Really fun. Though battles(?) can take a while.
Took a while for me to get the mechanic (really needs some sort of tutorial), but once I did I had fun.
Simple, but engaging enough mechanics and the theming is great.

It's the first card game I have ever found on the LD database (of course there could be a thousand others).
I loved the Random Event: sometimes a life saver, sometimes a killer, sometimes saves everything from stalemate. Simple, yet great feature!
Loved, of course, the humor and the whole quote yelling at each round.
While I did beat the game, I didn't always figure out what happened (i.e. why sometimes I didn't get or lost followers after some specific action, etc.), but it's perfectly fine. You did a great job in the short time span we had :D

Loved the concept of the game, it's both hilarious and fresh! Followers commenting as they change sides are the best, we had a great time playing it. Wish the combat system had a bit more depth, but for a ludum dare project it feels more than enough.
Presentation wise it's varied and dynamic, wish you guys keep working on the project. The world needs less quotes and more games making smart fun of them. Great work!

Love the quotes, graphics, and UI. Very funny! The mechanic was a bit confusing at first, but really easy to pick up quickly. Its definitely challenging and can sometimes take a while, but I was entertained and now I need to unlock Bob Ross! Seriously great game! Good job!

Wow! This is a surprisingly well fleshed out card game! I'm impressed! I feel like some of the nitty gritty details were a little poorly explained, but I had a good time overall building up karma and countering my opponent's cards. Overall, a very interesting, funny, and enjoyable game!

I really enjoyed the wittiness in this game, the idea of gaining and loosing followers to people is really cool
I had two main criticisms:
1. I didnt quite understand why I couldn't choose certain cards sometimes
2. There only seemed to be one correct card to every round and sometimes you couldn't pick that card
These problems though I feel would be ironed out given more time. Solid idea dude!

Really cool concept for a card game. Karma pool worked pretty well! Sometimes the randomness of the cards would be a little tough to get a counter but overall great execution.
Was fun even if the battles were a little long.

Really cool game, I got stuck in a situation VS gandalf where I no matter what cards were chosen neither of us could gain or lose followers, and random events never occured :(
Restarting fixed this and it was perfect, I had to restart though.
This is awesome! The balance seems weighted towards a reeealy long end battle, but it's a blast getting there. Fabulous job all around!

This is a really well-made card game, it's surprisingly well balanced.
Not to mention I love the gurus and their references, the dialogue can be really funny sometimes. I cannot put this game down...uh stop playing I mean.

It seems like the strategy is to play cards that counter? Seemed to get me through pretty easily. That may be the first thing to balance/tweak if you keep working on it.

Great job, played all the battles to the end with 130 points - although I still did not understand the extent to which I actually gained followers and had to turn off the audio loop :P Anyway - overall a solid game.

This game was really fun, great concept! I got stuck on Arnold Schwarzenegger though, I wasn't getting random events and none of my cards or his were having any effect on our guys. It looks and sounds great!

Wow, just brilliant stuff. Nails absolutely everything. Only criticism I have is that the actual gameplay itself doesn't seem that deep, and the communication of why and how followers join you is a little off. Really innovative concept though and the theme is excellent.

This game is pretty great-- this and "No Hobo" are the funniest game I've played thus far but this one isnt laugh out loud funny, its a smarter kinda funny.
This may be splitting hairs because there definitely is a learning curve and a strategy to this game but sometimes I feel like the best strategy is simply to always counter if you can and meditate if you can't and none of the conditionals in the card descriptions are in your favor. This isn't to say that I never had a moment where I was torn between which card to choose because there were times where that happened but it felt rare. Maybe I was misunderstanding the main mechanics, I don't know. Either way, with some slight tweaking this game is nearly a finished product.

Lacking in terms of devotion to the jam theme. Loved the game though. Would be fun as proper card/deck building game. Though would have preferred for the game to take turns at who shows card first. Was too easy to manage hand to fit all purposes.

Really refreshing seeing a card game on here! As someone who likes board games, I think this is extra cool. Very polished as well - progression, great art and music, and lots of humor as well. Props all around!
In terms of things I'd like to see, I can't strategize much in this game beyond managing my karma so I can have a good counter. Otherwise with a 3 card hard I'm just waiting to top-deck a good card. Also, maybe give the cards symbols as well as colors, so you can place on each card what counters which in a more readable way? Anyway great job!

Great stuff ^^ I really like strategy games and don't see enough in LD. Good and quite funny too. Doesn't really relate to the theme but, well, themes are just to give inspiration anyway - if you're already inspired I say go with it.
Constructive criticism: there is maybe not enough feedback for "not enough karma to use card" so I had trouble at the beginning figuring out how to play (didn't have enough karma to play any cards). Also as you had is central and your character is left it is not immediately apparent whose hand in whose.

Lovely game! I'll probably need to come back and play this again just for fun, since I couldn't give it a massive amount of time right now. The graphics are professional, the mechanics are very easy to learn, and the advice spouted by the gurus is absolutely hilarious. Just plain fun.
My only nitpick is that your success or failure depended a lot on the random appearance of the cards, but then, that's kind of hard to avoid in a game like this.

very good job. liked the art, especially the followers design. from my perspective even tho i got confused in first few clicks, you made enough visual cues to get into mechanics even without tutorial. i think you did very good job in 72h.

Impressive scope for a jam! An interesting strategy game with great graphics, nice humor, and pretty balanced systems. Great user interface with the cards, as well.
If I had to pick one tiny nitpick, I think the short music clip that was cycling was eventually a bit too much given how long I could sit and play for.
I was really enjoying the game but when I got to Arnold it seemed to break, it was impossible for either of us to gain or lose followers, rendering the game both unwinnable and unloseable
Had so much fun with this one, only got a bug on the final level (cards weren't doing anything anymore). Else, it's a really awesome game, very well done !

Man. My battle with Schwarzenegger got bugged. None of us gained followers. Very interesting concept though.
Great art. Very polished. I didn't think the music matched the theme entirely, but that made it kinda funny. The gameplay wasn't my cup of tea, but I still enjoyed all the hard work put into it. I have never played a game like this in a game jam before.
Nice quotes, love the TCG-like gameplay, and the graphics are cute. The "fight" with Bob was perhaps a bit too long though.
A fun (and silly) concept with an entertaining presentation, the card game mechanics are a bit messy, but still an impressive jam game!
Once you get the hang of it it becomes quite fun. I like that strategies emerge over time and I found myself really considering what to do next, always with the feeling of having multiple options.

Losing all progress after being defeated by the third opponent made me ragequit. The game is already a bit repetitive as is, and making it more repetitive by forcing the player to redo earlier stages was annoying, especially so in a Ludum Dare game.

This was absolutely amazing to play from start to finish. AI was completely relentless but beatable (although it's a bit annoying when you and have to start over again) and the cards seems pretty well balanced (although there should really be an option to discard a card so you don't end up having a dead hand). Also the quotes from the gurus were hilariously accurate.

It's really fun and I like the idea. I appreciate the hard work on the little details like the sound effects and animated backgrounds. The only thing I can really complain about it is that it takes forever to pick up. The instructions are VERY long and hard to get through. I think that maybe the first fight should have been either a lot easier or it should have guided you through everything you can do (or both). Great job!
Really cool game. Impressive design and balance. The quotes were often funny. Art and graphics were also great. Unfortunately I got stuck on the gandalf level. Followers didn't change regardless of cards being played.
