Stunning visual, like it
Pretty cool concept!
Really unique take on the theme, and the art is lovely!
Very cool game. Stunning visuals and sound
Genius idea, the graphic style looks beautifully designed with an eerie feel. The lighting mechanic blends in with the overall atmosphere, great overall feel!
The visuals were insanely good. I also liked the idea of clearing a path but sometimes it seems like I would die without being able to tell whats going on. The music was great though.
Quite clever idea, it would be cool to see more levels with some twists as there's clearly room for more. Right now it feels the game is game feels very generous, because you can just spam big lights, lose most lives and then go around - maybe light should degrade over time or after losing a life? I appreciate that the exit is in different place each time, also the hero could spawn in different place each time, and the player would probably not notice. Despite a lot of text i did not get what is going on, but it's probably me and in the end i did figure out what is going on. And erm, where is the goldfish? :P I fought that guy is an eel xd
Nice game! The art aligns with the overall mood of the game quite well. I particularly like the choice to use clear white fog as opposed to illuminating a dark room, as it keeps the game bright and serene. The game over seems to express death; great contrast, though it would perhaps be more suitable to lean towards a more subtle idea such as being lost or wandering. The music fits well, and the presence of SFX enriches the atmosphere significantly. The footsteps are a little harsh, though, and given that is the most frequent SFX played, I would suggest a more floaty, filtered feel for them.
The gameplay certainly warrants the use of the "Summoning" theme, which is great (this theme was difficult!). The instructions are simple and mostly intuitive. It appears as though the lights turn red upon death, perhaps to indicate a wrong path, but it can be somewhat confusing when all of them change color. Another confusion I had was the lack of a thing in the incorrect path; the creature pops up out of nowhere. As a result, the game becomes more trial-and-error, exhausting every path before finding the correct one. An idea I had to mitigate this was to use the red lights only when the player places them down themself, perhaps when the light is within a certain range of the creature. Then the player would know to avoid that general area and be more careful when traversing through the maze. Overall, a pleasant experience. Great work!
The most amazing visual style I have seen this year. Beautiful colors, eerie mood and right on time parts of the story. As a beginner I first needed a lot of time to try and understand how to use the light range, but after a few tries it worked quite well. Again the story bubbles guided me right on time to explain how to follow the right way. A beautiful game and a very innovative idea.
Unique art style, gameplay that summons lights to walk the mists, and an immersive mood. The graphics, the gameplay, and the mood are in harmony, and I love this one.
I like the art style and the use of the theme, it would be cool if they diversified the sound of footsteps or removed from well or maybe made not so sharp, I would also like a smoother, streamlined movement of the character,
Thank you so much for the kind words @ulziton @simontzky @matthiasbroske @charl-v @moonblast @denideni @ffffchai we all appreciate it so much :yellow_heart:
We've actually had a lot more planned, but didn't get to implement, including fine-tuning the gameplay based on our game mechanic concept, so we actually learnt a lot from your feedback @saffwong @hatmajaster @anvilesque @heretic, thank you so much!!
I'm glad you all enjoyed our little game!
nice job! it would be cool if you move the fish periodically and add something that alert the player visually / by sound when it does.
This is really cool game! Love the art and the concept! It's really stunning.
Cool concept, and very charming art style! I found it quite difficult to navigate (I know it is a maze haha) so ended up just running a round hoping to find the exit on multiple occasions without taking much care for the aggressive fish. Overall though, I had fun, it's a great submission with a fun take on the theme!
I really liked the feel of the game although it took me a while to realize it was a maze.
This is really cool and quite challenging! I love the art direction, it reminds me of style of Okami :)
The art style and visuals were incredible. Took me a while to realize what I was doing, but overall I really liked the mood you set here.
Really cool concept and art! Would love to see more puzzles.
I like this game! You guys are great!
very cool style. I couldn't figure out the way after the tutorial level though, too many traps. It would be nice to see the traps once you hit one
That was fun! At first I somehow just ignored the slider, so the first time searching for the exit was brutal haha But overall this's great! Maybe add sound settings in your future games, bc at some point those walking sfx were kind of annoying, but the music was good so I kept listening xd
Visuals were really great and the core gameplay mechanic was really interesting. Ran into a lot of traps so I didn't get far, but I did enjoy the experience.
The art and visuals remind me of tapestry art, it definitely caught my eye :) and lighting the way at expense of health is a unique mechanic, it was quite challenging!
The art is absolutely incredible, though it was hard to tell which paths were actually dangerous before I had actually gone down them, since the light radius is so small! Maybe some sort of mechanic where you could throw a light would help? Still, great job :)
Pretty fun game with unqie mechanics, I like it so much! The art is amazing, really matches the theme! Passing the game was too hard for me, because I didn't get use to such games =( I would be glad if there would be easier levels too! I would absolutely love to play it again and again then!
The art was really compelling and the puzzle was a satisfying challenge, I dead a few times but the multiple lives softens the blow. You definitely threaded the needle in between to punishing and to easy, well done. I also kept forgetting about the fact that the light can change size, maybe have a dynamic visual demonstration of the mechanic at the beginning of the game would help with that. Overall everything works really together this is an fantastic entry.
What a unique, beautiful artstyle, that the gameplay really highlighted. I was confused a little during the tutorial, but once I got the mechanics everything went smoothly! Thank you for sharing this game with us!
Adorable and unique art design, a somewhat novel gaming experience, and game mechanics that are exquisitely set up. What's even more commendable is that, beyond the theme, I can see that you seem to want to express something deeper. I apologize that my playthrough was a bit short and I couldn't quite determine what it was, but what I can affirm is that it's incredibly fascinating.
I really like the concept of this game. Exploring something, in a sense, "with closed eyes" - that's always an exciting experience. The music and dialogue lines added to an unsettling (in a good way) atmosphere which I really liked. Art is interesting, however I felt like many colours were clashing (partly because of their high saturation), which creates a more chaotic general image and less tied-together style. The monster and the lanterns are absolutely beautiful, main character's design is simple and effective, but if you continue developing this game, I would love to see a more thought-out palette.
I had fun looking for a path, though didn't feel like fish were always helpful:
no path.jpg
I feel like they should be "guiding" me upwards here, but there seems to be no path, the character can't go forward. Maybe I misunderstood something about fish guidance (and yes, it is a "new" light)
Overall, these are just little details to give you ideas what could be improved, but in short, this game is pretty cool! ^-^
Not sure if i did something wrong here, but where there only 2 levels? Incredible art style, it really has its own thing going in that department! Gameplay wise it might just not be my thing
the artstyle is very beautiful and The gameplay is quite addictive. Unfortunately there are only 2 levels here(
Beuatiful art and music. I like the illuminated path idea, though I personally had some serious trouble navigating. Pretty hard with such small spots of cleared cloud. Nice entry.
Great game, I wasn't expecting it to be that challenging, it was super fun to play!
I really love the style and the concept of the game, and it's so refreshing seeing a new take on the summoning theme with something so wholesome. Also, the style is soooo cool. Pretty solid entry!
Visually and sonically gorgeous, and with one of the more original takes on the theme.
I want to live in Luminth's world.
The presentation is the strongest element here! the artstyle is striking and gorgeous! the colors complement each other very nicely and the illustrations are pretty!
I really like how the central mechanic reveals a little bit more of the background illustration, it made the process of lighting up the more rewarding, tho I wish there was more than 2 levels with more backgrounds, colors and layouts.
Once I got the grasp of the mechanics the game became pretty easy. it would be nice if there were other types of goldfish traps with different visual ques to spice things up. What was there was pretty enjoyable and I could see some potential to expand on the game
Really good entry!
