I enjoyed the artstyle of this game :)
here's a video of me playing the game:

Yea.. I wasn't really sure how to be good at this game :/ I enjoyed the idea of it and the art (both graphics and visuals), but didn't really get it. I feel like this game has a lot of potential tho!
The controls felt right and it was fun to dodge the enemies bullets (sometimes)
Overall great effort! I hope you enjoyed your time jamming. Maybe give my game a try, if you like.
@im-not-a-robot thank you SO much for playing our game and uploading it! We really appreciate the feedback. We definitely ran out of time to fine-tune the experience, but your kind words motivate us to keep improving the game! I will definitely try your game after work today. Cheers!
very cool! Love the look of the game. The art style is so consistent across the whole game. And unlike most jam games that I've seen this actually has a clear art direction. A little bit more animation and feedback would be nice tho. The boat flashing white when hit, for example, could have added a lot. The music was also great. The gameplay was fun and functional. Great job.

I really love the theme you choose and art style! The music also shows a great mood and surroundings that I am battling on the river or sea! Nice work!

Very Stylish and great sounding game. Well done on completing and submitting!
Loved how you simplified the classic pirates mechanic! Great way to cut corners without sacrificing the main concept.

Very nice entry! Was not sure what the soda bottles were for or how to use it. Biggest issue is how I felt like cannon balls were always low on stock and wasn't able to go get more.
Other than that, the visuals and audio were great. I loved the style. A good ol pirates game always hits a sweet spot for me. Character design and world was really cool.
Good job!
Nice game, really loved the art and the music (especially that metal track! :guitar:). I didn't get what those cans were for and at one point I had -1 cannon balls, but I could buy one to get back to zero (making cannon ball debts, luckily there was no interest on them). The enemy ships really were cannon boll sponges - sometimes I had to hit them like 5 or 6 times - that felt like a lot especially regarding the limited inventory space.
After learning the ropes, I like this game. I find it easy to be powerful, just need to overpower the towns, shoot other ships and repeat. That reminds me, what do the cans do? it takes space but that seems to be the only thing they do.
Took me a while to learn how to play but after that it was challenging enough. One problem I noticed is that if an attack against a town fails, no notice is given. Other than that, the game seemed to work smoothly enough. The audio in this game is fantastic.

The art goes a long way with setting the fun mood in this, love it :) The rock music is a real different choice that makes the game memorable as well lol. Bit hard to tell what some of the items in the game do & the X marks the spot cursor took some serious getting used to, but I had fun playing it! Good work
I have no idea what's happening but it looks so nice and colorful
I love the art in this, it's super polished. Tricky to decide what to put on the ship, it's a fun little game!

Nice work. Liked the idea of needing pirates for looting towns and getting gold, and needing cannonballs for other pirate ships, and having to resupply after you loot enough towns. Cannonballs were too sparse to survive for long, so I felt like I met an inevitable doom pretty early, but I got the idea of the game well enough with what was there. Good luck getting 20 ratings!
