I didn't fully understand everything and how to use the machines. But the atmosphere is amazing, and the audio and graphics are great! Cool game :)

dexort 2023-05-04 22:08

Game looks and sounds astonishing! But somhow it's very hard to control. Allmost imposible. Maybe we do something wrong, but the platform and machines feel very unresponsive. Maybe you did something wrong while exporting? You can download it and check for yourself i think.

Increadible graphics and Atmosphere!! I, too, struggled to figure out the controls, after a while I managed to find out how to move the platform up and down and collected some crystals. But at a certain level the platform got stuck and my fps started going down the drain. At some point it was seconds per frame rather than frames per second. As a final act i lifted the platform to the top and walked off screen lol

tebiondl 2023-05-10 20:43

Wow, pretty damn cool.

karreg 2023-05-10 20:48

It looks like you made a great amount of work (and a good one !), but you didn't work sufficiently to make your game accessible. I didn't understand how to play your game. There is too many text at the begining, no other way to read the tutorial again. And even the controls are cryptics.

example bad wording.png

My reaction reading this : "Uuh, one word difference, okay then.. Will see".

Even the character didn't move as I expected. Sometimes he walks quickcly, sometimes he slows down.

I REALLY wanted to like this game. The artwork and visual design is amazing, easily the best I've come across this jam. But I just wasn't having fun while playing.

Massive walls of text at the start that I think I would struggle to use even if I had a photographic memory. Clunky controls and interactions - when it worked (I assume?) it felt unresponsive, and then it just straight up didn't half the time. I got stuck in the elevator controls at one point and had to reset, and I couldn't ever get any of the crystals to deliver either. I'm sure the music and sounds were great but I couldn't hear them because of a constant static/hissing sound that was playing nonstop once I got off the instructions.

I think the concept for this game was super unique too - and the visuals really fit what this game could be. It sadly just didn't live up to the potential for me.

P.S. Please go again next jam if you can guys. Your team has so much potential and I want to see it used effectively. I wish you the best of luck if you do.

Very Great graphic, love the music and art, but the gameplay felt too simple and it would had been great if there was a little bit more action...

tyrannas 2023-05-10 21:44

Amazing Art, sound and Mood !! About the gameplay itself, I'm not sure to have understand everything since it's a bit late here and I didnt have th strength to read all the manual pages but I was able to dig with the machine and collect crystals which I believe is the main part of the game ? Anyway great job on the visuals again, love your style! Update: read the description and there seems to be so much more! I'll check again tomorrow!

eli-heinrichs 2023-05-11 01:32

The game was a bit hard to figure out at the start but once I understood how everything worked it was great! The art style and mood was astounding and really brought the game to life. The gameplay once learned is great and has a good loop to keep me interested. Great game!

frelude 2023-05-11 08:26

Very good looking game in the spirit of 'Dome keeper'. There is too much text at start, I just read the controls part and it wasn't enough for me to understand. one thing I was missing was 'Hold right button to spawn robot/fill storage'. Another is that I did not understand why I was dying, I suppose my headquarter was attacked, but it was not obvious. Other than that the game is gorgeous, with a neat atmosphere. The thumbnail standout. You did a great job in a short amount of time. Well done.

likirus 2023-05-11 08:29

Absolutely stunning looking game with a great atmosphere. Unfortunately, I wasn't really able to figure out how to progress, all I managed to do was to create a few robots and take them with me, but then I got stuck. Also, a bit too much text at the beginning. After reading a bit, I skipped the rest, so maybe that was my problem, but with so many talented people on your team, maybe you could have made the turotial a bit more interactive and slowly introduced the features one by one, instead of a big wall of text in the beginning.

darchankaen 2023-05-11 09:14

Great game, very interesting idea. Also nice artwork and atmosphere and overall aesthetics.

Personal for me, in total, controls is not so intuitive and with some kind of in-game menu will be better.

But, project is really promising. Good work!

skleembof 2023-05-11 15:41

A combination of technical issues and poorly explained mechanics made the game very difficult to play. Sometimes the character would drop a crystal on the mining platform, and the game wouldn't let me pick it up. I would have to leave the platform, hold the collect button, and then walk back onto the platform to pick up the crystal. I also could not build any robots, the ring that forms around the robot icon would stutter just short of completing and the robot would not build. Because of the lack of feedback (other than the stuttering) I didn't know if this meant the game was glitched or I didn't have enough crystals. Then the enemies would steal my crystals and I had no way to protect myself so all I could do was wait for them to pass before filling the platform storage, or just slowly climb back up whenever my bag was full.

The concept is cool, the graphics are beautiful, and the amount of work you guys did in such a short amount of time is very impressive. Unfortunately the lack of polish on the mechanics got in the way of the gameplay

selkieharbour 2023-05-11 18:27

it feels very complicated at the beginning. I kept thinking "why are there so many buttons to do simple things?" the 3-screens long wall of text introduction doesn't help either, it's too much information at once that can't be fully understood unless you've played a bit the game, then things start to make sense but it's too hard to understand to be able to play properly. Also when digging the crystals kept falling on the ground and I couldn't pick them up, and the enemies didn't damage me at all for some reason. The art and the mood are very nice but the experience was very confusing overall :(

rodrigo-denubila 2023-05-11 21:56

The art and aesthetics are amazing! I really liked what I saw. But, as said in previous comments, It's too hard to figure out what I have to do. I think that would be great if we have a in-game tutorial and a progression instead of a wall of text in the beginning.

alexsandro 2023-05-12 14:39

Incredible! For me, finding out how the game works is a fun part.

francis 2023-05-12 17:05

Overall: this was a really cool idea! It's very Dome Keeper-esque, and I like the idea of building base defenses while exploring. **You guys did a fantastic job with the art and visual style, it's absolutely gorgeous and such a mood.** I'm sad there were so many issues that prevented me from being able to play it as you guys envisioned it.

Others have already left good feedback about the wall-of-text, but I understand its a jam, and sometimes there's not enough time. A couple of suggestions I have for you to consider for the next jam: - Make the 'manual' accessible from within the game with a very noticeable big button. - Much simpler than making a tutorial. The problem is two-fold: people don't want to read pages of text before playing, people aren't going to remember everything or know what you're talking about without first playing around. By having it accessible in the game, they can reference the manual as they see fit. - Simplify the game!! - Do you really need two different types of robots? I think just having the default one gets the point across for the jam. - Do you really need two different types of currency? What if there were only blue crystals, and the 'golden crystals' were just clusters of 10 blue crystals? - Does there really need to be a machine fabricator at the top and on the drilling platform? - There were a lot of technical issues and lack of player feedback that I wasn't quite sure what was working as intended and what was not. **Reducing the scope would make the game simpler to understand, and allow you to build a more compelling and polished 'vertical slice' of the game.** Technical issues I noticed: - The player movement sometimes slows down and pauses, until I stop and start moving again. - The footstep audio sometimes plays twice, causing it to be very annoying, until I stop and start moving again. - The instructions said to "hold left button to take control of the robot", but that didn't work for me, I could only tell it to move around. I'm not sure that the robot even did anything. It didn't seem to shoot, just sometimes the enemies would 'disappear'. - If an enemy 'disappeared' while holding a crystal, I don't get it back. - The robot would sometimes move to an invalid location that's off the lift. One time it just disappeared.

Gameplay comments: - Movement is very slow, so venturing far from the lift is very un-fun. I would suggest either making the tunnels shorter, or placing more interesting things there. - There's not a lot of space on the lift for having robots for defending. Even with just one it would get in the way. What if the robots were flying instead of on the platform? That way you don't need to move them around and it also simplifies that component.

Very impressive work!I really like the visuals and the mood. My problems are that its a bit buggy(which is fine in a game jam) but most of the machines didnt really work so the game was just going down endlessly and collecting crystals. The turrest didnt shoot and when I went up I couldnt deposit the gems so I didnt reall have much to do tho the game has a very cool atmosphere!

shuimen 2023-05-14 16:27

Nice work! Amazing graphics and mood! I'm confused at first (maybe more direct guide). But still nice work! I like it!

benjamin 2023-05-16 16:03

After two or three tries I was able to build a robot but it was really hard to move. I was never able to bring him to the platform. When I point the red laser to it the robot only move to the cliff. Also I was unable to use the right side machine which was supposed to transform gems. The game is very ambitious, there's a lot of graphic and sfx work, mixing all your assets and work into this single game in only 72h is a proof of great teamwork ! Congratulations !

roka-josh 2023-05-17 14:01

This is an incredibly good looking and sounding entry although I did have some issues with the controls at times. Occasionally the character would come to a stop even though I was still holding down the movement keys and double inputs with interacting with machinery. Overall though, amazing work!

josh-bothun 2023-05-18 06:30

This game has immense potential, its extremely polished for a jam entry. The atmosphere, audio, visuals and mood are really well done, it looks *fantastic*.

The problem I have is simply that the game is not fun yet, mostly because its a bit too slow and the controls are a bit janky. I think if the mechanics were simplified a bit and the controls given some love, this could easily be a top 10 entry. Really nice work everyone involved on this project.

mountaininn 2023-05-18 08:34

Looks and sounds good this game but really hard to control and not enough feedback when interacting with devices. It's like im not sure what input does what even though i've read the manual. One of my robots was getting sucked into the tunnel i dug every time it tried to step onto the platform. In summary: needs polish on UI/UX and robot physics.

tan90 2023-05-19 03:23

This is really an amazing game, and I really like the art style and sound production of the game, including the entire setting, which is very interesting and can be rated as perfect in terms of art. But unfortunately, I don't know how to play this game? Perhaps there are more instructions on how to play? I believe it will be a fun game
