LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

PSYCHOTENNIS by pkenney 2015-12-15T05:38:00

Solid, simple, & addictive. Sounds great and controls feel really nice. Seconding the suggestion for a power smash, as there were moments when that would have been really cool. This is definitely one of my favorites.

S.I.L. by Skruffye 2015-12-17T04:23:00

This was a really cool idea; I enjoyed playing this immensely. Things did move a little slowly, but that wasn't a major deal. I do think I got stuck at one point in the game after I learned the firewall program; I couldn't seem to use any of my programs or select any different nodes. That might have been me/my laptop, though. Still, it's a really interesting game.

Arc by ChuiGum 2015-12-16T23:09:00

This game was addictive but extremely challenging. Also a fresh take on the them. I love the color palette & the music as well.

Witchgarden Leafiosa by phi6 2015-12-16T00:49:00

Gorgeous game, great concept, and fun to play. This is really impressive for a LD jam. I hope you expand on this because I'd love to play more!

Give and Take by Move127 2015-12-16T05:06:00

Initially a little confusing, but the initial time investment was well-rewarded. Cool concept and a really unique take on the theme.

Workshop Panic by Bloodyaugust 2015-12-17T05:51:00

Simple, fun concept. The dash was nice, and if I had more incentive to use it to get to presents--like if there was a punishment for missing presents--you could amp up the challenge a tiny bit. If you develop this further I hope you still keep it relatively forgiving, though, because that adds to the seasonal charm. Also the music is great.

Eva Ness goes to Hell by GeeItSomeLaldy 2015-12-17T19:07:00

This was fun. The controls were a bit hard to get the hang of, but jump-floating insane distances to blow the head off of a giant hellworm while dressed like Wendy from Peter Pan made me feel like kind of a bad ass.

Rockets Hate the Moon by nodens 2015-12-16T07:04:00

Haaa that was fun. The faces are great. I would also have liked more content, though; what else do rockets hate?

Super Soaked by Aumni 2015-12-18T01:32:00

Great concept. A little hard to control; getting back up onto the platform to restart felt like a little much after the first time, but it is a clever way of making sure players have the controls down before they start playing.

It's Something by RougeRogue 2015-12-16T01:35:00

Fun little rhythm game that kicked my butt repeatedly. It'd be nice to have a little more screenspace as warning for when the button presses come up, but the challenge of it was enjoyable as well. Great job, and good luck on exams!

Walden: Thoreau It All Away by bearcabin 2015-12-16T05:22:00

A neat little take on the concept. Once I figured out I could fill up my heart just by eating I got into a little loop where I just ignored work and ate and created (and cleaned but that was accidental). There were really no repercussions for missing work and not sleeping, unless you count the distracting presence of the flashy "work" text (which might be part of the commentary here). I loved the character creation bit, and the audio was very well done.

Garbage Run by Dege 2015-12-18T01:45:00

This feels really polished for a game jam game. The occasional clusters of garbage that are placed so that it is impossible to pick up all of them are a little frustrating. Poor Omar inevitably seems to get fired. XD

The Jester's Revenge - Part 2 by AngriestDev 2015-12-17T19:35:00

You definitely hit the "Lynchian" mark. Now please make a Twin Peaks game.

Pagdo by Tensoplast01 2015-12-16T17:48:00

It took me a little bit to get the hang of this, but it was fun once I did. The tutorials were pretty funny. Controls feel good once you get the hang of them; cycling counterclockwise to lose weight was a really cool idea.

Dungeon Surge by timeshapers 2015-12-16T22:55:00

Interesting idea & mechanics. The learning curve is a little steep but the fact that you could just restart levels made it workable. I did have it lock up once on me--after I placed a trap in level 4--where it would not allow me to choose any cards. Overall though, really enjoyable card game mechanics. I'd love to play a full version of this.

Grow Your Hoard! by jdoughty 2015-12-17T18:55:00

Fun game and a great take on both themes. The shield bash fight with the knight was a nice feature. My ogres seemed a little squishy, though. If you expand on this I think a couple of bigger shield sizes or maybe a way of protecting the ogres would be good additions. Overall it was good fun and I'd love to see developed further. Great job!

Greatest physics-based game that doesn't use real physics by KunoNoOni 2015-12-18T01:22:00

I managed a little past 10. Fun little game; I'm glad you managed to get this up despite the difficulties you were having.

Valk Unit Lawyer by oz2mura 2015-12-17T18:03:00

The graphics are great and the inner monologues of the people on trial are hilarious. I only had one person turn up innocent XD. I think you could stand to ramp up the tension a little bit by cutting back on the amount of time to give the verdict, but overall this was great.

GURU by TomenLuca 2015-12-16T07:43:00

This is excellent. The cards & gurus are hilarious and the art and audio are great. Really unique take on the theme, too. Great job!

LD36 — Ancient Technology

Of Health and Madness by studdert249 2016-08-30T01:54:00

I am not sure why, but this game was soothing, maybe it was the music. I really liked it, although multiple question would have added more intrigue. Well done.

The Awakening of the Golem by DragonZBW (SparkLight Games) 2016-08-30T01:48:00

I loved the intro, the typing text and graphics were awesome. The game was also fun, crushing peasants into blood clouds is always fun. However, being stabbed once by a weak little human made me a little sad. Overall, good job.

Cat Escape by t0mas 2016-08-30T23:03:00

I like the cat and scarab art. The background is also nice, but the controls are too floaty.

Helepolis : Make It To the Siege by olkeencole 2016-09-01T01:08:00

This was really fun. Nice to look at, fun concept, intuitive controls, and great music. I did wind up getting stuck on one of the arch thing, but with a little polish this would be a great mobile game.

AncientVenture by Findor 2016-08-30T22:47:00

I enjoy the art, although a couple of times I noticed some sorting issues, but that was not very bad. The simple mechanics made the game fun to play, but the lack of direction made it a little challenging. I love the idea of three different characters that all do different things. I got stuck in the hole and had to force quit the game to restart and the buttons in the top right didn't seem to work. It was fun, well done.

Ancient Techno-ology by elli 2016-08-30T01:39:00

Excellent sound design and the commentary is really funny. I ended up getting stuck on a corner (I think it was after I picked up the third CD) and could only rotate, but I ended up just sitting there rotating and enjoying the music for a bit. Good stuff.

Age of Garbage by Anudin 2016-08-30T02:13:00

The dialogue is hilarious. Poor Harold. Also I love the graphics. The screen did black out on me twice--I played the web build and had to reload the page--but the computer I am on is having some issues, so there's a very real chance it's completely on my end.

Forest Walk by slam_nine 2016-08-30T22:52:00

I love the black and white look. It is very clean looking and the monster at the end is fantastic. I killed everything, because I am indeed a "monster." This was a fun short game, although I am confused by the gun. Well done.

Antiquis Apparatus by Seizar 2016-08-30T02:02:00

Great music choice. The game itself is slow paced, and the controls were challenging (the down/up thing got me as well), but I felt like that was part of the point and it works very well for the theme.

Hand Cranky by tedajax 2016-08-30T01:45:00

A little hard to control--I end most playthroughs upside down frantically trying to turn the cart over as the avalanche descends on me--but that's part of what makes this so enjoyable. I love the characters, too. Well done.

Homecoming by adaFish 2016-08-29T16:41:00

Thanks for playing and giving such constructive feedback, muit and Seizar! We have some time tonight, and so we will work in some more control and objective instruction based on your comments. :D

Homecoming by adaFish 2016-08-31T22:48:00

Hi, all. Popping in to say thanks for playing and for all the feedback. We are working on the issues with the cassette and the controls and hope to have some fixes up by the end of the week. :D

Before You Die by muit 2016-08-30T02:37:00

Fast paced, nice to look at, and genuinely fun. I did notice a couple of the skulls getting stuck for a bit on the stairs. I second the notion of a damage indicator of some sort; I never really know when I'm getting hit, and I find myself dying by backing into enemies pretty frequently. Still a thoroughly enjoyable game.

Ancient Siege by dwhiffing 2016-08-30T02:23:00

Good job, a little confusing at first, but once I got it, I smoked the opponent. Well done.

Centurion Defend My Castle by josehzz 2016-08-30T02:17:00

This game was pretty fun, very simple but a little addicting. I love the music and the satisfying thud when you hit someone. It was a little too easy though. I found the sweet spot and just killed everything. I got like 1200 coin in a single round before I let them kill me so I could upgrade. Good job, I enjoyed it.

Dinosty Warriors by PeachTreeOath 2016-08-30T23:00:00

OH MY GOD!!! So AMAZING! I have always wanted to be a dinosaur wearing a wizard hat and destroying all the buildings in a city... This is awesome. Only thing I would say is that the camera shake is a little sickening. Well done, like really! This was so fun.

Bobby Bow by AWOL 2016-08-30T01:31:00

It was fun, but it was hard to play. The spiders would often get caught on one another and I agree, you move a little slow. Overall, a decent game jam entry.

The Crush by joemag 2016-08-30T01:37:00

It was a little confusing at first, I was just throwing stuff at the walls then standing there and winning. But as the levels got harder it got more fun. Well done!

A Blind Man's Text by TheSlovenianDevil 2016-08-30T02:02:00

Pretty confusing. Took me a minute to realize I could drag the paper out of the way. Also, maybe more clues. Maybe I am dumb, but I couldn't figure any of them out. Also, I would like to know the answer if I get it wrong.

@nuin Glad you had fun and thank you so much for playing!

@denka sorry to hear that. Thank you so much for trying it though!
