I was not expecting an RTS style game. Cool ideas, sadly a little too empty. I spent most of the time just walking around in areas with zombies.

It was a cool little game and I enjoyed the music and looks. Biggest complaint is that it can be hard to get the people to move exact where you want them too. Otherwise great
Music was pretty good I must say.
This game was pretty good, the pixel art was good, the gameplay fit in with the theme very well and it's a gameplay style I've never seen before. however, the gameplay itself was rather lackluster, I found that the best strategy was to let everyone else die and to run around barricading myself in rooms as long as I could, this was partly due to me not understanding how combat worked. also the music was pretty good to start off with, but as the game dragged on the music became droning and hard to listen to due to it being a short loop.. overall pretty solid!
This is probably the only zombie game I've seen so far! Props for creativity.
Apocalypse Mall, first of all, has probably the most banging soundtrack I've heard in a Ludum Dare game, possibly ever. I have the game open in another tab as I write this review - I'm jamming to it as I write. Don Juan has some serious musical chops, and the art he made is noticeably pretty as well.
Speaking of having the game open in another tab, though: the way the pathfinding was programmed makes it pretty hard to lose this game, as enemies can frequently get stuck when trying to attack your players. The hunger mechanic means you can't just hide in a cheap corner the entire game, but it's still very much exploitable for the player's advantage.
Lovely work!
the camera is kinda buggy, it was confusing at first, but not bad.
cool idea over all, if it was very polished it could be super cool
idk if the zombies got stuck or they take forever to break the barricades..
Liked the concept, but didn't really understand the theme, the camera is a little jarring to control too. Like the character sprites and was fun to explore the mall - had 10 seconds left when my barricade broke on my last survivor. Nice job
Fun game about a group of friends just trying to make it through the zombie apocalypse at the local mall. I liked the way that you control a group of survivors instead of just a single hero. It also made it not too painful when a person succumbed to the horde. I tried walling myself in, only to realize that you could easily starve to death if the zombies didn't break down the walls in time to let me out.
Nice pixel work, great soundtrack. Don and Tony - great work rolling this out in 72 hours in a new engine. Lightyears beyond where I would be in Godot.

I got undead. I enjoyed the RTS aspects of it. I'm going to have to revisit this until I beat it.
Really cool to see an RTS style game. Pixel art was pretty cute, but many of the mechanics were a little bit wonky. The exact collisions were not too clear, like with zombies, I suggest using "soft" collisions instead! Also the barricade system was a bit too easy, as I could set down a bunch of barricades at once and camp out there, I suggest letting it so that only one survivor make a barricade at a time so it's not all overlapping!
Other than that, a great take on the theme and has a ton of potential, I could see it being even more interesting to manage multiple survivors that have different roles or stats!
I found it a little confusing to understand the controls at first, even with on-screen help. I don't know, something is missing. \It looks different and innovative but I don't think it works overall. The characters should be together at the beginning I believe.
I found your game to be quite enjoyable, especially with the RTS mechanics. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to make it until the rescue point.
I had fun playing. There were a few collision issues though. Once a survivor got stuck to a plant and I couldn't move them away. Had to switch to another character. Also some of the teal walls to the right of the start area didn't seem like the collisions or maybe the depth wasn't set up correctly. Overall concept was fun to play.
Excellent concept and execution, the graphics and setting set the tone really well too.
Really nice graphics and music. Can zombies brake barricades ? I could have just finish with one guy hiding behind a whole bunch of them if not one zombie glitch through my setup :/
Cool RTS controls! I found it a bit easy (zombies can't pathfind). More zombies (or more difficult zombies) + less time would be a pretty fun tradeoff for this game. Trying to zip past them in tight corridors was the highlight of the gameplay for me.
