown into the game world

Zems Online CCG - Beneath the Sea Edition! by Exeneva 2014-04-30T19:47:00

Looks good, something I will definitely play with friends

One more day by Menesetsu 2014-05-01T01:21:00

This is Rik from the CORE Games team, posting on Mith's account.

This looks seriously good and I'm in love with the style and atmosphere, but unfortunately I didn't really feel like I was progressing at all. I'm sure that was just me being not super great at it (and being a little sleepy) though, so seriously. Probably one of the best entries I've been able to play so far.

Platform Hero by greysphere 2014-04-29T01:53:00

At first seeing a guitar hero game threw me off and I was a little disappointed (the assets made it look like a very solid looking platform). However, playing through it was quite a nice simple experience. I like the execution and the clever animations stuck out to me. My only gripe is that there was no score system (which, having failed to add that to our own project, I understand). Maybe make another pass at this now that the Dare is over and add some features!

Dozer's Gem Jam by PoQA Games 2014-04-30T19:42:00

Nice and simple, feels like a complete game

The Worlds Beneath by jugglerrob 2014-04-30T08:46:00

Great job, I'm loving it!

Prehistoric Kerfuffle: Tussle at the Rumble Dome by NoahC_ 2014-05-02T04:12:00

I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised! Everything feels good, keep up the good work!

Beneath The Lab by Techblogogy 2014-05-01T01:51:00

Bonjour! This is Rik from the CORE Games team, posting on Mith's account.

This was a very neat concept, but I found it did get pretty confusing later on. Not really in a puzzling way, just in an "...ok...where am I?" sort of way. It's a great start, and I'd absolutely love to see a polished up version!

Debt Diver by aaronj 2014-04-30T19:52:00

The game feels solid, although the controls feel a little floaty, I think it's a good start but it needs something to engage the player, draw them in ya' know?

Scratch Ticket Fate by XenosNS 2014-05-01T19:49:00

Nice and simple, I love it

An old man and space by BuKaneerz 2014-05-01T06:01:00

Thanks for a nice, relaxing game!

The Crevice by ZQMony 2014-05-01T19:42:00

Fun but very hard, maybe add checkpoints between levels? Otherwise good job!

Sewer Rat Escape by Seraphic Media 2014-04-29T01:41:00

The randomization at the beginning hurts this entry. I lost a few times just because platforms kept colliding before I could get to them. Overall though, a fully playable, complete game.

Drill Diver by Theropod Studios 2014-04-29T14:17:00

Oops, title screen was looking for a button input that didn't exist, serves me right for only testing with a controller, all the builds linked here have been updated to fix this issue, any further updates will be uploaded elsewhere to preserve the integrity of judging.

Beneath the surface, chasing the killer... by snake5 2014-05-01T19:37:00

I love what you've got going so far, give it more maps or a randomly generated map and it would be a blast, multiplayer would be fun too, especially if you could turn your flashlight off

Drilling Beneath the Surface by Chemical_Studios 2014-05-02T03:47:00

Decent start, I would suggest making the trap blocks more noticeably lethal, as they are now they don't really read as a hazard.

Kill or Kill by GreatBigJerk 2014-05-01T01:40:00

Bonjour! This is Rik from the CORE Games team, posting on Mith's account.

The dark humor was really solid and it was a good take on the theme, the music was fantastic, the transitions were great, and oh man...that graphic design on the title cards...probably my personal favorite part. Way cool.

My complaint is definitely that I seemed to have just been being arbitrarily shot by the police. Both times my game ended was what I assume was me being shot, but it was while doing the normal things. Officer please why. It's just laundry. Why did you kill me.

Great presentation, but a tad bit confusing. But overall, fantastic. Well done.

HammerHead in the Sea of Monsters by LTyrosine 2014-05-01T02:00:00

Bonjour! This is Rik from the CORE Games team, posting on Mith's account.

I had a shorter time to play this one, which sucks since it's slow but obviously thought out and involved. It looks really pretty for an alpha-level Ludum game, so there's definitely that. I really dig the idea and would love to see it worked on further!

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Sluggy's Fruit Emporium by YM 2015-12-15T00:43:00

The game doesn't seem to launch correctly, the camera is embedded into the ground and I can't seem to control anything

Blink by cacciatc 2015-12-14T22:05:00

Very good, nice and simple

Coralina by grama 2015-12-14T21:58:00

Nice mood but not much going on in the gameplay department, more of an unwind game

Babality by Spaghetti and Meatball 2015-12-20T18:44:00

We couldn't figure out how to get multiplayer working, everything seemed to control the blue character, otherwise it was a blast

Growees by NickZangus 2015-12-15T01:26:00

The download link is a 404

Winterland by Zknet 2015-12-15T01:19:00

Simple but a lot of fun

NGHGM by Stals 2015-12-15T01:11:00

A really interesting puzzle game, would love a non-web version

Totally Not Buggy Elevator by veverichka 2015-12-15T00:38:00

Got stuck at the air vent and the two buttons, couldn't figure out what to do, but I really enjoyed the visuals and the premise

MEATDOWN Feast of Fury by Theropod Studios 2015-12-15T01:41:00

@Sugarbyte Chrome doesn't support unity web player anymore, try a different browser. I'll put together builds for OSX and Linux but I am unable to test them

Lillypup by tanjent 2015-12-14T22:19:00

It was a little hard to figure out the combat at first but once I got the hang of things it was pretty interesting, good job

Sol Breaker 4081 by lgbpaiva 2015-12-14T22:02:00

The stars tile too much and the player sprite is easily lost in the background, otherwise pretty good

Ram Road Racer by ThaRemo 2015-12-14T21:52:00

Overall pretty good, could use a faster side to side speed, and it seems the player hitbox doesn't quite match up with the sprite, making it possible to miss cars that you visually pass through

GURU by TomenLuca 2015-12-20T20:13:00

I was really enjoying the game but when I got to Arnold it seemed to break, it was impossible for either of us to gain or lose followers, rendering the game both unwinnable and unloseable

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Cannon 24/7 by Igor KinGamer 2020-10-07T03:20:27Z

Its a .bat file? Running it doesn't seem to do anything

Cannon 24/7 by Igor KinGamer 2020-10-09T06:26:43Z

The web version is working, to be clear are there only three levels? When I played it seemed to freeze after the third

Its a fun little puzzle game, I kept over thinking the second stage until I realized how simple the solution was. You've got a good framework going all it needs is more puzzles

Nuclear Loop Labs by Jesús González 2020-10-06T20:23:53Z

You've got a good framework, and I know the pain of thinking you could get more done in the given time then you could, its about the journey and experience of development, not the final product

Untitled cat unboxing by piegames 2020-10-09T07:08:16Z

Its pretty tough, I think a tutorial that guides you through how the space bar works would be a huge benefit. The art is great and the actual mechanics are well executed

Retrospective by Cole and Jordan Studios 2020-10-09T16:00:59Z

Well done, I love the art style and the game loop, though I would recommend more reflection probes, especially in the basement of the main building

Free The Rollies! by gamesplusjames 2020-10-11T02:08:44Z

Very well done, my only issue was the elevator on stage three not working half the time or if you move it too quickly

Loop Skate by Cfdj43 2020-10-06T02:13:32Z

An interesting concept, but I feel the player is too big on screen and you just don't have enough time to react to the oncoming obstacles

Light Loops by TheCodeGoose 2020-10-06T22:00:53Z

A chill and engaging puzzle game, my only complaint is that there seems to be a small delay between hitting the lock button and when it actually fires

Inter-Dimensional Monster Jumper by EvilScotsman 2020-10-09T07:13:02Z

Magnificent! Very good work all around, the tessellation is fantastic. My only complaint is the enemy range of fire is disgusting lol

Lööp Runner by Salty Lad 2020-10-06T17:56:15Z

I enjoyed the look and the music, though the sound effects felt way too loud in comparison, good work

Hall Of Mirrors by cookie042 2020-10-09T19:41:44Z

A really well put together puzzle game

Silent All-Round Defence by rzzl_dzzl 2020-10-07T03:25:49Z

A good foundation, give it a more user friendly UI and you just might have something here

Dare To Stair by jackalson 2020-10-09T16:08:49Z

A fun little game, good work

Lost Memories by RodNas 2020-10-08T16:44:02Z

The AZERTY controls are hard for QWERTY users to wrap their heads around, being able to remap the controls or having controller support would go a long way towards making your game more accessible, otherwise great work!

Whorl by ZerstorenHV 2020-10-07T03:31:24Z

An interesting take on the genere, good work

LD49 — Unstable

Hexworld by icxon 2021-10-04T21:33:57Z

I love the concept of moving the world around, very well done

Space Repair by Abdul Zakkar 2021-10-14T03:55:25Z

I tried playing but for whatever reason the player refused to capture my keyboard input so I could only sit in place and act like a turret, I like what I see though

Core Meltdown by sockpuppetcow 2021-10-10T07:02:00Z

I enjoy the hectic absurdity, I think what you really need is some sort or audio or visual feedback when you interact with the objects, something my own project needs as well

WOLFGUN by sodaraptor 2021-10-10T08:02:26Z

This game is too disgustingly good. Perfect score all around, well done

The Great Derby by Geojax 2021-10-04T21:42:51Z

I don't know why, but I couldn't get the hang of which keys to press via muscle memory, I had to look at my keyboard to be sure I was hitting the right ones. Good attempt though

Junkbold by Wolfox121 2021-10-04T22:35:42Z

@aldorado Thank you for the alert, I've just pushed an update onto itch that should fix that issue

Junkbold by Wolfox121 2021-10-05T02:50:35Z

@almightyzentaco I'm sorry you were having an issue building, we're discussing adding a visual aid for initial placement but that might count as a new feature, which we aren't allowed to add at this point. In the mean time, if you left click to pick up an item then walk into the building station and left click in the center of the floor that should start you off, if it worked your part will be floating with glowing attachment points

Junkbold by Wolfox121 2021-10-10T06:37:19Z

@cynthianconspiracy I'm sorry to hear about your motion sickness, I've added an FoV slider to our feature list for update 1.3.0

@dragonsheep Buying a new shipment of scrap now only adds more scrap to the yard, and does not reset any build progress or delete any existing scrap. This is included along with several other bug fixes in update 1.2.0 which I hope to have out tomorrow. I have also added your other suggestions to our feature list for update 1.3.0

Elbatsnu's Brewery by Feraligatr 2021-10-14T04:02:05Z

An interesting idea and a fun loop, good job

Box, Arm, Bomb by Kvinster 2021-10-04T21:46:34Z

I couldn't figure out how to make the second jump, I don't jump high enough and I can't jump while standing on the bomb

Unstabled 2: Horses Vs Pugs by mrnotcrazy 2021-10-04T22:12:24Z

The UI cards at the bottom of the screen made it hard to see or interact with anything when the table was tilted downwards. The intro video was great

Head Librarian by Daniel Giorlando 2021-10-05T16:12:00Z

Chrome and Windows 10 won't let me download it, claiming a virus was detected

Head Librarian by Daniel Giorlando 2021-10-05T16:31:36Z

@daniel-giorlando Yeah I'm fairly sure its just a false positive, but Windows wont let me work around it : /

A Year of Rest by Binary Systems 2021-10-05T15:57:36Z

I wasn't able to exit the doctor's office, going through the door seemed to put me back in the transition hitbox

LD52 — Harvest

Goblindentured Harvester by Magnanix 2023-01-15T01:55:55Z

Good work on getting a 3d game up and out in time

The game loop was a bit easy to blow through the debt, I wasn't sure what the upgrades actually did and they were too expensive relative to the debt to be worth chasing. You could try making the debt something far more massive and have the upgrades drastically increase how much you earn

The only major issue I had was the bar you use for the harvesting minigame could be cutoff if the mining spot was too far up on the screen or too close to the sides

The Harvester by MarkElliott 2023-01-10T03:26:34Z

Tank controls took a bit to get used to, but overall good work

Harvcrab-232 by Raynorr 2023-01-15T02:06:10Z

I think some sort of UI graphic to visualize the direction of your momentum would help with maneuvering and breaking

The upgrades feel way too expensive compared to the amount of resources you get per harvest, I could never afford a single one before dying

Those things aside the game looks great and has a lot of promise

Across the River Styx by nataku92 2023-01-10T03:13:18Z

A cute take on a tower defense, it took me a bit to figure out what to do at first mostly due to the first spirits looking dirty and not finding any sort of wash cloth. Once I figured out they needed the bandaides it went smoothly

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Traction Bugs by TimBeaudet 2024-10-11T00:44:18Z

Not bad, you should consider uploading a thumbnail, it makes people more likely to click on your grame

TINY PACK by xk_the_name 2024-10-09T04:36:59Z

Interesting game, but I wiped to the snake because it wasn't clear I had to hit the 6 as well as burn down his health until after I had used all my good dice

Mini Running Ant by drludos 2024-10-13T19:14:06Z

This might be the coolest entry I've seen. Rate more games so yours gets shown to more people, you deserve the ratings

Pixel Repair Agency by KirLosev 2024-10-08T03:44:45Z

I tried to check it out, found plenty of dead or less than responsive pixels, but trying to kill them just gave a refund. I think a proper tutorial would go a long way. Art was very nice

Pixel Repair Agency by KirLosev 2024-10-08T05:33:44Z

@kirlosev Ah, that would explain it, I was trying to fix every dead pixel lol

Insecterminator by recyx 2024-10-09T06:21:44Z

Plenty addicting, but the UI could use some tweaking, multiple times I accidentally gave away highly upgraded saw blades thinking I was getting another saw upgrade and not choosing which weapon to replace

Lumibot, Please Don't Trash the City by BoxedMeatRevolution 2024-10-08T03:25:06Z

Interesting concept, though I found the targets very hard to hit

Far From Fairies by Kurakurture 2024-10-13T01:50:54Z

I like what I've seen so far but the game is lagging even on my beefy pc, if you can do some performance optimizations I'd be interested in taking another look. In addition, I would recommend rating more games, doing so makes the system show your game to more people

Feast of Fools by ehgoodenough 2024-10-13T22:11:37Z

Fantastic game and wonderful font choice, I would suggest rating more games as that makes the system show yours to more people

Vi and the Fairies by Monado 2024-10-13T01:47:30Z

As a fellow low poly artist, well done! I recommend rating more games, doing so makes the system show your game to more people

Dgdgan by Gossian 2024-10-09T04:29:25Z

I wasn't able to interact with anything, the E button didn't seem to do anything when prompted

Dgdgan by Gossian 2024-10-25T15:33:37Z

Gave it another shot post update, now that I can actually interact with it I really enjoy the differences in mood between night and day, well done

Germotron3000 by Palemek 2024-10-13T01:39:35Z

I dont think tying the text appearing in the book to mouse movement was a good call I also kept running into issues trying to grab the washer trays Over than that well done I would recommend rating other games, the more you do the more your game is shown to other people

Dino Island Safari by Skleembof 2024-10-09T06:03:53Z

Simple but good fun, the driver was great

Jurassic Justice: Miniature Mayhem by Mogmi 2024-10-07T23:26:00Z

Loving the Jurassic Park vibes, its just really easy to lose a ton of compys because they wont move out of the way of the incoming attack

Roll to Attack by AStrayRae 2024-10-12T06:15:47Z

Interesting concept, I would love more dice types to play around with

Endless dream by Kotori_itssuke 2024-10-08T03:35:32Z

I attempted to try it out but the first button doesn't seem to do anything. I don't speak russian but wanted to at least see the art to give you a rating for that

Rats of Anubis by Adna0 2024-10-13T00:03:26Z

Intrigued by the controls, but the enemies are a bit too fast and have too much health, at least at the start

Tiny creatures – Hidden hierarchy by N-lan 2024-10-08T03:48:59Z

Very interesting to go with a physical game for ludum, I lack access to a printer so I can't really try it out, but I wish you luck!

Dawn of the vertebrates by Ceres 2024-10-13T19:03:59Z

I wasnt able to find any evolution options other than bigger head, but what I did play we enjoyable

Antpersand by RithvikP 2024-10-12T22:07:53Z

Did you forget to post any links or info?

Ready, Set, Escargot! by andymetoo 2024-10-09T06:23:10Z

Would have preferred more metal during the fast pace races

Critter Capture by TheXRLorax 2024-10-13T18:54:30Z

A good start, would benefit from mouse look. I wish it was more in depth, or there were some sort of scoring system to incentivize taking good photos, but its understandable that things would be limited due to the nature of ludum

The Enchanted Forest by Evelyn_Rudaleva 2024-10-09T04:22:01Z

Echoing others, I enjoy the art, but there is little to do in terms of gameplay Also, your link to the game is listed as source code, you should probably change that to web

Don't get lost by milu raien 2024-10-13T19:07:57Z

Very good art, I would recommend rating more games, doing so gets your game seen by more people

Pizza Rat by Prakash 2024-10-09T05:54:30Z

I don't know how many people on here are running MacOS, if possible, you should try making an html5/web build so more people can try it out. Good luck!

Beaver Drop by hkeane 2024-10-09T04:26:24Z

I wasnt able to figure out the gameplay beyond spawning a bunch of rabbits and wolves, they seemed to path to eachother but thats about it, E to interact didn't seem to do anything

GOBLINATION by ma_th_eoo 2024-10-08T03:31:43Z

Looks interesting, but it seems the W key isnt working and I could only strafe and walk backwards which makes it hard to really explore and get a feel for it. A pause menu or being able to quit by pressing escape would be appreciated, but ludum often makes us rush and leave such things out. Kudos on going full 3d, keep at it!

LD59 — Signal

Unweaver by Lisieshy 2026-04-22T01:17:02Z

Nice implementation of a waveform puzzle, looks like we found the same sine wave shader lol
