Cute entry! Very nice graphics and music! I had some issues with the contols though, maybe others can say if they ran into something similar: * I found the mapping with S and D a bit unintuitive. Maybe moving jump to arrow up and shoot to space would be a bit more natural * Every now and then when pressing space I just saw a one frame jumping animation, but the jump didn't get executed * Because of the animation I feel like it takes too much time from pressing D until the actual shoot. If feels a bit clunky to be
Also I think some levels could have been split into two to have more checkpoint. But still the aesthetics make this enjoyable to play until the end!

Loved the artwork and cute animations! Well done!
Love the graphics and audio, I wanted to experience the game more because the lore had promise, but about 80% of the times I pressed space the character just did not jump :( especially when carrying the other person.
WOW, the charm of the characters and the little mouth portal thing is off the charts. Love the crt effect in full screen, dig the retro aesthetic. I got more of a Rainbow Islands vibe with the gameplay style but more of a super famicom Umihara Kuwase vibe to it. It needs some work to be a better platformer, but it does have that cozy feeling of a slower paced platformer back before wall jumps and double jumps ruled the day. KEEP JAMMING!
Charming everything! Congrats on doing everything by yourself.
The game kinda encourages you to clean the level yourself, then carry the girl from the start to the end: safer but slower.
@oadt Thank you for playing it! I just uploaded a build for windows to handle these input issues. Thank you for letting me know! :) @Dandee Thank you! :) I'm really happy you liked it. @ntmalichi I run some troubleshooting since this was not happening here at all, and I think this is just happening in the html5 version, specially if you use wireless keyboard/gamepad. Not sure the reason, but i think is related to performance. So I just uploaded a windows build and there it should be fine :( I hope you can give it one more chance! Thank you a lot for trying it out and letting me know about this issue!! @sonnybone your comment really made my day! :) You cited two of my favorite games of all time, thank you so much! :) @nuelijarma Thats for sure one way of playing it XD. Tbh I myself sometime feel this desire of just letting her be safe. Thank you for playing it! :)

I really love the graphic and audio, it remains me to the 90s, good job!

Such a cutie heroine! :))) I love the combo of music and graphics! ^^ Thank you for the game! <333
Loved it ! Some jumps were so hard but maybe I'm just bad at the game lmao The art style was really cute too !

This is very charming c: I loved the character design and the music is especially nice. Really enjoyed this one. Struggled with the controls but that's 100% a skill issue XD
The character design and pixel art are adorable! That combined with the music made for a really cozy atmosphere. I did have an issue that I saw some other people mention, where trying to jump would sometimes cause the animation to play for 1 frame but for no jump to come out (I played on the downloadable windows version, I'm not sure if that matters). Besides that, I really liked this. Good work and thanks for the game!
@sleepyfikou thank you for reporting the issue! This is really getting to me, since I tested a lot here and never experienced this bug, not really sure how to reproduce it. But will take a look at everything once again, thank you very much for playing it! :)
Also thanks so much for you all too @chloew @papaye-dodue @kamile-v @tomas88a <3 :) Really happy you liked it!

Very cute game, really liked the little flame enemy everything about him was super cool. I kinda wished there was something neat I could do with the girl except just carry her around, maybe a double jump or something woulda been cool idk. Some of the platforms were a bit fast which made the jump timing hard, and I had the same jumping bug on the windows build that others mentioned. I think that bug might be tied to framerate, had my laptop on overclock so it might've been checking to see if I was on the ground right after I tried to jump, especially since the web build didn't have that issue.
@nobongo I just uploaded a updated webversion and windows build to see if it fixes this issue. :( Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback!! I had some mechanics with the lil girl but unfortunately they didn't make it to the final cut because of time constraints :/

This was so good, you nailed the cozy platformer! I love the animations -- super cute -- and the sfx/music fits so well with the retro aesthetic. I did notice the shooting didn't always fire a bullet, so at first I thought the heroine was just ult-ing the finger guns for pizzazz x)
Such a cute and relaxing little platformer. Maybe wish it was a tad bit longer but that's my only gripe. Nice job

I really enjoyed the visuals and sound design. The idea of a platformer was simple but you gave it a nice twist with the girl you have to carry.
Nice! But I would have liked some more integration of that intriguing story into the game. Art is really nice, and the style defenite destinct. There is actually a bug I found after playing around a bit involving jumping and shooting, but I'll take as a feature since it somewhat fits the asthetics
The audio is truly outstanding. Super chill vibe
What a creative take on the theme! It's honestly impressive doing graphics, music and platformer controls that feel good!
@jkyd Thank you very much for playing! :) thats curious, not sure why the bullet texture not showed, I'll take a look for sure, thank you a lot for the feedback!
@kartoffel-licht you mean the infinite jumping exploit using the shooting state? haha I was excited to see if someone would find out about this one XD Its totally a feature! Really happy that someone found it! :) thanks a lot for playing it!
Also thank you so much for playing for you all @verttixpertti @fernofai @cluster7ck @is-a-hatbox <3 super happy you liked it! thanks a lot.
Really cute game, I love the characters and audio design! Great job
I really liked the interpretation of the theme, but the inability to shoot with a sleeping person in your arms was rather annoying
wow, really well done. I saved her! haha. The art and retro feel is right on. There was one thing where the 2nd level enemy, you hop on a platform and the enemy is above you, it can still hit you sometimes when moving back and forth. So maybe shorten the hit box a pixel on the bottom. And with carrying the girl, if expanded, I'd like to see a differentiating mechanic where carrying her forces you to do something or use the environment in a different way that still helps you progress.
Overall, really really well done!
Very good job on the retro 16bits pixel arts ! Design is also solid :) Liked it
Really lovely character sprites and animations. By contrast the gray background look kinda sad, I wish there was something there or maybe just another color. Carrying the girl didn't come into play much but there is definitely stuff you can do with that idea to give it more purpose.

Solid entry! I adore the pixel art of this game. The gameplay itself has a good idead of execution and was fun - just need a new spacebar  I guess the jump-bug might be something that I know because this one happened myself when I was programming another game for Ludum Dare. For me it was because my player landed on a half coordinate (example: the y-coord of the player wasn't 2 but 2.5). Because of this my player was grounded but as he jumped, my gravity instantly pulled him towards the floor again. Maybe that might help fixing it?
Either way, good one!

Impressive game with lovely pixel art with a cool color palette! Very atmospheric and surprisingly polished for a 1 person game. After dying many times I was close to giving up, but then finally made it and reached the end. Girl saved. Nice!
Very cool! I liked the sin() based (I presume?) platform movements, always annoys me when moving platforms move linearly. :D There was just one such platform, I think in the last level that contained enemies, that was so fast that I could only land on it when I speculated when to jump. Because if I waited for it to be visible, then it would be too late for me to make the jump.
Great work though, I'm always impressed playing such well-rounded game jam games. :)
@sn4pi Thank you a lot for playing and for the feedback in general. Unfortunately, this is still breaking my head. I'll be sure to take a look in what you sugested! :) I can't see how that could be a problem, since I only apply gravity when player enters the jump state here, and it is being calculated in terms of the parabolic trajectory. I'm suspecting to be something about the input itself, cause I already reviewed the jumpcode quite a bunch of times :/ Would be easier to solve if I was at least able to reproduce the bug, but it just doesn't occur on neither of my pcs :/ Anyway, really thank you a lot! Sorry for the mess with the key XD Hope your keyboard can recover from that XD
-------------------------------------- huge thanks for everybody that is playing and giving feedback! I'm reading each one of them, is a pleasure to have you all playing my lil game ;-;! Thank you!
--------------------- @very-dark-lord The idea was quite that! I think the effect is close to a sin() since it fixates a period to loop throught the animator and I just change the amplitude to affect the velocity. Thanks a lot for playing! :)
the artwork and polish of the game was off the charts -- but the controls and especially the jumping needed some work -- i really liked the idea of carrying the compasion and having to drop her in order to shoot -- very clever and added some extra depth -- thanks for making it
Cute game, perfect difficulty and duration for a jam game.
Could use some more depth on the girl carrying mechanics. Currently it just makes you pass the level first without the girl and clear enemies, then go back, pick her and pass the level properly.
Hmm... Maybe it could work this way.
1. There is a one tall ("deep") level of "dreamscape" with three girls on various depths you have to save. 2. Each girl have different "dream", altering the level in different way. Some extra traps here, different enemy there, etc. 3. When you carry a girl you are in her dream and you see her version of the level. Also, you yourself is different - in one dream you are a knight with sword, in another a mage etc. 4. This would probably out of scope of something can be done in 2/3 days, but there may be more levels, with you having to switch between the carried girls to save them all.

Really like the visuals of this game! :) The animation of the portal when you pass through it is very nice. The controls felt good and the shooting mechanic worked fine.
As @baturinsky mentioned the game is not using the full potential of the carrying mechanics, because I also feel that it is always "walking without the girl to clear the path" and then "walking with the girl".
Apart from that I really like this little plattformer. Good job.
Thank you so much for playing @lllarso @baturinsky @paulhocker :)
I had planned to integrate a lil' more the idea of carrying her around, but didn't got to put it on the final cut because of time constraints. Right now I let it be just more about the flow, but for sure is a concept with much more potential than I got to explore within the Jam interval.
Thanks a lot for the feedback! I liked all the suggested ideas and some of them are already on paper for a possible post jam version! :)
First of all, you're such a talented artist! The pixel art is lovely and there's so much love in these characters. They tell their own story just by their design. The music is soothing, yet there's a sence of dread with a glimse of hope that you will succeed at your task. Picking up the "Deep Dreamers" and being able to put them down again is really a fun and unique idea, you have to think twice before making a step further.
What I noticed is some minor sound cutoff in the walking sound effect (happenes when an audio stream is cut off) Then some checkpoints could make this game abit less frustrating when dying just before the end. But thats mostly it ^^
The asthetic and eveything are quite smooth, so props to you. Awesome job!
@hinamarina your fix worked! 100% of my jumps went through :) Lovely game! There's a small bug where if you jump and mid-air press D then it shoots and then you can jump again, but I actually enjoyed abusing it XD

Hey! The jumps now also seem to work fine for me!
@ntmalichi I'm so glad it finally worked XD I was breaking my head over this thing, had to try several different fixes. Thank you so much for trying it out again! About the infinite jump exploit, I am aware of this one since an early playtest, but I also enjoyed so much to explore it that I decided to let it be XD I was wondering if someone would find it eventually, you're the second to comment about it and it actually made me really happy! Thank you very much :)
@oadt Thank you so much for trying it out! I'm so relieved that this one got fixed! :) Really thank you!
@jona-scheidig your comment made my day, thank you so much! I'm super happy that you liked the idea! I'll take a look into the soundfx one later :) Thanks a lot for the feedback, for the kind words, and for having played my lil' game! :)
Whoa the game is super charming and cute! Nice visuals and fun levels, your pixel art is amazing, very nice work :)

There's minor bug that when the player jumps sometimes for a split second a fall animation plays. Other than that I haven't encountered any issues. I wish the player controls were slightly more fluid, but for a first time action-platform game (If I understood the description correctly) it wasn't really bad.
The backgrounds and tileset could be more attractive but the main heroine and the little girl that you're rescuing sprites are really pretty. Given that you've made all the code, graphics and music it's an amazing job and you can be proud of Yourself!
The graphics were good and I liked what I assume is done through post processing that gives the game the CRT type look. Some of the level design could be improved, for example, in the second level I think there was a moving platform you could barely jump on when it was at its lowest point. As someone already mentioned, S and D keys felt a bit odd to use as non-movement keys but the feeling of "this is odd" is the only issue I had with it as it didn't make it more difficult to play or anything.
Great work for a first game in the genre!
Beautiful game, but I can't figure out how to jump over the first barrier to get the girl?
@kobato-games Thank you for giving it a chance! :) You need to use your shoot in the vines to remove them and be able to pass. Its D in the keyboard or X if you're using a xbox 360 controller.

Deep Dreamers claims to be kinda cozy, but is in fact, aggressively cozy, angrily cute and violently nice. I half expected the fire enemies to bake cookies with me. What a charming adventure!
It says a lot that I actively chose not to fight enemies, I'm impatient and mash fire at everything that even looks at me funny. Here however, I loved playing this pacifist style? The attack feels on the slow side and doesn't have a long range, but I don't feel that deters anything. In fact, I felt that the way the attack works and the general vibe of the game really encouraged living and letting live.
The gentle music, vibrant colors and CRT filter brought me back to listening to music playing Commander Keen. Warm and full of heart. Def a highlight of what I've played for LD
@mavvy Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm super happy you liked my lil' game :) Your comment made my day! Really thank you!!! :) :) :)
