LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Neon Tank Warrior by wolar 2018-12-13T13:23:51Z

Hello from the other Laser tank team!

Your game is definitely the better of the two fairly similar ideas!

Really like the variety of things to sacrifice (we had trouble thinking of more than pure keyboard sacrifices)

Sacrifice Yourself by Grifone 2018-12-11T22:16:03Z

I think this games main problem is the blind jumps, like you can't see some of the platforms you're trying to land on. Other than that good art and theming

Really nice looking game with interesting mechanics, the jump maybe feels a little stubby but I think that's mostly an animation thing?

Comedy Crusade by Gnarly Narwhal 2019-10-10T14:52:50Z

@gnarly-narwhal so I think stubby was probably the wrong word to use, having looked again its maybe more to do with the animation than the jump arc/controls themselves? in this case there's no anticipation before the jump and no cool down after, which leads to the jump having a floaty feel, like the character isn't putting much effort into it?

@qristjan Thanks! I think we weren't very clear on what you actually need to do (mostly with talking to npcs)

Really nice aesthetic!

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Planet Hopping by Hjalte 2020-10-06T12:02:02Z

Really great 1-bit style and fun gravity jumping. I'm not sure the enemies were really necessary as they kinda get in the way of doing fun jumps? or maybe double down and give the player mouse aiming? because at the moment enemies can sometimes attack you from a place you can never shoot.

Loop Skate by Cfdj43 2020-10-06T11:28:30Z

You can adjust how quickly the game speeds up/starts/ and maximum speed in options, the game starts off as higher than we intended due to some weirdness with unity sliders. Thanks for playing!

Loop Skate by Cfdj43 2020-10-07T11:50:27Z

@hakunasoft not entirely sure what you mean, but in terms of post processing the game uses chromatic aberration and vignette (the sorta shadow round the edge) We did play with lens distortion early on to help sell the loop but it caused a bit too much eye strain to not much benefit.

Loop Skate by Cfdj43 2020-10-09T10:49:38Z

@hakunasoft Oh I think I see what you mean, that's just due to the camera's perspective on the loop models I think?

Training Loop by DomNomNom 2020-10-06T11:52:58Z

Really neat theme interpretation and a cool puzzle game. Maybe needs an earlier starting puzzle that doesn't require as much understanding of physics/has clearer visual indications of when you're improving. (something like trying to throw a ball into a basket maybe?)

INCORPORATION CORP. by Kilian BAPTENDIER 2020-10-06T18:38:02Z

Nice twist on the combat, your movement speed does seem inverse to the frame rate however this is probably only an issue cause its being run on a potato in my case

Cyclotroid by Korteh 2020-10-21T23:14:23Z

Neat concept, reminded me a bit of skyward sword's final dungeon.

I think the main thing you could have added to make the game feel a lot better was a secondary fire to the main gun? (probably some kind of charge up thing) At the moment it feels a little weak, so also having access to a secondary stronger fire might have helped a lot.

Definitely a fun use of the theme though.

Orpheus by Isaac Surfraz 2020-10-06T11:47:38Z

The mythological themeing of this is really cool, and the pixel art has a very strong style. In a couple of places its quite difficult to tell obstacles apart from the background (rocks in the second room for example) but enemies are always nice and clear.

CURSUS by Friend_Pirozhok 2020-10-07T11:58:45Z

Really nice use of post-processing to produce really good visual from simple graphics. It might be better to slowly add them over time so its easier for the player to parse the what they have to do on the first playthrough

Mouse Wheel by YokoOnFire 2020-10-16T11:45:42Z

Really nice puzzle game, the jump is maybe a bit unresponsive and floaty? (although I can definitely see the game becoming too easy if it was more responsive)

Although it doesn't look it, is quite similar in idea to the game we made (except we went for an infinite runner style, and more reaction speed based)

[Online] Neon Duel by evoleo 2020-10-07T11:47:46Z

Really impressive to get multiplayer done for a jam, and with some nice stylized pixel art. Might have benefited from some kind of "waiting for opponent" minigame (target shooting or something) given how sparse players can be

Project Cybold: Operation Ludum47 by Wolfox121 2020-10-06T11:43:23Z

Really nice visual design and well executed mechanics. Also impressive to see multiplayer in a jam game. My main feedback is that it maybe needs some graphics optimizations for low end stuff (although I'm running it on a fairly old laptop so this probably isn't an issue?) it also seems very easy to just run past all the enemies?
