I beat the game! I love the story! And the art style is great!
A few notes: I flew past the castle at the end of the valley by mistake and it kept flying, maybe add a dying/respawn mechanic if you leave the map. And I didn't see any options I could change in the option menu, showed up blank for me.
Do you guys have a discord or a support page with your work? I'd love to check some more out! Keep it up people!
Thanks @jobi-drungus!
You bring up good points, we appreciate the feedback. I've added these to our bug tracker and we'll push an update once it's fixed. We made the options menu early on and may just remove it, since it doesn't have any use atm.
We don't have a public discord server yet, but we'll consider making one! I'll post updates to this page and on GitHub, so you can track the games progress there.
Thanks for your kind words and honest feedback, it made my day!
Sincerely, Rocket AKA Nick

Cool story and nice scenario! I just wished the level design was more immersive and complex :)
Thanks @argaf!

I think you guys did a great job pairing the audio, art and story. Gives a unique and cool mood that I enjoyed. One thing I found difficult was that if I missed the perch at the end, my character would keep flying on and I would have to restart the game to try again.

Poor message ravens always getting blasted in films and media. I liked doing loop de loops
Great game, loved the cutscenes and music. I did find myself underneath the ground/outside of the map quite a bit, but fun overall
@shredmer Thank you, it was a team effort. The voice acting was done in 10 minutes with an H1n Handy Recorder. Got some nice reverb from the small room we recorded in. The video editing was done in Premiere Pro. Lastly, the collision issue is high priority for us. Just needed some time to go into a coma after the jam ended haha. I'll post updates in the comments for bugs pointed out by the community. Thank you!
@nuin Ik, right. We want the raven in our game to feel strong and agile. They are the Eyes of Odin! Ogfrid will set you straight if you catch a stray arrow. I loved playing with the roll ('Q' and 'E'), too! I often found myself flying around for fun over the weekend, exploring the map. The animations helped the game feel tremendously. We were all super impressed with @Blanky-and-Rocket's work on the model, rigging, animations, and animation scripting, etc., in such a short time frame. It's a tough problem to solve, because it relies on a synergy of creative and logical thought. Bravo!
@thefatgalaboo the music was all made by @Blanky-and-Rocket using BeepBox.co and good old fashion music theory.
Thanks for all the comments, everyone! It brings us a lot of joy to read about how your experiences and think about how they can make us better developers and mixed-media artists.

Pretty cool concept. You all did a good job on the story. There were a couple of things I ran into though. I found that I could fly upside down lol so that was fun. I could also fly through a few of the towers and on the last tower back to Ogfrid I crashed into his tower and the art showed the splatted raven, but the audio was saying that I won and the raven was pecking some bits of meat.
Thanks for making this game!

Great music, great dubbing!Hope there will be a skip button, needed for replay.
@pyspher9 Haha, I expanded the box for the collider that triggers the cutscenes to balance it a little. If you follow the arches it sets you up for a nice trajectory, but getting back in line with the perch can be a challenge otherwise. The way it used to work was the collider was in the perch archway, but I worried it might be too hard and take away from the progression. What was important to us was that as long as you got to the tower, the raven would be smart enough, from a lore perspective, to land and take care of his business. I go back and forth on it, but we're still figuring out what the *game* in our game *is*. Is this a temple-run or a flight sim RPG?
Thanks for playing and leaving feedback!
Excellent game you have here man!! Wish the gameplay was much longer!!! Great music and voice acting in the cut scenes!
Sometimes i could fly out of the level making harder at first but it is good game! Good submission in the game~!
Also play my game!

Clearly a lot of work was invested into the presentation here, but...the game itself feels very very thin? I will admit I aimed for the arches at first thinking they were necessary to proceed only to realize they were just scenery. Very atmospheric, even though it's literally just a straight flight from point A to point B and then back again. I'll also admit that with as close as the camera is to the raven's back, it manages to feel claustrophobic despite being a game about flight. (And I was a bit perturbed to realize there's nothing stopping you from diving down through the mist and looking up to see arches and towers floating in the air!)
Also, "Options" on the title screen doesn't work, and there's no way back to the title screen from "Credits."
Was the art created for the game, by the way? It looks hand-painted - which is very very nice, given I've seen a game this LD with unsettling AI-generated assets.

The title screen, movement, art, rigging, dedication and voice acting are all very cool. The game itself misses some purpose due to the lack of collision and unclarity of what the lives are for. There's also no limit you can reach, both down as well as up, causing the player to be able to avoid both the environment as well as the arrows.
Lot of potential and passion though!
Good mood and nice menu & menu presentation, there's not much to the game part and there weren't any collisions so it didn't really add any kind of challenge, in the end I just waited for the raven to reach the end, or try to trespass as many towers as I could find on the way to make it more interesting. The idea was nice.
@ryusui No bots here! My husband @rocket-and-blanky did the sketches for our cinematics and I did paintovers on his work. And yep, all was created this weekend for the game. :)
Also, still working on some persistent bugs with the colliders. This causes issues with lives not being lost, tower collisions doing nothing & map boundaries not working. Hopefully we'll be able to resolve it soon!
Wahou, i didn't expected game with voice acting! Realy nice and the idea was interresting. One of the best entries for me. Some lack of collision but nothing realy blocking.
@flying-butter-studio Thank you, that means a lot to us! I'm glad you were able to see past some of the issues we've been having :D
Damn the art in this one, and the mood. Played it on my stream if you're interested heres the VOD: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1812362155

Artworks are beautiful! And hey, nice voice acting! It always has room to improve, but that's a good start! Some tips for improving the controls and feel.
You should bring the camera back and make 2 game objects, parented to crow. First, roughly at the desired camera position. Second - slightly in front of the crow. Unparent camera from everything. Let the camera's position Lerp to 1st game object position with time and let the camera "lookAt" 2nd point - boom, you have a cool following camera! Also you can lerp angle between the camera and the crow, so that it can roll properly.
If you give the crow some inertia and set steering angle to gradually increase while button is held - boom, you have fluent flight mechanics! Sterring the crow now was somewhat hard, but collisions seems to be missing somehow, i think, so I finished the game without any problems =D
Great work, team! =D
Wow that was hardcore. The raven was a little janky, but metal af
@weeping-rupee I found the video! That was a lot of fun to watch, thanks for sharing it. Your eyeball hands are dope af. Good feedback on the open-world bird mechanics, we're gonna look into that. For a challenge, I like to go through all the arcs, but we didn't put in a reset button and the cutscenes aren't skippable so the replay value is mega-low. Would have been nice to put a counter for each one you fly through. Idk if that counts as a bug, though.
@skleembof Haha, a lil jank never hurt nobody. Thanks for playing!
@dexort Thank you! We are always looking to improve and this kind of feedback goes a long way to making us better developers.

@blanky-and-rocket glad to hear) I wanted to make the second song too, but it's allmost 4 in the morning where I live, so it's about time to go to bed) You can use it, if you want, I'd be happy, if you only mention me somewhere in credits) If I'll have some free time tomorrow, I can try to remake your second song, but no promises. Just beware, so it might be unfair to use this music in actual jam build, so you better make a note somewhere, that it was made post-jam. From Russia with love, your Dexort. =D

Really cool mood for this game - the opening screen was really lookign cool; plus I loved the drawn art and the voice art for the story was also really sounded cool. When the raven was flying it also looked cool, however the mechanics were a bit too simple for now. Anyhow I can certainly see this could be improved to a very enjoyable game mechanic.

That's one super quality voice acting!

The title screen is awesome, and I love the artwork and storytelling. The flying mechanics could use some work though.
nice moody game haha. are those flying arrows? they were just like gusts on the wind lol. Really felt like i was flying around as a raven :D
@hotaloca thanks!
@asfdfdfd careful, I might do more.
@someone agreed, the flight controller is hard but we're iterating on it. thank you!
@commanderstitch haha, yes they are. i found out how to add a trail and couldn't help myself. not sure if it helps or hurts the game, though. helped hide the physics of the arrows not arcing like a real arrow would. atm its a script that rotates the arrow over time, instead of a properly weighted physics object. glad you had a nice experience.
This was really quite cool! You get a million style points, however I wish the game was a little harder... You can fly high enough so the arrows don't reach you, and even withing range the arrows are not really a threat. The controls feel good enough to make the game a little more action heavy. All in all a really solid entry!

Rather easy to play game that almost makes you feel like a bird. Liked it.
Nice concept. Some black norse metal here is a must! And more fun enemies and/or dashes.

pretty cool! I can tell you went all in on creating a cool atmosphere, the voice acting and artwork are quite nice. In hindsight the suggestions I'd make are keeping the cool shaders from title screen in the game as well for a more unique look, maybe have some of the voice acting happen during gameplay and not just over the still images. regardless, well done!
The graphics in this game are visually immersive, with richly detailed environments and character models that make the game world feel alive and vibrant
I really liked this idea. It is quite realistic to refine into a full-fledged game. This version has an inconvenient controller. There were not enough obstacles that would really add complexity. The arrows were flying somewhere else. There was not enough time limit or intermediate points, forcing to change the direction of flight. I liked the atmospheric soundtrack. Good job! I hope you finish this game.
The cutscenes are great - full voice acting is rare on jam games, and it so greatly improves atmosphere.
Did the options button work? Didn't seem so to me - says jam game all over! I like it!
Few things that could be improved: - Currently it is extremely hard to die (arrows miss almost all the time) - There is not enough obstacles - Increase/decrease speed of raven could be utilized
Also, do you know you can maneuver to fly in wrong direction?
Oh, and I think I nailed a way to win:
