Nice little game but I have some advice. I suggest making the view somewhat top down, so that we can see the farmer. Also, the area should be smaller to force the player to confront the farmer, it is so big you can just run in a straight line away. Keep it up!

Nice idea but I wouldn't play it for more than 2 or 3 times. I can't stand the music, sorry :/
But there's ideas and work, keep it up!

Cool game, haha the music was kinda funny, but the artwork is nice and the gameplay simple but interesting. Good work !

Also had problems with the farmer, would have been nice to have a certain goal to work towards. Music was very intense, but all in all a pretty good first entry

lulzzzzz! nice job

vitasamode 2015-12-15 10:39

nice simple game. Good job for having a finished product. I would too like to see a top down version of this so that the farmer could be seen. Also I believe you should change and re-preposition your text cause its a little hard to read

calmkai 2015-12-15 13:40

Ok will do after ludum dare 34 is over!

Congratulations on your first Dare! The time limits do take a lot of getting used to, but it's always a good learning experience!

As for your game, it could probably use some more polish when it comes to the movement controls. I didn't see much point of releasing shift, so perhaps you could just use left and right as your controls, and make the running speed standard? Experimenting with movement is very important to making a good game, though I can understand not having the time to do that.

Another possibility would be to provide somewhere to hide, to escape the farmer. Being able to duck into some tall grass and stop the farmer following you for a short time could help a lot with how this game plays.

Good luck in the future! Keep making games and I'm sure you'll be making some great ones soon!

Cheers on completing your first Ludum Dare! Especially on making all the non-font assets (and on crediting the font-makers)! The models are pretty great, interestingly stylized. The chickens remind me of those marshmallow bunny extrusions sold around Easter.

There's something appealingly nightmarish about an expanding and contracting wolf drifting through a vast and too-green field crowded with pristine white and perfectly motionless chickens. The music really adds to the effect. I can't tell if this was the intended, but it amused me nonetheless. Light-hearted but strange.

Gameplay could stand to be more dynamic/varied, but it's oddly meditative as-is, particularly if I embrace that funny nightmare quality.

(Uh, just so it's clear, I'm not making light of the game here, just trying to report that way I'm engaging with it. In sum: I genuinely like its oddness.)

FYI - playing using the embedded player / iframe on the ludum dare page chops off a good chunk of the screen -- I didn't notice that there was text showing the size limit of the wolf until I scrolled around a bit.

Thanks for the feedback, sorry about the text, it automatically resizes when you use the application, exe, or tar.gz.

Doesn't run in Firefox, Linux. All I can see is the line "Unity Web Player | Glutton". Other unity web submissions run ok so far.

Heads-up. For your Windows Package you should zip the existing .exe with the Glutton Windows_Data folder from source as it doesn't run without it.

As for the game itself, there is a lot of room for improvement, but it's a good first submission to LD.

Congrats on completing your first ludem dare game! Its a bit rough yet, but at your age, i wish i'd been able to do half of this! KEEP IT UP! You'll only get better and faster!
