LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Keeper Of The Worlds by Ambear 2022-10-21T08:41:14Z

I enjoyed playing this game! I found the camera control was way too sensitive and I would have liked to change it, but the game itself has its own unique identity and I thought it was really interesting. I loved the change of worlds, all of the different worlds looked so different and were so nice to navigate - it's a pity that they had to change every 10 seconds because I think it would be nicer to be able to explore them all at your own pace, especially considering that the character doesn't move fast enough to usually reach your goal before the world changes. I thought the character was really cute too! The ending was a bit confusing because I was back inside the house for a little bit and then teleported to the corrupted world and nothing else seemed to happen after that. Overall, I'm really glad I played this entry, good work!

Gelato Drift by thomz12 2022-10-04T12:22:29Z

Nice artstyle & humour! Loved the little ice cream van. Steering while facing down was confusing as the direction was flipped and made some customers unhappy. The time pressure was well balanced because I managed to get just right on time most of the time and felt good.

It Comes At Midnight by Legolula 2022-10-04T19:39:40Z

Loved the eyes animation, really nice! The game was simple but engaging and quite polished, really liked it! The best take of the theme we've played so far.

Stormlight Manor by RogueBrain 2022-10-04T18:33:30Z

I liked the twist the light gave to the maze, suddenly it makes it way more interesting, and the 10 seconds cooldown for the lighting feels fitting. Nice entry!

Drunk Wizard by Nbrowning5 2022-10-13T17:13:54Z

I loved the humour in this one! Very creative spells, and the cooldowns felt like just the right length so I think the theme really shined in this game. Nice entry!

Vanilla Sky by Rhanzoc 2022-10-21T08:53:27Z

Nice entry!! I loved the little "The End" spot, that was nice. Some of these puzzles were a bit challenging (in the best way), it made it all the more satisfying to reach the end. Good work, especially for it being your own engine!

UAO?P by Raivk 2022-10-04T11:16:16Z

It took me a couple of tries to know how the game worked but then I got into the loop and could last a long time playing. Loved the humour, menues visuals & UX. It's a shame everything goes so fast because I wanted to read all texts but what mattered were the colours really. Nice entry!

We Stole Aliens by grizeldi 2022-10-04T18:49:14Z

The concept is hilarious! Love the windshield effect and the graphics are great. The main issue is that I found the police car is too hard to escape from, sometimes it even appeared in front of me and I had no idea why. I really enjoyed driving and escaping from the police but I wished I could last longer on the road, fulfilling my dream of having a UFO decorating the top of my chimney, but my longest distance has been only 568m, not a very good driver..

Elephant Egg by Sprotex 2022-10-08T17:54:54Z

Really nice mechanic! When there were more than one row moving I missed the ability to know in which order they would move because sometimes it felt chaotic for not knowing that, but still works well and it has the right duration. Nice entry!

Come Shell or High Water by ursagames 2022-10-04T17:41:36Z

I enjoyed the change of pacing of being underwater vs being on dry land and the variety of things you can put on your head. The little crab song is going to stick with me for a long while!

BackroomsBreak - Alpha version test v0.1 by Eugenik 2022-10-04T18:01:16Z

The game had a low framerate and couldn't find any resources except the ones at the beginning. Really liked the usage of the destruction of the environment to escape the creepy guy-thing, and the audio worked well. It was really scary, we were playing it together and we both screamed when we got caught. Nice work on the mood!

Frosten by Kaech 2022-10-04T17:49:06Z

The idea is very nice! Good 1st LD entry! I agree with @chocolate-endive regarding the death. It's too easy to die in some levels and then you lose all your block-placing progress, I think the game would be way more fun being more forgiving. Personally I find the music a bit too "gamey" but it works well with the game. Congrats!

Dreaming Bot by Genpaku 2022-10-21T14:33:14Z

This game was so sweet, I loved the ending message when I got the paint job. I love that there are a few different things you can do to earn money with the objects, and the battery management felt well timed. I was always stressing a bit about keeping my energy up but I could still save a little bit all the time. A little bit like real life haha. The little squeaks when you picked up objects was also very endearing, I felt quite connected to this little bot. The only issue I had was that the area of interaction felt quite small, so when I wanted to interact with an object I had to position myself almost perfectly, when it would have felt nice to be able to interact from a little farther away. Regardless, this is a nice game, well done!

Bygone Melodies by Save Sloth Studios 2022-10-06T17:00:17Z

The art and animation are great. I felt the gameplay a bit too simple and it was hard to time the beats because the audio felt unsynced (played the executable version). Despite that, I'm glad that I played, nice entry!

Chef Jeff wants you! by jkniest 2022-10-21T09:21:10Z

First of all, I love Chef Jeff's hat haha, but I found that this game was way way too hard - 10 seconds isn't enough to do almost anything for the complicated recipes (or maybe I just am not very good). It would have been nicer to have either a tutorial for every meal (because some of them were really difficult to figure out, especially under time pressure), much simpler recipes, or have more time to prepare things. I got "Game Over" within 30 seconds 3 times in a row haha. That being said, I can see this game being a lot of fun once you get the hang of it, and the humour was great too!

ExperiMental by nilolo 2022-10-04T17:09:18Z

Nice idea! Was cool to see all the side effects and I personally liked the retro graphics, great work! On a side note, the framerate was quite bad, but still playable.

Peace was never an Option by Sacha_Soul 2022-10-04T11:40:43Z

The enemy death animation is fun. I liked the overlay skill tree as well but didn't use it as much as the only thing I needed to be a happy goose was a giant chainsaw.

I had to play with the controller & a mouse at the same time (didn't notice that you could use the arrow keys until I read a comment here), as the movement keys weren't WASD and I don't use a french keyboard. Would be nice to have a remap keys option (or just a simple toggle for those rare WASD keyboard holders).

The Lamplighter by SelkieHarbour 2022-10-04T19:19:06Z

@otterfaelure thank you so much for such positive feedback! we're so happy you loved the game ♥

The Lamplighter by SelkieHarbour 2022-10-06T08:47:34Z

Thank you all for the feedback, really appreciated!

@lejocarry I'm curious about the colorblind mode. I'm not color blind and we implemented the colorblind features that the engine has, which I thought were the standard. Could you point me in the right direction to know what's wrong about it?

The Lamplighter by SelkieHarbour 2022-10-06T12:32:02Z

Sorry for the lack of support for AZERTY keyboards @lydhros @jeanne-rossat I know it's a bit late but the game has gamepad support, I'll write that down in the description page as well

The Time Bomb by PSV Games Studio 2022-10-08T18:46:50Z

The mechanic is nice, and feels polished and pretty. However I found that the level design worked a bit against the game, as I didn't know what the buttons were going to do and the solution to all puzzles was putting the bomb just in the platform before the one where the button was. It's a cool idea that wich more complicated puzzles could lead to a better experience. Good entry!

PATTERNM. by MakeMakeMake 2022-10-04T12:43:17Z

Really simple but very nice. At the beginning I was trying to toggle the input the wrong way and wished it could last longer really. Loved the gamefeel of the keys and the way they're controlled. Also very nice atmosphere and art :ok_hand:

Bad Thoughts by House Trap Jay 2022-10-05T11:48:16Z

Very nice entry! I've found the best strategy is running rather than engaging combat, I felt the enemies needed too many bullets to die, specially as I couldn't move fast while aiming. The retro art was very cool and the music works really well. Loved that DEATH screen!

Grim Light by Forik 2022-10-04T19:13:15Z

Nice entry! As a player I felt lack of agency, I felt the lack of actions I could perform and my only task was only following a trail. That being said, the VFX and audio worked nicely and improved the mood that was already good. The character was nice too.

Intomb by LittleBlackDog 2022-10-05T20:42:14Z

Really clever use of the mechanic through the level design, easy to play but with some interesting puzzles. Simple (but challenging), to the point & interesting. The art works super well. Bravo!

The Last Outpost by Ntimi 2022-10-05T18:27:10Z

Very nice game! This game grabbed our attention because we also made a game about lighting in the snow. The art worked very nice and the menu art is very charming! I felt a bit overwhelmed at first with the time pressure and so many things to do, but it felt right after a short while. I liked that you put the effort explaining how to play at the beginning and that you made the end achievable. Great entry!

Morning Coffee Hit by chybby 2022-10-04T12:37:38Z

I liked the feeling of serving drinks, however the game difficulty was very easy at the beginning, I started enjoying it with the addition of the whipped cream but then with the frothed milk I felt the game became too hard to be able to continue, all my customers went to the other café and I ran out of business :(

Tecton Inc. by notnasiul 2022-10-09T19:44:06Z

Really nice art style! The gamefeel was great, and the timing of each action felt right. I wish I could pet the monsters :( nice game, good work!

Face the Weird Worms! by Brovovar 2022-10-10T18:07:51Z

Took me a while to get used to the game. It crashed several times when hit after being teleported the first time. Then it took me a while to find a gun and then I crushed all those disgusting weird worms. At least as many as I could, because I ran out of ammo and couldn't find more :(. Fun game though!

Teen Detective Allegra Gumshoe in Temporal Troubles!!! by fizzbark 2022-10-10T16:58:08Z

The dialogues were nice to read but as many people commented the 10-seconds loop was against the best of the game in my opionion, even with the 1:10. It was also hard to know whether I'm going in the right direction and making some progress, some feedback would be appreciated. However, the game has potential and would be nice to play a more developed version!

Cabush's kooky Climb by rsninjadev 2022-10-10T16:32:12Z

It's very challenging and the gamefeel not so great but still a nice and simple concept that is very fun for a while, nicely done!

the doze off by rodolfodth 2022-10-05T11:56:50Z

Only the gamejolt link worked. The small playable dioaramas are nice and it's cool to go through them imagining what's going on. Nice entry!

Sunfall by chemicalcrux 2022-10-13T17:30:23Z

Nice game! I like the design, it's a pity that 10 seconds are so short though. There were some moments where I spawned right in front of an obstacle with no time to move, unfortunately that wasn't the best, but I had a lot of fun with this game. I think you really got the feeling of speed right during the transitions!

Slime cat! by Sofy 2022-10-04T18:07:13Z

I feel the theme was a bit against the pacing of the game, I felt myself waiting for several seconds to be able to continue only to die and wait again in the same spot. That said, the cat animations and feeling is very nice, and the art though simple worked nicely. Good entry!

Carton Carrier by dimlight 2022-10-05T18:41:29Z

Super cool entry! Really liked building the machines. I wished I had a bit more time to build them, or at least that the randomization was a bit less random because sometimes I had too many bad ships in a row and felt a bit unfair, but that didn't matter at all because the game was still fun. One of the entries I've enjoyed the most, so congratulationes!

Frogwatch by Gunnbju 2022-10-06T16:45:46Z

Loooved the frogs! ♥

The book of time magic by Senso 2022-10-04T11:33:17Z

Liked the idea of the puzzle-combat & great voice acting! ALLELUIA

Tiny Jukebox by bobo_oh 2022-10-06T17:28:13Z

Great implementation! The music worked great. I missed some feedback of when I did great or too bad, and I believe that having a way to increase your hearts when you're doing great would make the game more engaging, but it's a great entry congrats!

autoball by torcado 2022-10-04T12:09:40Z

It's a nice simple idea that got me hooked playing a while. Everything is simple but works together very well, nice game!

Homunculus Heist by Ry-for 2022-10-04T19:25:23Z

Loved the mood and the artstyle. It was really stressful, almost as much as submitting the ludum dare entry. I love the concept of stealing a homunculus. The only con I can think of is that the flip switch was very disorientating and a bit of a flow breaker, but still fun.

Waves by RiptideStudio 2022-10-04T18:27:05Z

Very nice, atmospheric game. I really like to traverse the word with a completely different perception. It's quite hard to navigate and the controls to go up and down are a bit awkward, but the music, the mood, and the innovation of the concept makes up for it.

Under Pressure by Teanan 2022-10-21T14:09:34Z

Wow this game feels so polished, I love the art! It was a bit stressful to maintain everything but I suppose that's the point haha, definitely a strong entry. I thought the audio worked really well too. Nice work!

96 beats per minute by johanhelsing 2022-10-08T18:31:18Z

Loved the beat mechanic and how the game throws you there with just the minimum information so you can start investigating and understanding what's going on. I liked that the aliens aren't very fast so you have a bit of pressure but can spend your time optimizing the beats, collecting the resources and that. Good game!

Nine Knives by Fudgeawsome 2022-10-09T20:35:01Z

This is really good, very fun. I love how everything works together, even though it's true what @skel3ton mentions that in the end you don't jump as much because it takes more ammo and it's not so optimal. I think this mechanic could work well as well in a bigger game with different levels with their own challenges. Thanks for the game!

ps. the 10 binary countdown was also great

10Y Lost, 10M Lives Regained by jjbug 2022-10-08T18:16:25Z

Very nice narrative, loved it. It was a bit confusing to know where to click and when you were supposed to do so, but the audio and the music and the AI voice, it all works together really well. Very solid entry, congratulations!

LD53 — Delivery

Holding Out by Jeremy Ryan 2023-05-11T18:15:34Z

Really funny & fun entry! Loved the onboarding and gary is great. At the end becomes very hard and my approach consisted in luring all the zombies around rather than killing them and then it stopped being as fun as at the beginning, but it was a very nice entry congratulations!

Crash Courier by Ategon 2023-05-11T17:40:50Z

Really solid arcade feeling! was the most fun game we've played in this jam so far congrats!

An Ocean Planet by JamieOK 2023-05-05T14:05:01Z

Nice in its minimalism, the ship was a bit hard to control and that clashed a bit with the nostalgic overall mood. It was hard to read the text, I feel it would have felt better having it above as it's where I was looking at, having it below meant I lost half of it because I was paying attention to the direction I was heading on. It felt refreshing to play something this different, thanks for making it

bad pizza delivery guy by discountmonkey 2023-05-03T20:45:43Z

impressive you started programming so recently and are already jamming! looking forward to see more from you in the future!

Demon Lord's Catboy Pizza Delivery Service by Tyler Slabinski 2023-05-05T14:12:49Z

Took me a while to understand that the (!) icon was pointing to the delivery direction and the level felt very big and repetitive and after delivering a package I felt I had got everything the game had to offer but traversing the level felt nice as the hook mechanic is quite polished, congratulations!

Dust Courier by SmDaniels 2023-05-05T15:03:50Z

I liked the simplicity of the visuals & system, it works well to deliver an emergent story. The UX is quite rough though and worked against tracing a proper route as it was imposible to read if you crossed through the same tile twice, and removing the last tile was also finnicky, but that asides, was an entertaining entry to play, thanks for making it!

Medieval Package Delivery Company by Link270 2023-05-09T17:01:35Z

I tried the v1.1 and I could not play this as the graphics quality is too high and it runs at 5fps, I have 32gb ram, gtx970 & Ryzen 5 2600, so I suppose many people won't be able to play either :/

Medieval Package Delivery Company by Link270 2023-05-10T09:35:17Z

As you're using unreal maybe I can help, an easy fix that doesn't need much work I can think of is calling these two methods somewhere when the game starts (could even be the beginplay of any level as long as it's only called once, as they'll take some time to process):

`UGameUserSettings::RunHardwareBenchmark`

`UGameUserSettings::ApplyHardwareBenchmarkResults`

This doesn't give any user control at all and it may look bad on some low end pcs but... at least in the worst case I think people will be able to play with the auto settings.

Anyways if you end up fixing it tag me please so we can give it a go, your entry looks very nice

DIVE or DIE! by PabloAbraham 2023-05-11T18:27:59Z

it feels very complicated at the beginning. I kept thinking "why are there so many buttons to do simple things?" the 3-screens long wall of text introduction doesn't help either, it's too much information at once that can't be fully understood unless you've played a bit the game, then things start to make sense but it's too hard to understand to be able to play properly. Also when digging the crystals kept falling on the ground and I couldn't pick them up, and the enemies didn't damage me at all for some reason. The art and the mood are very nice but the experience was very confusing overall :(

The Bear of Bad News by Daniel Username 2023-05-02T15:43:54Z

Really funny! tried to be a polite bear but ended up with a style of my own. Loved the bear walking animation

MagiCat by Flokami 2023-05-05T14:33:13Z

the art was incredible but the complexity of the design made the game quite difficult to play. We couldn't get past the first potion because we think we weren't able to figure out what the "non toxic ingredient" was (or because we kept failing at the rune creation, we aren't very sure). There are too many moving pieces at once and feels very fiddly, which is a shame because the idea has a lot of potential and depth. It's cool entry nonetheless, so thank you for making it

Mars Delivery Program by Erlioniel 2023-05-05T14:50:41Z

The mood is great and also the art is outstanding for a jam! driving the buggy was great but the game felt repetitive towards the end. Really nice entry

Eyes of Odin by Rocket and Blanky 2023-05-05T13:44:43Z

Good mood and nice menu & menu presentation, there's not much to the game part and there weren't any collisions so it didn't really add any kind of challenge, in the end I just waited for the raven to reach the end, or try to trespass as many towers as I could find on the way to make it more interesting. The idea was nice.

Delivery Corp. by darwyn 2023-05-02T14:48:10Z

Your itchio link is broken, seems you set up the edit page one instead of the game. It was an interesting take, though I felt it was lacking a bit of interactivity, at least at the beginning there was a lot of waiting time (and it took several seconds to see the money going up, would have been more satisfying having a continous stream of small numbers) The descriptions were funny and the presentation is great.

Too Hot to Hendl by Fis 2023-05-02T11:57:22Z

Very polished! The game felt great especially at the beginning but as the difficulty increased and the key objects to solve the puzzle started to be hidden & death was introduced, it started to feel a bit tedious, and the visual language wasn't that clear so it wasn't easy to know when you were going to find something or be able to jump & cross above different ledges. It was a cool entry overall though, and the art is nice. Also nice to learn about hendl.

I remember watching this video of game maker's toolkit and I think it makes cool points about difficulty, maybe you don't know it and are interested in checking it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2G84mU3WPaE

Special Delivery by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-05-11T18:02:18Z

This is great, We love this. the mechanics are solid and the level design is great, super simple yet engaging and the puzzles were interesting, thank you for making this! Excellent entry!

Slime Delivery Service by protowlf 2023-05-11T18:39:25Z

Really nice! the mechanics are cool and the levels are well designed! I kept thinking why couldn't I have unlimited slimes by dividing them multiple times (of course that would break the full design but it's something I'd like to do if I were a slime hehe) Congratulations on the entry! very solid (especially for being slimes 😅)

A Message for the Stone King by SelkieHarbour 2023-05-05T18:48:07Z

Thank you very much for all your feedback! It's true the digging minigame is a bit confusing but we wanted to put something to transition between the scenes and we didn't have much time left.

@dingledorf regarding the color blind options, unreal has a function you can call that changes the colorblind options so it's very easy to [implement](https://docs.unrealengine.com/5.1/en-US/API/Runtime/UMG/Blueprint/UWidgetBlueprintLibrary/SetColorVisionDeficiencyType/)

A Message for the Stone King by SelkieHarbour 2023-05-11T07:11:38Z

@leorid oh no, sorry it bugged out! Nobody has reported the same and I've looked at the code and everything seems fine, note that if you repeat the same message (or messages of the same category) the king will answer the same. Maybe it was that? Anyways, itchio recorded a gameplay you can find here ^^

Caravan Express by Brigart 2023-05-05T15:07:52Z

The download link is broken and the embedded version is hard to read because there's not a fullscreen button :(

Joopyland by mitsu.artemius 2023-05-05T13:54:00Z

I could not understand how to play it even after reading the instrucions :( I moved around with my car until I reched a spot where the guiding marker was aiming to and then I didn't know what to do. The car was a bit too fast to feel nice to control, but the sfx of crashing were well implemented and felt quite reactive

Xenoluv by TennoTako 2023-05-03T20:27:12Z

Funny idea, really creative! Really liked the paper characters. We've been looking forward to play this all day, it was worth it

The Curse of Sentience as a Delivery Box by vfewa 2023-05-05T14:18:55Z

The idea was fun but I felt I only had to move forward to complete the levels (especially the last ones). It was cool to have a bit of narrative on every different level.

LD54 — Limited Space

Compress(space) by Fahim Faysal 2023-10-03T18:13:09Z

the concept is super interesting and the puzzles are cool! I feel the mechanic is a bit too restrictive though, as I've spent more time thinking in what I'm allowed to do rather than in how to solve the puzzle, but it's still very nice. Thanks for the game!

Compress(space) by Fahim Faysal 2023-10-03T18:24:47Z

@fahim-faysal I'd say you made the right choice! it also looks quite a challenge to implement that mechanic. Prioritizing is always hard but even if the mechanic is limited it still feels solid.

But we still love each other by rongon 2023-10-12T18:30:01Z

it's the first game we see on the jam that tackles the same topic as our own! we played together and laughed!

Windows LD by thristhart 2023-10-03T17:26:08Z

this really brought me back, it's a shame you didn't have time to actually handle the disk space mechanics but I enjoyed the ride nonetheless

Eye See You by Almax 2023-10-03T16:20:15Z

I love the floor creating mechanic. It was a bit hard to understand what to do at the beginning, and I feel the eyes kept grabbing me from behind, so I was having fun and then I got a game over screen, which was annoying. I was also lacking an objective to fully exploit the dynamics that the terraforming tool can create, but it's still very nice, thanks for the game!

Mashroom by Nazorus 2023-10-03T18:02:18Z

we laughed when we figured the situation, the narrative was funny, thanks for the game!

Fit In Bed by SelkieHarbour 2023-10-03T13:09:04Z

thank you everyone for the nice comments!

@pikario sadly we don't have any plans to release it for linux (or mac) :(

Fit In Bed by SelkieHarbour 2023-10-03T19:47:44Z

@thebooksnail could you tell us your computer specifications please? that'll help us to identify the issue because it doesn't seem very common and looks hardware related

@mortusnegati thanks for the feedback, it's true that it can be hard to move the bodies across different heights but we run out of time to polish that part of the interaction, sorry it became too frustrating 🙇‍♂️

Fit In Bed by SelkieHarbour 2023-10-04T16:12:02Z

@thebooksnail we've just pushed a fix for that issue that was relatively common for some specific gpus. You and any other person that was experiencing this issue should be able to play without any issues if you download the version 1.0.1 form itchio.

Thank you so much for noticing us about the issue and helping us by sharing your specs, it allowed us to fix the issue quite fast ✨

Fit In Bed by SelkieHarbour 2023-10-09T10:39:31Z

@pikario @winie in the end we've updated our itchio page with an untested linux version now, in case you still want to try it out. We don't have a linux machine so we can't know for sure if the build is good, so any feedback is appreciated. Thx!

Fit In Bed by SelkieHarbour 2023-10-09T15:29:00Z

@mrtroy thank you! we're loving that cat in the face hahaha

I'll set what you've just said as itchio instructions to play in linux if you don't mind, maybe it also helps @milq
