Slightly nauseating with the delayed full camera rotation, but amusing. Good job.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD48 → One More Lap!

It looks nice and fun, but I don't think that it fits the theme ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Aesthetic
@alexey-kuzovkov - yeah, I figured that was going to be the case. I tried to capture "deeper into madness" but I was too timid to be blunt about it in the text. I felt putting "deeper and deeper into madness" in the game would have been too on the nose. Do you think that would have helped? Or would the theme still be too loose?
I managed to get 214, then i lost my patience, Best game i played so far, dialogue was amazing, it was really fun to get better and better, my best lap was 05.602 i believe! Super nice dialogue! this was also my first!
I do not know why but i keep driving beacause I was scared of missing something :D. At the end I thought it wasn't looping but it was... I mean I guess... I hope... (made it to 177 :D) . Good job BTW :)
Well done, Harrison! Thanks for inviting me to make a tune.
Nice little game, was anything else after the quit button? I pressed it and I regret it
@axeltherabbit yes, there's more. Thank you so much for playing!
I did 24 laps and then I stopped believing you  The different lap messages made it fun, but I kinda wished the game itself changed more over time. Good Job!
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa......
At 25 laps, I set the limit to 30, while my little sister was begging to see the secret ending.

@good-enough it seems popular with kids! I shared it with a few friends that let their kids play. Ages 8-13 really enjoyed it and begged the parents to keep playing. Glad your lil sister enjoyed it :)
Simple, fun and elegant. The dialog was humorous and I found myself getting more engaged and into it the further I went. At first it was a little dizzying but that faded away after lap 10. Good job Harrison!
Definitely my favorite so far. Such a great take on the theme, I couldn't stop going deeper and deeper. Gave me Stanley Parable vibes in that it very quickly stopped being about the racing and much more about the relationship/conversation with the ... narrator (you, I guess, haha). I really loved this one, awesome job.
This was kind of weirdly relaxing. After a while I started driving in reverse and driving the wrong way. I was slightly disappointed that the game didn't acknowledge that, but at least I was able to do it to break the monotony for a bit. :) I actually did 200 laps and then stopped. My best lap was 05.517. I wasn't paying a lot of attention to the lap times, but I did enjoy when I started to get better and doing smooth laps without hitting the walls. :D
Stopped at ~200 like the rest of the comments, was still expecting another fakeout though lol
Awesome game. Have kept on playing to see if it will fit the theme. It did lol
Nice job! Curiosity really kept me going through these laps despite the taunting. Tested driving backwards and it still counted, so kudos for that!
150 laps 5.83 best
Very fun, the comments on each lap completed stopped it from being boring. I liked the sound effects and music too, they fit the game well.
The messages made this a really enjoyable experience, good job!
thank you for the quit button
First funny game! Well done.
hi, Very fun to control. Reminds me a bit of GTA 1. As others said, doesn't fit the theme super well but I still liked it a lot. Had fun!
I can't believe this is the best game I've played for the jam so far... I made it to lap 60 before my patience ran out haha. As others have said I think you could have made the level look a little different as time went on.. maybe the car could go super slow for a lap or the walls are really bouncy, or the level is pitch black. Well done!
5.682 was my best. Couldn't get close to it again. Really good at getting 6.000 though.
Well done with the comments, they really keep the engagement up. Mechanics are smooth, sound isn't overbearing and fits well.
Good work!
6.366 my best - kept playinf for more than 50 laps - guess I waited. The dialogue kept me engaged - good job!
I love the concept. Although I must say that I am feeling a bit dizzy now. It's a bit unfortuante that the theme was missing completely (at least I did't see it). Amazing how just some funny messages can be enough motivation to go round after round. Well done.
I'm not sure it really fits the theme but who cares, it was fun! The only reason I kept driving around the laps was the witty comments at the end of the lap XD. Nice work for your first game jam! You'll score more points if you *somehow* manage to weave in the theme with the game even if it's metaphysical mumbo jumbo. I notice that you mention "Deeper into madness" in an earlier comment, which would have been just fine. Maybe hallucinogenic rabbits on pogo sticks make an appearance and it gets more bizarre with every lap? Anyway, I look forward to your next game jam game!
@madr - thanks!
@themoonrise - Yeah, the dizzy can be real. But I personally dislike steering controls with a fixed camera. It gets wonky. Did you play fullscreen? The default in-browser size is less dizzying.
@reallyqbert - thanks for playing! yeah, I started brainstorming with "deeper into madness" -> "insanity" -> "repeating something and expecting different results" and then tried to weave those bits back in as a built it. There's text that mentions madness and "deeper into nothingness" but I didn't want to be too heavy-handed with the theme. I'm happy with the result, even if the final product is far-removed from the theme.
I really, really hated this game, in the best way. I made it to round 142 (and I got really good at drifting by then). I really hope there wasn't a secret ending I missed lol. I was planning on playing and rating lots of games but I just played this one for way too long...
@koalaura this is the highest praise I could have asked for <3 thanks for playing!
Really fun game, reminded me a lot of "There is no game." My best was 151 laps. Good work :D
I love the story, super fun! Driving controls could be improved a bit but honestly that's part of the charm of the game in my opinion. Legitimately chuckled while playing the game, great job!
I played as many loops as there were Pokemon in my childhood. Wow. Did I play your game or did you just play me?
I just had to go to the sources and see how many story bits you had. This game just got on a very meta level! Good job!
Nice little game, it would have been perfect for the previous ludum dare, "stuck in a loop" :p
@asue shoot! that was the last theme??? this is my first one. i'll have to time travel and check that one out ;)
Very nice, Thought I would beat you but I didn't, I died at lap 166 best time: 5s504, guess that's something xD
Decent game programmatically. TY for opting out of graphics. I see too many people opting in with premade assets. This definitely makes no sense with the theme. Seems more suited for LD47's theme, but well done on your first jam game! as others have mentioned, it reminds me of GTA 1's car controls.
The graphics, audio and music are all pretty good. The controls were intuitive and easy to use. However, the game is definitely lacking content. Also, it seems you mixed up the game jam theme (I think you were going by the previous theme of "Stuck in a Loop". This game entry would have been good for that. Either way, thanks for join and good luck with the votes :)
@anticdope @almighty-games - yeah, this is my first jam. I didn't know 47's theme when I made this. I derived my core loop by exploring "repeating and expecting different results" from "deeper into insanity". I was happy with the concept, so I was willing to stray from the theme for some folks. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for checking it out!
one-more-lap.png 200*6.5/60= ~21 minutes. Best Lap 5.683 sec. Just because you made a good game doesn't mean I can't be mad. Here, take your superlatives and move on, maybe I never find out there was more dialog past lap 200 or so help me.. Good Work.
Congratulations on your first game! I got kinda dizzy from the world rotating (I prefer it static). But great job and keep on learning!
Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to the stream, I had a lot of fun playing it! I hope the feedback was helpful. Here's the vod if ya wanna rewatch;

Fun game! The camera feels awkward at first but I actually liked it, creates a more immersive feeling. Pretty satisfied with my best lap time, but got tired after 50 of them. Great job!

@justcamh thanks for sharing this! I really appreciate your feedback on stream. I agree that more content/commentary related to gameplay (speed, camera, etc) would be good. I had to left quite a bit on the cutting room floor, too (like an autopilot pathing system so the narrator can 'take the wheel' from the player). I posted the source if you want to see what was beyond where you stopped.
@lisyarus thanks for checking it out! Yeah, the camera was a tough decision. I think it works well, but if I spend more time on this, that would be something getting the most work and playtesting. 5.8 is good! My best during testing was in the 5.9 range.
Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for playtesting! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1007523044
Congratulations on the game, I liked the idea of the dialogs, Snes' Top Gear reminded me, but after a while this camera starts to make people who feel dizzy, and for the most sensitive people even feeling sick, I hope I helped a big hug, and I await your evaluations regarding my game.
The game is so funny! Unfortunately, I felt a little bit dizzy at some point, but I can't explain why (maybe I was too good? :D) - I even play VR games and everything feels alright. I made a pause and continue playing and it was alright afterwards. I liked this one! P.S. did you make collision sound by yourself? It felt like khhh sound made by mouth :D
@etrealjunior @badabooom63 yeah, the dizziness was a concern during development. I chose the follow camera because I didn't want keyboard controls to feel inverted when the car was moving down versus up. Static camera plus car driving is just boring, too. If I continue developing this, refining the camera is the biggest priority.
And yes, that's my mouth-sound. You nailed it. khhh. ;)
OMG, I CANT ANYMORE, HOW MANY LAPS ARE??? IS THERE AND END? hahahaha good game, very funny and addicted. Loved the mechanic, music, graphics, congrats for the work! =) laps

Lol it got me to do 80 laps. Funny stuff, though the camera made me sick.
