A challenging game. The controls were smooth and the game had an excellent vibe overall (owing this to music and graphics). The rope physics was pretty good too.
Amazing work and to any fellow players: I do warn you that staking the blocks is indeed harder than it looks.
A very good game with amazing choice of music.
Controls were a bit confusing at first with up arrow lowering the hook, but after playing for a bit you can get used to it.
Had a lot of fun playing
i loved the music good choice, dynamics are familiar no problem while playing, fluent gameplay that is good too. But that doesn't mean it is easy even difficult a little bit. I excepted friction while placing the blocks. Maybe game will be hard because of that point. By the way the back ground is looking beautiful.
A very chill experience, with some good help by the music.
I like the slow nature of it, very considered and methodical. My machine did end up collapsing when a stone brick hit it wrong, not sure if it was scripted or a bug, but it was brilliant all the same.
Thanks for sharing!
Up arrow to go down, and down arrow to go up? :D
But a lovely game. I found it easier to swing the blocks in sideways so they ended up on-edge, but then this didn't seem to count for the score.
Is the physics engine 2D or a 3D engine that you've constrained to 2D somehow?

I actually enjoyed this. The controls were a bit weird though. I also lost one of my blocks. XD
Anyway, nice game. For some reason, the music isn't working for me. D:
Cool entry! The machine was very well designed, liked it a lot. Sadly my stack fell backwards so I couldn't complete it without resetting. :'p
Nice Job!

Thanks for all your comments! I really appreciate the feedback!
@peterthehe
I'll be honest I hadn't ever completed the game by the time I submitted it, I was running out of time so I cut some corners with testing... I did manage to clear it later tho!
@WhiteSeal
I set the controls is the direction you would pull the rope to move the hook, did that feel too weird? I might consider inverting the Y axis
@xlip
Was there too little friction? I have to check that
@Decentsauce
Actually that kept happening to me too, so the reset button was born :D
@CMLSC
I'd be interested in knowing how you lost one block!
@LindenHoltWhittaker
The machine wasn't supposed to collapse but I can see it happening because of how it was set up, I would've liked to see it actually!
@Will Edwards
The controls where aiming to make you feel like you were pulling the rope, was it too weird?
I used unity and its 3D physics engine but I restricted movement on one of the axis so it acted like it was in 2D
@AWOL
Thank you!

Interesting game, the mechanics work well. Very hard though, one of my blocks got stuck too.

Great music choice. The game itself is slow paced, and the controls were challenging (the down/up thing got me as well), but I felt like that was part of the point and it works very well for the theme.
Using the crane to stack things was harder than I anticipated, but fun nonetheless. Great job!
Very Nice i love your Game Good Works )=
Interesting mechanics, and a lot harder than it looks at first glance. Everything is really smooth, nicely done!
It was surprisingly fun, but got too easy once you figure out the technique. No wayto reach a block that's fallen a bit to the side, but i liked that you can block your crane with blocks (if that makes sense!).
Nice music, nice graphics and nice physics. Got a bit annoyed when pieces that I had put perfectly moved when I touched them with the next piece! Arrgh!
Perhaps a bit too much mix of calm and small things ruining a lot of work, though in general a good game! :)
nice little sim :) I had a similar idea but I couldn't get my ropes to receive the energy expected from the friction of the motor. Were you going to take this in a puzzle direction?

Good idea with a solid implementation. The music is really good and fits well with the game. The crane/hook were too slow some times and frustates me a little. One time the second and third block were in place but they start moving, eventually falling. Great concept overall.

w...well, I guess I don't get the job, right ? :D
Seriously, it's very fun, the controls feels great and the music fits well :)
Cool Game ! Too bad there is only one level, i would have enjoy to keep going :) Nice work
Cool and relaxing game with nice music!
I enjoyed playing it and also missed some additional levels.
But it's LD so the game is fine!
Probably you could create something bigger with this over time - I would play it :-)

When I completed the first level, i was hoping more challenging levels to come after, that speaks so well of your game, great job, if you keep working on it, i will play it again for sure ;)

It was fun to play nice job!

Slick little project. The physics was very well done. Good job!

I've played several rigidbody-manipulation games during this LD but this was the first one which wasn't just blindly mashing directions and hoping for the best - I could actually plan what I was doing and react to any unseen consequences. This was the perfect game to top off my day of playing through the endless entries.
There was something funny going on with the friction of stacked slabs, if they weren't aligned well enough they seemed to slide off to different directions?

Thank you for all your comments, I'm overwhelmed!
@Fidrik
I'd like to know how the block got stuck so that I can fix it!
@adaFish
I was trying to make it frustrating, glad it came through!
@slam_nine
Really happy you enjoyed it!
@Amine Tcherak
Thank you!
@Spaghetti and Meatball
There wasn't much time to properly balance it but
@cushycode
They shouldn't fall to the side, that's probably a bug, but otherwise I think I'm ok with the game becoming unbeatable if the blocks are badly positioned, it adds to the frustration which is kinda what I was aiming for :D
@oskardevelopment
Thank you :) If I keep working on it I'll try to balance it better
@KingSlizzard
Yes originally I wanted to have more levels and playing with the starting/target positions so that you have to think a bit about how to get that piece without making the others unreachable etc
@Bendev
Thank you! They started moving for no apparent reason? I have to check that, thanks for pointing that out!
@Bellatrion
LOL that screenshot :D
I think that part of the fun in physic-based games is breaking them :P
@TomBuston
I plan to add more as soon as I get some free time!
@Delicious
I really wanted to add more but didn't make it in time. Playing other games here I've found one with a similar (although 2d) mechanic and the developer was so kind to explain me how they approached the position verification, which was a problem that got me kinda stuck in my project. Now that I have an idea about how to go about it I think I could add some levels and variation to the game!
@funkyryu
Thank you for your compliments! I hope to add more levels, if/when I do I'll make a post about it :)
@Bizmut
Thank you for playing!
@MartinFernandez
Thank you, that was my favorite part to work on too :)
@Eggplant
Thank you, I really worked hard on the physics part glad it came through!
@kyyninen
I've had a lot of fun trying to balance the physics at play, but it also took a long time to get something that was playable so I really appreciate your comment :) Thank you!
About the blocks moving by themselves, I probably overlooked something in the physics materials, I'll check it as soon as I can. thanks for the bug report!
