LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

Double Kick Heroes by blackmagic 2015-12-15T03:33:00

This is awesome, this the first time my kid has smiled watching me play a game. Pretty Rad!

Don't Mess With Totems by winesays 2015-12-16T03:14:00

Very nice! Very Pretty, and the game play is that right mix of simple and fun!

Duality by cxsquared 2015-12-15T04:17:00

926? I only got 323. The only thing that held this back for me was the difficulty of get the the clicks in time. maybe just leaving them on screen a little longer would have helped? Also I almost moved early because I thought I'd seen all there way to see, but thankfully stuck around long enough to see the bullet hell part start. Very inventive!

Frank & Stein by Thomas Olsson 2015-12-19T17:08:00

Way wicked! Total package game! Last boss was a bit easy but thats the only thing i can say at all! Awesome game!

Robot Frost Eagle and Worm Big Rescue Adventure by sP0CkEr2 2015-12-20T03:50:00

I'm glad to see more of family teams, its awesome to see you involving them in your passion!

Heinsenberg by ncannasse 2015-12-21T04:27:00

Solid man, really enjoyed the narrative! Had me in its grip the whole time!

Dungeon of Choice by DBRalir 2015-12-18T13:24:00

Loved the mechanic of gathering upgrades in an endless runner. Only consern was i got lucky quite a bit between two bad dudes and the difficulty level changed ALOT in between them, so I didn't quite adjust. Still, a lot of fun!

Nuclear Arms 2: Garbage Day by Logicon 2015-12-16T18:44:00

Simple and fun, loved the pixel art and retro sounds!

FEED ME! by Transmit 2015-12-18T13:34:00

Nice Mechanic, could definately be fleshed out into a full fledged game with end goals and a bit more variety.

UPSQUID by 01010111 2015-12-26T05:13:00

Liked this game alot. My one concern is that the sound for collecting the red dots made me think i had been 'hit' when in fact its the life force in the game. Didn't take me long to correct that notion though, and I had fun with the simple mechanic!

ORB LORDS by TravisChen 2015-12-23T16:32:00

First time I have ever enjoyed a pin ball game

Toppa! by lekochen 2015-12-15T03:27:00

Nice game, I liked the simplicity!

Frogtale by rzuf 2015-12-28T18:19:00

Got to lvl 6 by the end and realized that i was enjoying this enough that i had grinded up my level. to me your biggest asset was the humor that I could feel all the way through. Blowing up enemies by growing them, silly plot and text, and a solid base mechanic made for a fun play through. I'd say the controls could use some work, but I was able to get used to them.

Beardgrow by esayitch 2015-12-15T04:07:00

Controls were tough, but it was a fun game despite it. Like the humor of it!

Wargrow by Mixer 2015-12-17T00:53:00

Had alot of fun with the power ups. Between the bean stalk of Doom and the wipe out car, I had a good laugh! the buttons took me a sec to realize they were clickable, but not a big thing. If you look at my game's source, I made a simple button class for flixel that you are more than welcome to rip off. Keep it up!

Zyx's Adventure by Husky 2015-12-15T03:41:00

loved the use of the two button controls. Goes to show how much you can do with so little input! Well done!

Raining Stars by orion_black 2015-12-19T17:36:00

Pretty hard to progress through, but very pretty and mechanically quite solid!

Mystic Temple by Tipyx 2015-12-28T18:42:00

the motion blur made looking ahead a bit difficult, but the game was beautiful and fun!

Cowboys Vs. Ninjas by carlsommer 2015-12-16T02:39:00

definately needs a bit more love. loved the theme!

JUMPR by Supernaught 2015-12-26T04:52:00

Fantastic! Reminded me alot of flappy bird with its difficulty. The particles and sounds were great as well!

INFERNO by Lukbebalduke 2015-12-17T04:58:00

Awesome title! game feels nice overall aside from being a bit slow. I love the visuals, very tight! The upgrades is what made it re-playable and worth while to me.

Gyra by Jishenaz 2015-12-15T21:56:00

Liked the simple gameplay. The music and visuals tied together very nicely! I didn't feel like I found the 'fun' per say, but I think it scratched the 'If i keep playing this I'll get better' itch that makes me want to keep on playing.

Longbeard by Joe Williamson 2015-12-23T18:37:00

Very excellent, let me know if you make a full game from this!

WALKER by piper82 2015-12-17T03:13:00

interesting start to an adventure game. the guy walking quicker would go a long way to keeping the game from feeling tedious. Loved the soundtrack and graphics!

Attack In The Mushroom Kingdom by Monochrome Bears 2015-12-15T05:19:00

Had a hard time knowing what my input was causing to happen (never seemed to be able to get the watering action to happen). Playing the web version using the shift buttons for control caused windows to try to enable sticky keys btw.

PreGumbo! by FistBumpGames 2015-12-16T02:50:00

loved the humor, very simple and fun. I enjoyed the presentation of the plot!

Tokyo Wars by Valandre 2015-12-28T18:36:00

My only complaint is that end of the game gets long trying to find the lone enemy that has survived. Otherwise I can't believe how polished this game feels in such a short amount of time. If this is the stuff that Heaps can do, I may need to start looking at it more!

Super Lefty Garden Fighty by hexagore 2015-12-23T05:05:00

Very Wicked Game! Felt as solid as it looked. Music set the tone well, and I felt like it was easy to get into!

The Legend of Da'addad by DecayConstant 2015-12-17T02:34:00

Interesting concept. I like seeing games that encourage exploring and trying things, and this did that front and center. Very nice!

Galbanic Murdered by Sokar92 2015-12-17T02:54:00

The platforming felt like it had weight to it and the combo system was interesting, but making the combos more accessible would go a long way. Love the over all concept!

Radical Revolver Recoil Rampage by AndreasL 2015-12-20T00:28:00

Very Strong main mechanic man! Very good job!

This Little Piggy by ruthiepee 2015-12-15T03:23:00

990 Pounds! I really liked the feel of this. Very jovial despite that it ends in being served up on a platter! Art and Sound are very solid! Very nice!

SAAAM by Ogniok 2015-12-16T03:05:00

Loved the voice work, made the game feel like an interactive short story

Legendary Legionnaire Massacre 2 by banana4life 2015-12-16T00:10:00

Very cool to see an rts built in this short span of time. Alot of fun!

Sproutsong by ehgoodenough 2015-12-15T05:08:00

Loved the presentation and the sound! Game felt solid and I really could feel the harvest moon inspiration. Congrats, you distilled the game I wasted 2 months of my life on into a 5 min jam game. Love it!

Super Santaur by tweedle 2015-12-16T02:24:00

This was just plain fun! Music, Graphics, and 'story' are fantastic in how well they all work with each other. Platformers like this aren't normally my thing, but i played this one a few extra times just to see all the quotes i could!

1 Button Wizard X2 by BoxedMeatRevolution 2015-12-15T05:48:00

Alot of fun for such a simple yet involved control scheme. Think it would have been a bit better with less health to make matches a bit quicker

spin-circle by Modoc73 2015-12-23T16:36:00

Felt like the audio is what glued me strangely enough. Very solid entry! Had to weigh risk/reward alot, and I feel like any game that makes me think in that light is a cut above the rest

Platforms (Two Button Controls) by markoburzan27 2015-12-17T03:49:00

This game doesn't do anything new, but everything is a solid agreeing of platforming with two buttons. You've got solid work that could use some polish.

2 button metroidvania by JaJ 2015-12-23T17:00:00

8 Hours? Very nice work in that span! Very polished game play!

The Village by adaFish 2015-12-18T02:55:00

This really felt like a puzzle where you needed to figure out the sequence, which was fun, but the movement around the map being quicker might have helped keep up the pace. Really loved the writing, especially the guy who ended up coming to the town for the teacher, I had a good laugh at that one! Solid game guys!

Soulless Dungeon by ursagames 2015-12-16T19:10:00

Wow, I never realized how much depth there can be in just letting a player actively block attacks! This one was alot of fun for me. Helps that I have a love for procedural generated games. Add up good sound, good sprites, and solid game play and this is one of my favorites this year!

Bad Cloud by pedrorossa 2015-12-16T02:14:00

It's an interesting concept, and I loved the sound and art. I'd love to see what a game like this would be like given a bit more time.

Button Betting by torcado 2015-12-23T16:48:00

Very addicting!

Sector 9 by alvaromartin 2015-12-16T05:05:00

This game is a cohesive whole, very solid. Good job man!

Grow Your Hoard! by jdoughty 2015-12-16T00:27:00

Thanks for the feedback guys! We're sorry the music got repetitive, it was one of the things we were nervous about. We're thinking that that, and making the ogres tougher, and the arrow/axe speed will have to get tweaked for the post compo release. Glad you guys are enjoying the game!

Grow Your Hoard! by jdoughty 2015-12-21T04:02:00

Again, thanks for all the feedback guys! Nick and I are looking forward to putting all the thoughts and ideas to good use!

Grow Your Hoard! by jdoughty 2015-12-28T17:49:00

Glad you made it to the end rzuf! Some of our balance issues make it an achievement in perseverance and tactics! With all my practice I still clock at a minimum of 150 Regular golbins, and I've got 4 hrs of play invested in the game across the build and ports!

Glutton by CalmKai 2015-12-16T19:02:00

Congrats on completing your first ludem dare game! Its a bit rough yet, but at your age, i wish i'd been able to do half of this! KEEP IT UP! You'll only get better and faster!

Organ-izer by The Merge Conflicts 2015-12-17T03:16:00

This was a strong game, definately one of my favorites this LD!

Zircon by _HopFrog 2015-12-15T04:46:00

Felt like Fez Meets Mario Galaxy. Fun, but the controls felt weird as the orientations change. Still, I love its innovation!

Kawaiiju by TeamKawaiiju 2015-12-15T05:33:00

Sound reminded me of Zombies ate my neighbors, and the game play reminded me of Katamari Damacy, very nice combination! Controls left a bit to be desired and there were visual bugs, but it didn't diminish that it was a fun game!

Button Quest by Henez 2015-12-17T03:42:00

Solid concept and equally solid follow through! I enjoyed this one immensely!

Shaving Day : The Shave After Tomorrow by gloim 2015-12-15T02:24:00

First time I've seen a simple Unreal 4 game. Finally, I can hand this to my wife and she can know my plight!

Tormented Dungeon by Snowdrama 2015-12-16T00:24:00

Theres alot of solid ideas here, just not a great genre for two buttons.

A Firetree Tale by aeveis 2015-12-15T04:35:00

Very interesting presentation. I liked how unique the movement/shooting felt. Made me have to think twice about each move getting the desired result I wanted. Very Nice!

LD38 — A Small World

Small World Resort Manager by udo 2017-05-03T02:11:06Z

Had alot of fun with it. Played through twice because I didn't see you could do research the first time. Only criticism would be the audio got old, particularly the second time through, and the buttons to switch buildings was a bit tempormental (I was using the Web version, and the buttons would work 90% of the time, but 10% of the time I'd accidently be trying to put down the wrong building).

Nice job!

Welcome to the Show by jdoughty 2017-05-04T02:27:53Z

@rick I just loaded the game up on my macbook with no issue, which makes it tricky for me to replicate what you had occur, so I just uploaded a native Mac version. Let me know if that is playable for you.

Welcome to the Show by jdoughty 2017-05-05T01:11:22Z

@generictoast glad you liked it, I really wish I'd have taken Monday off just to expand it... and make the boss take more than one hit(got to love odd bugs). Next time I'm going to make sure I start off on a mature engine so I have more time :)

Welcome to the Show by jdoughty 2017-05-06T02:21:07Z

@veralos Which version were you playing that had the score issue? I know I fixed that at one time, but I'm betting I forgot to commit it and put it in one of the builds.

Supernova by Veralos 2017-05-04T02:50:13Z

Awesome game, I feel like you made alot of subtle choices that added up to a great experience. The foreground being over the main character, the collision boxes not being the exact size of the obstanocles (thanks for that), the sound track and art evoking fantastic 8 bit nostalgia. Very solid. You did a great job with the difficulty curve. I think the only thing I'd have done differently would have been fewer planets so you didn't have to spread new levels so thin. Still that's the most I can say. Very well done!

LD39 — Running out of Power

VS: Battle of the bots by jdoughty 2017-08-02T21:19:41Z

Glad you liked it :) debating playing with it more, but not sold yet :)

VS: Battle of the bots by jdoughty 2017-08-22T18:38:20Z

@catoto I may revisit it. I want to get it to a point that I can at least put it on my portfolio. @zee, I'm glad you were able to zoom at least. I need to see if its possible to scale my game in its engine (I think it is, but I'm unsure).

Thanks for playing!

Dreamlight by blksocks 2017-08-01T03:28:33Z

I got the same deal, I'll try to check back later

Hand Decay Panic! by ivexnuke 2017-08-01T02:09:13Z

Reminded me of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories battle system
