LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep Root by blackoptics8 2021-05-17T00:10:58Z

Cool little game with a unique take on the theme! Great art with clean UI; thirst level thingy around the cursor was hard to notice at first but that's probably the best spot to put that. Had fun playing it!

Safe Cave by Papaver 2021-04-28T18:01:34Z

Quick and fun game with a good level design! It's good that the beam gets wider as you get down which makes it harder to juggle it back and forth and forces you to use the terrain more to your advantage. I only wish the cows had more of a use in platforming since they were so cute.

Cool game overall!

Syvyys by toilari 2021-05-06T16:21:56Z

A simple but nice roguelike with cool particle effects. Some of the enemy attacks were hard to decipher at first and the pacing was a bit slow for me but overall the game has a great atmosphere. Good job!

Ponzimulator by AlexisMartineau 2021-05-06T18:37:06Z

Very funny game that immediately gets you in the mood with a cool intro! Gameplay is pretty simple which starts chill but it quickly evolves into an FPS aim trainer. Music and sound design was gorgeous. Great game with a unique approach to the theme.

Spooky Ocean Game by CasualNothing 2021-05-16T18:33:13Z

The soundtrack was great! Definitely enhances the feeling of getting deeper. The inconsistency of art style between the player and everything else was off-putting to me. Cool game overall; it was fun to explore and roam around the ocean.

Caves of the Forgotten by CorbenG 2021-04-28T18:28:24Z

The walk animation is super cool! I was always wondering what the next waiver would be about which was what made me keep going down. Platforming was cool but simple; would love to get introduced to just another simple mechanic that helps me move around at mid-game.

After all absolutely cool compo entry, kudos to you for creating this in 48h.

Fast Flats! by Stending 2021-10-06T20:53:12Z

A really cool idea with a cooler way of implementation. It is fun trying to jam stuff to the walls in the hope of keeping them stable. Rotating the view is also a nice addition. Congrats to the team!

Unsmith by shide 2021-10-06T16:11:34Z

Hey, I couldn't open up the game both on my Android phone and an emulator on PC, it's stuck on a grey screen. Did you test it on a different device?

Space Scavenging by namnam 2021-10-06T19:20:00Z

It is very pleasing to play after getting the hang of the movement! Shooting boxes into each other and getting 2-3 boxes onto the boat at once feels pretty cool. Congrats!

Darkness In Bloom by Simon Rahnasto 2021-10-06T16:03:31Z

A simple mechanic executed nicely, I really liked how you could restore life to the enemies and bring them back to life. Changing player sprites based on lifeforce/chaos is a nice touch. The ending was good, made me question my actions for a second there. Cool entry overall, congrats to the team!

A Wild Sheep Chase by Rost 2021-10-19T09:01:48Z

Cool idea, small tweaks to movement speeds and the herding range would make it feel smoother. It's nearly impossible to herd multiple sheep at once which restricts the player to only herd a simple sheep to the end then repeat.

Nevertheless, very solid solo entry. Congrats!

Hazmat Magic by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-10-06T02:47:34Z

I really like how you introduce each new mechanic to the player, it feels like a journey overall. Your level design skills are top-notch, simple but effective graphics are highly complimentary to the general vibe of the game. Been a fan since last jam, you created your own style and it is a pleasure to experience your games. Kudos!

Buzzing Orchard by mharring 2021-10-06T03:03:37Z

My favorite genre, felt really good and chill watching people wander around my stands after building them :D. Soundtrack was awesome, status information on objects are really useful. Very solid entry, congrats to the team!

Understable by vidim888 2021-10-16T13:48:43Z

Hey, this is a really cute game! Introducing different mechanics as you move on kept me interested and curious. Being able to pause the drain threw me off; I would love to fill just enough of each color and try to time it along the level. Art is pretty cute, level design is complimentary to the mechanics. Great entry, congrats to both of you!

AFTER SUN by rufson 2021-10-06T03:18:34Z

From the intro scene to the ending, it feels like a complete game! Polished very well, absolutely loved the SFX. Amazing game for a solo developer, congratulations!

The Imbalance by GingerNingerish 2021-10-07T20:39:19Z

I really like the Game Boy style, this was a fun ride for me. The movement smoothing threw me off sometimes; I'd like more snappy and responsive movement but that's not a real problem at all. The Game Boy color palette, the pixel art, the music... everything feels so great. Congrats!

Unfinished by toilari 2021-10-06T18:48:41Z

Guys what a game! Straight into the atmosphere with a creepy soundtrack, you let the player explore the story step by step using articles and notes. The character's monologues help the player connect the dots and grasp the story more easily. Key combination room was refreshing after all the reading and trying to understand the story stuff. My favorite scene was easily the ghosts coming out of the mirror. The ending was predictable after all the tips the character gave us but really cool nonetheless. Overall really good job for a 72 hour game, it is packed with a whole story and lots of pixel art assets.

Huge congrats to the team, I encourage you to play&rate other games and increase your Smart Balance; it will be easier for other people to find and play your game because this game needs more attention.

Ouch! by Gabriel Chan 2021-10-06T19:05:58Z

Really cool idea, cute graphics and chill gameplay. I was kinda rotating objects before starting by dropping them onto the corners of other items, helped me cover small open areas :D. Congrats to the team, nice entry overall.

In Balance by OlayColay 2021-10-06T02:18:51Z

Intro scene and interacting with stuff around the house was cool! I would definitely focus more on the combat system and UI since it is turn-based and it lacks showing very important information like an element UI or an indicator of the current target. Different soundtracks and a special one for the boss battle is a nice touch. Congrats!

Abyss' Stare by Vinícius Pessoa 2021-10-16T14:40:19Z

Wow, the atmosphere makes you feel uncomfortable really quick! The ambient sounds, scary SFX, unexpected light bulb pops, 2D lights with shadow casters... everything sets the mood perfectly. The only thing breaking the flow for me is the timing being too tight. Just a couple of extra seconds would be way better at least in the first few levels. Very solid entry, congrats to the whole team!

Tip-See-Saw by MickyHC 2021-10-06T01:42:38Z

Really nice game for a first-timer, good job! Little mechanics like collecting spare parts for movement speed or altering Tipsy's weight by carrying more/less boxes feels very good. Although it's harder to spot individual boxes as timer goes up, I'd love to see a tiny variation in box types; lighter or heavier boxes with different sizes would make it look cooler and feel more alive. Very nice entry overall!
