Step 1: escape menu Step 2: set 'max balls' to 1000000000000000000 Step 3: wait for the slideshow to eventually begin
A fun little demo! The terrain is lit well and the particle effects are nice... I just wish that there were a consequence for letting the fire orbs touch you. Looking forward to seeing what a fuller version might look like!

Super fun and reminds me of a very old card game I played a lot as a child, loving to press the booster button and flying away! Great entry!
driving feels really nice!
Driving is nice and enjoyable. But actually I don't know what the goal is, except driving through blue checkpoints

You really nailed the driving mechanics, one of the best car controllers I have had here so far. We also made a car controller for this jam and know how hard it is and yours felt pretty satisfying. The Stones following you in the backmirror also looked pretty cool but didn t do anything besides looking cool. Do you plan to make a game loop out of it?
All in all an almost zen like experience driving around the vulcanic valley, had fun, thanks :)
very neat driving mechanics.
not sure if I die in this.
good car sounds
I was trying to take a good sundown pic

PC download link is not working. Driving a car was interesting, but I am not the fan of kicking balls with it.
The car physics are decent and snappy, but being able to rotate while in mid air does feel alien, maybe the arcade-y behaviour is intentional. I had some good fun driving around, but I already suck quite badly at Rocket League, so I didn't stand much of a chance in this one.

The one suggestion I have for game feel here is a strange one - Something about the way the car sharply turns when I press left or right feels a little bit too snappy and tight. It makes the car feel like it doesn't have a lot of weight behind it because it is able to immediately change direction; I would expect the car to take wider turns

Game looks great and feels smooth

Nice! It invokes something in me, I think, and I like it! How did you do this car physics? It feels very much different from standard unity vehicle type of controller. Camera work and overhaull feel reminded me of my own camera feel in my game =D I did the physics very differently tho, but we went in the same direction of making something fun to control and feel. You did a great job in that!

@breadstick, you perfectly get the point More balls more fun :D and yes touching orbs should have more consequences

@kosmik123, there no specific objectives except driving to the blue checkpoint to become invincible for a short period of time. I concede it is more a gameplay showcase than a real game.

@xenobey "zen like experience driving around the vulcanic valley", yes you perfectly get the point, it is more a gameplay showcase than a real game.

@klausklapper, yes I intentionally made a full arcady gameplay (no limit was my goal)

@dexort, yes I focused on the camera / controls / physics to provide the more fun experience possible. I started with the basic Unity system (from the kart learning project) I modified it a lot (ho yes a lot!).
Note that I tagged my game in "Extra" game jam category because it took me lot more the 72h to achieve it (but less than 3 week which is the "Extra" limit).
Sadly I wasn't able to test your game, controls don't work for me, the vehicle doesn't move :( I only can see the gif which looks very nice!

@liven oh, yes it happens on some machines =( I don't know why tho. Restarting a couple times usually solves this problem. Thanks for you answer!

There's something really special about a game that can bring out a visceral, almost primal feeling. Boosting through the air at breakneck speeds around volcanic rocks that are chasing me is a pretty fun concept. I did a few laps with the blue smoke, got some air and rammed volcanic debris as hard as I could. There's a really fun car game in here!

The driving is fun! Reminded me of two games I used to play; the Gorillaz driver flash game and Moon Buggy from around 2000. I'm not really sure what I need to do; I think it's about avoiding the balls?
Nice entry!
You definitely managed to create an enjoyable driving feel here! It took a while for the blue clouds to appear for me, I think it was after I got near the volcano's top?
I fell through the level a few times, but the car gets reset to the surface, so it didn't interrupt much.
All in all I feel this would be a nice open-world driving game with the mechanics for driving you have now. Put a cool down on the turbo, some delivery objectives and a story to connect it all, and I'd be down to spend hours here. For a game play showcase, good job!
Similar to others in the comments, I liked the driving controls and the game itself is just beautiful. But I wasn't quite sure what I should be doing, it seems like it's mainly a tech demo?
In any case, nice job!
Driving feels great. The camera follows well. The graphics are cool. Wish there was an objective.
Doesn't seem to have a game mechanic, but lovely visuals. Can develop into something really cool.
Well I have to say I had my fun playing this! I agree with the comments, setting the max to 100 made everything chaotic but very fun! Also cool fire effect.

@cresceda, I didn't know these games but watched the Gorillaz music clip and it was fun to see the similarity. Maybe I was unconsciously inspired from it.

@reed-molbak, @helekopeter, @lillatorp, you're right there is no real game mechanics or objectives, but I felt it was fun enough to share here. I hope I didn't hack too much the game jam.

Neat game I really enjoyed it. Like others said, hard to understand but looks great!
Love the game! Really cool tech demo, I'd love to see where you take this in the future (if you decide to continue development).

Simple game. I like the way it looks. I'm not sure if there's some sort of scoring mechanism or a bigger gameplay loop though, not very fun to play long-term. Sorry.

as you said it's not finished. but somehow I played this for waaaay longer then there was content for. it was really nostalgic for me, reminded me of the old early 3d web games to yesteryears!
Pretty fun game! The speed feels nice and it's funny to bump into fireballs now. Also I can run wild in there. That's a plus.
Pretty game :) Not sure what the fireballs were trying to do but I tried to avoid them
Felt pretty good! Just needs a little work on the camera and handling I think. Just wish it was easier to find the checkpoints. Music and more of a game would've been cool of course. c:
