great game! very stress inducing. my final severance was $0.43 :(

minibetrayal 2023-05-01 10:10

Great game, though perhaps a bit UK-centric with the place name thing. I'm a british ex-pat and even I had trouble with some of them

emily-ttg 2023-05-01 10:16

Awesome! Loved how it looked and quite addicting to play. Only complaint would be the difficulty with getting rid of the notices - I just ended up dragging them off the edge which I presume was the intended effect but a "close" button would have been nice. All in all a great job

inesjebesje 2023-05-01 10:17

very fun game! the only downside is that not everyone knows all uk places

yellow-attic 2023-05-01 10:20

It's a cool game that perfectly captures its theme. A suggestion would be to make the envelope pop to the front of the screen when clicked for easier reading. I like this fun and challenging game

haselkern 2023-05-01 10:22

Very fun game! I love the steady escalation, that kept the game very interesting. I got 70p 😎

thinkofname 2023-05-01 10:45

Pretty fun! Got tripped up by the place names towards the end, font size is a bit small when playing on the embedded version. The pacing felt good for the increase of difficulty

tul-games 2023-05-01 11:50

This is one of the, possibly the, most fun game I played during this game jam!

hacktic 2023-05-01 12:07

Thank you everyone for the feedback! I know the UK place name things is a bit unfair, I just found the concept of trying to decide if these insane place names are real or not really funny. And I will for sure take the other feedback on board and release a 1.0.2 patch at some point.

rickylee 2023-05-01 15:19

Awesome! ^^ every time I play I get a worse score.. haha

my best was 60 something

tasakasama 2023-05-01 17:47

0.57 I was lost with UK cities, but it's very well done

robobarbie 2023-05-02 00:14

LOL like the other commenters i died in the actual uk places part, but i had a lot of fun with this! loved the simple graphics and the building ruleset -- very papers please, in a very good way!

alyd-asmar 2023-05-02 00:38

Nice Papers Please vibes, had a fun time playing! The "messy office" feels were there xD Final score $0.97 :sunglasses:

concurrentsquared 2023-05-02 00:58

Decently fun. The game definitely feels like Papers Please(in a good way). Final score $0.44.

causalpigeon 2023-05-02 01:48

Man im not cut out for this life style. I got .35. Games really fun love the visuals of it.

alec 2023-05-03 00:46

final severance was 0.62. Like others said the pacing of introducing new rules was great. Side note, it took me way too long to realize I could drag the instructions out of view haha

rngames 2023-05-03 03:54

✔️ Simple and intuitive gameplay with non standard mechanics.

✔️ Good progression system.

➖ I got a bit confused when we were asked to find real UK place names :P

⭐ Overall: Nice little game!

perfectsquare 2023-05-03 18:03

Great game! I thought I was doing so well until the UK place names part :joy: It would have been neat if there was a map of the UK on the desk or something to give you a reference for ones you didn't know.

Nice job on the graphics too. The fake stamps were hilarious and I actually laughed out loud the first time I got one

mercilesscult 2023-05-03 20:57

Almost perfect jam game in my opinion! Love the art, sound design is just right, difficulty seems perfectly balanced, the only downside is you guessed it the UK names, but it can easily be changed! Ended with 0.70$, and I would definitely be hyped to play it again!

arya-s 2023-05-04 16:37

Great game! Perfectly scoped, well executed. I wish it had a simple audiotrack but not a biggie.

I like how the pressure scaled, I also liked that the tutorials kept sticking around cluttering up your workspace. I thought I wouldn't like that at first but it worked out well.

Well done!

Oh interesting we had the same idea!

But your game is much more polished than ours, it's funny you implemented all the features we didn't have time to do, urgent letters, wrong addresses, infinite incoming letters, etc. And even then we still have a few bugs, but we're still happy with the result considering we're just starting out in game dev (and unfortunately we're only programmers, graphics is an obscure skill for us haha)

Anyway, it's impressive that you were able to do this in only 12 hours, there is a very good sound design and pixel art. It's very polished and fun to play. I like the fact that we're literally on a desk (as we tried unsuccessfully to portray it too). It's also fun that takes place in a foreign country (at least for me), you get to see what the letters are like and learn about new cities (seriously I love England but Barton in the Beans, really?). Very good game :clap:

By the way great devlog, I came here after watching it :)

grid96 2023-05-07 14:51

Very unique idea! I like the increase in difficulty. Determining what city actually exists in the UK kinda killed me though :D

krynxx 2023-05-08 14:42

Nice little game! The sound when a new mail arrives destroyed my ears at first but still fun to play :D

dishwand 2023-05-17 04:59

great polish on display here & perfect complexity ramping. UK one got me as others have pointed out but otherwise love all the increasing challenges

roka-josh 2023-05-17 14:27

Really nice entry and fun spin on a papers please-like. Would like to see this be developed further as it could be a really fun and difficult game. Great job!

stormcat 2023-05-17 14:41

Great game! It was a lot of fun quickly checking everyone's letters. Plus I had a pretty hard test on the UK place names.

What do you think of my severance? Screenshot 2023-05-18 004005.png

kiv 2023-05-19 23:06

I hope you will push it at Steam at least
