Loved the style of this game. Honestly I think the boat could go faster. In a post jam build I would try to get more playtesters to weed out the bugs. Amazing game for Ludum Dare I am super impressed!

Good graphics. I don't get it...... maybe more instruction on how to maintain the ship?

silas-reinagel 2022-04-06 05:43

I love your setting, and the music gives me so many feels! It's the perfect music. Especially the airship theme.

From a gameplay standpoint, I wish the airship would fly faster. And I'm not sure if I'm bad at the game, or if you're meant to die really early. I didn't get enough repairs from the first island, and so I died without being able to fly to another destination island. Unsure if that part was the intended experience, or if I missed something, or if something could have been differently communicated.

In any case, I enjoyed playing this game and love your team's art style!

Thanks @simpathey @tsugumi @silas-reinagel !

The boat speed thing is very odd, I wish there was a fixed framerate in UE4 so I could tie the physics to that, I suspect the delta time is the culprit, as it seems to vary from machine to machine.

Nice work, everybody. Felt very N64-era RPG all around. The art and music really reinforced the peaceful village vibe. No less mood than your previous entries, just a WAY happier one. Both tracks were great (and it almost sounded like there was some dynamic music depending on if the boat was traveling or not?). Only complaint is that I kept rushing to get from dock to dock that the airship music didn't really have much of a chance to shine.

It's nice! Pretty art!

I love the artwork! Perhaps adding some wispy clouds to fly through, or some decorative clouds under the islands could spice up the single-colored void below. I wish I had more control over the camera. The top down angle isn't bad, but I'd like the option to freely rotate it around, since an over-the-shoulder view would be nice at times as well. Also, you never get to see the character's face in game due to the angle, which I think is a weird choice. It's pretty relaxing floating between islands, but maybe a bit too slow? Also, are the letters placed randomly? I had one generate under a tree and I couldn't reach it.

Anyway, I know the above paragraph was pretty negative, but I really enjoyed the game! Also I like how the islands don't have invisible walls (or at least one of them didn't) and I was able to just hop off into my death. ha! Great game!

@100th-coin : Uh oh! they are supposed to have invisible walls. Sounds like one slipped thru our checks! Thanks for Playing!

The artwork is really beautiful! I had a great time playing your game, but I think it's a little bit confusing. Overall, it's a very solid entry

Love the art and the mood, but I found the gameplay a little slow and ultimately couldn't make it very far before my boat broke down (reading the comments it looks like I'm not the only one with that issue haha). Also, when I restarted the game over text wouldn't leave the screen which forced me to restart the whole game, which was a little annoying. Still, with a few bug fixes I think this could be a really solid game, so I hope you are able to patch it soon!

I loved the art style, it remembered me Megaman Legends. However, the gameplay is not very interesting

Wow! This game was made with love and you can feel it. It feels so good to control the avatar, a slender santa-like character delivering mail across the floating islands. As a designer there were some interesting choices that I really appreciated, like this idea of holding a key down to advance in a menu, thus ensuring intention. The thing that I am most impressed with, beside the mood, is just how captivated I was for the first like 5 minutes. Learning about this little world and it's rules, enjoying the atmosphere and the art. Like this thing kept me entertained for a good 10 minutes. This project really feels like an open canvas for producing something a bit bigger with more features and content. Thanks for sharing!

I love the character design and the world of this game. It's all very charming, and the music isn't bad either. Unfortunately, the simplicity of the game turned me off to it, though not as much as the dreadfully slow airship. It was so slow, I wasn't even sure it was moving at first. The airship music is nice, so it's understandable that you want people to listen to it, but I think the best course of action would be to move the islands farther apart, make the airship about 10x faster, and put something in between to do, like birds to dodge or something. Also, when I died and selected retry, the game over screen didn't disappear, instead just covering the game window.

One more thing: some puffy clouds would really spice up that gray skybox.

This was like discovering a PS2 gem!

Even as a proof of concept, there's a lot to love here. You nailed the character design, the world, the style and vibe of the game. At the moment it's a little slow, especially travelling between islands, but still super charming and engaging! Fantastic entry, hope to play more of it in the future!

I wish to press charges against the tree that killed me. :P I was aiming for a meandering across a rope bridge and I forgot about the bounding box around trees and went around the boundary and off into the abyss. I should have paid a bit more attention...

Reminded me a lot of Summer in Mara, both in terms of art and mood.

Beautiful game! UI got in the way when flying the ship, very cute (:

Nice entry ! My computer had a hard time running the game tho but it's his fault for being old not yours ^^ The visuals were nice and the atmosphere charming~ I would have loved to see a more "cloudy" sky but it's just a matter of taste ;) Good job, I hope your game we'll reach the 20 rates with this little rating from me <3

I like the graphics and the music in this game. However, the ship is painfully slow - I don't know if it's a bug or not.
