@budark Thank you!
Great game, controls get very hard when pitching and rolling. Quite similar to my game I made but yours is much better. Please check it out if you have time.
Lovely concept/initiative. Music was very ominous, definitely made it feel like I'm underwater.
@deadmanjw thanks mate, yeah it might have been more intuitive if the directional controls were using the mouse.
@vegmuffin thanks!
Great game, nice and simple but relaxing to play. I did find the controls somewhat unnatural though.
Fun little game! Controlling the sub wasn't easy but I think that was mostly intentional. In particular I always associate CTRL with down in most games Lol. I played through a few times and never found a vent though. Also got a good chuckle out of the quip at the end.
Hi, music and audio in general was nice. I also like the world and the submarine itself. Controls are hard but that's probably just my brain having a hard time :)
Nice simple graphics and 3D models, good luck in compo!
@fatebreak I originally had the up and down the other way round but that felt unnatural to me, it might be from playing flight games?
@indigowolf @arya-s @glitchman thanks guys!
Nice concept overall ! I had a great time playing your game, eventhough I still can't quite steer the submarine like I would want to due to the huge amount of button that you have to use in order to control the ship properly (which isn't quite different from how you are supposed to control a real submarine with the many buttons and switches on the control panel, so good job for making it realistic).
@weirdybeardyman Interesting. I think for me it comes from games like Skyrim where CTRL is crouch. Or even bigger is Subnautica where CTRL is descend.
@fatebreak ah I can see how that would make it confusing if you already have that Submarine control association XD
@vaanrile thank you very much, yeah it seems to be a problem for most people :)
I figure the submarine controller probably isn't the most straightforward thing to make, but man is it satisfying to play with. If the ocean was expanded and made more interactive I could see just wanting to sub around the ocean and keep exploring its depths. The atmosphere was really chill, and cleaning up the ocean is always a good thing. Really great job, I really liked it a lot :ocean:
I liked this a lot! You managed to add a ton of little details to the undewater world that made it feel really alive. The music goes perfect too. I actually didn't mind the controls like some others. I was very deliberate and treated it like I was controlling some kind of robot or something; I would only pitch up and down, or roll, when absolutely needed. Stuck to WSAD most of the time which worked great. Nice game!
I loved the game! the submarine's 3D model looks very good. I also love the fact that the world is randomly generated. Good job!
@parsafari @nick-rafalski @pohko thank you very much, I'm glad to enjoyed it!
Great game!! Controlls feel so smooth!! A great and fun entry, art is also really cool, it all fits in really well, and it's a COMPO ENTRY!! That's amazing, a lot of work on such a short window of time.. Great job!
@webox thank you, glad you liked it, that's really appreciated!
Nicely done! This game gives me strong Sub Culture vibes with the submarine's design and color. Movement of the sub feels a little stiff but it doesn't keeps from exploring.
Thank you @lesinvisible I hadn't heard of Sub Culture before, looks cool!
I liked the game. The controls where a bit hard to control at time, I face planted the sub more than I collected trash in my first run. Great game and good entry.
"Greta won't be happy" LOVE IT! Greta will never be happy actually. Nice idea but I struggled a lot with the controls to be honest. This up and down rotation stuff drove me slightly nuts. Graphics looks great though
@thijs-tak @cg-fred thanks both of you, sorry you didn't get on with the controls!
Such a relaxing experience... the deep blue of the ocean and slow-paced music created a nice chill vibe.
Is it even possible to collect all the trash in the ocean? Or is this a message to tell us that it's already too late?
Good job on implementing such complex controls for a compo entry!
Nice idea! Unfortunately the submarine seemed to jitter a whole lot when my friend played it, which made controlling it feel uncomfortable. Not sure if we were too close to the ground or if maybe it was a bug.
Some advice for making controls feel a little more natural: There's some great "flight sim" style games where the controls are mainly just moving toward the player's cursor. Implementing something similar would have likely made the movement controls a lot smoother (albeit more limited, but that just becomes part of the game's charm ).
Additionally, making objects you could interact with (trash) have some kind of visual indicator such as a faint glow effect would have gone a long way toward giving the player direction in the game.
Overall this must have been a very interesting experience making a procedurally generated 3D world in the compo!
Sweet idea. I get what you mean by *not smooth*^^ The movement controls were a bit hard to get used to.
@secret-magic-404 great I'm glad you enjoyed it and found it relaxing, that's exactly what I was going for. No you definitely can't collect all the rubbish, it's procedurally generated so there is always more to collect haha
@jesterseraph yeah using the cursor would be a good idea to try. The jittering probably came from a new chunk being loaded, unfortunately I've not used multi-threading before in Godot to fix that. Yeah I definitely had good fun making it. Thanks for the feedback!
@pythooonuser thank you for playing, sorry the controls didn't feel natural for you
I would agree with previous comments about the controls, but the atmosphere is very strong and you nailed the relaxing tone with the music and the color scheme.
Nice and simple graphics
I get some gta vice city chopper mission vibes from this. the controls take a bit getting used to, but are good. The weird bit was that the tab would close randomly. Maybe its a key combination with the Ctrl key our Shift
Nice relaxing game, I feel like it was a bit hard to tell where I was going sometimes. Not sure how I would fix it though, might be a lighting / camera angle thing
@marcovalekaz yes sorry I did put a little comment on the itch page, basically W+Ctl closes the tab in chrome! Thanks for playing :)
@nigeynige thanks I'm really glad you like the tone!
@jotlane yay I'm glad you found it relaxing, that was definitely what I was going for! Yeah I definitely just slapped the camera follow together so it wasn't the best.
- I found the controls very frustrating to work with initially. My sub kept getting stuck on the ground every time I collected trash, and rolling didn't help very well. - Shift and ctrl didn't feel like intuitive choices for facing up/down, shift/space would have been preferable - but maybe that's just because I'm used to Minecraft controls... - Didn't really see the theme in this one - it's underwater, yes, but you're not going deeper anywhere. - Graphics are simple and clean. - Audio is nice, but the music gets a little repetitive.
@anuke Thanks for playing and the good feedback, yeah about the theme, initially I was going to make the sea get deeper and deeper the further you went but I figured it wouldn't work with the procedurally generated world because you could just go back towards the start, and I ran out of time to implement something like that.
@weirdybeardyman cool game! I liked the graphics and music! so much for a COMPO entry imho. I liked the controls, but when I hit the ground, the submarine sometimes go crazy. apart from that, great entry!
Thanks @azagaya glad you liked it. Yep watch out for the ground haha
It was a little hard to find volcanic vents - I died a lot of times before finding one - and controls needs a little practice, but in a whole, this game was nice to be played, and artwork and animation are polished. Well done!
Thank you @lereveur sorry for making it too difficult to find the vents, I was worried about them being spawned too much and making the game boring but I think I might have ended up going too far the other way. Balance is definitely not my strong point!
Balance is definitely not the strong point of any game maker, especially in jams, because balancing a game is the most tricky thing on game making  And this was not a blame, as you can see on my entry this would be a shame to me to blame others on balancing their games
Nice ecologic adoption of the theme. I liked how I rolled the bottom on side of the sub, Like I'm some kind of gangsta :sunglasses: Nice entry, good and simple graphics, simple idea and working game mechanics, that's really a big deal at the LD.
One suggestion - is to add glowing or blinking effect to garbage when it's got collected. Another better idea is to add some collect radius where garbage is gravitated and collects automatically (see Psychonauts as en example).

P.S.
I should admit that yeah, Greta won't be happy with my progress but she will be proud of you, sir, for sure!
@room606 oh yeah a sucker or something for the rubbish is a really good idea. I was originally going to have a little robot arm on the front of the Sub holding a rubbish bag but unfortunately time escaped me. Thanks for playing and the positive feedback!
@room606 by the way ( *spoiler* ) if you get more than 20 pieces of rubbish Greta is pleased with you :D
@weirdybeardyman - Wow.. , now I just MUST return to that game and make it happen!
Relaxing game about an important and perhaps not so relaxing subject, well done! 🐠 Really nice music and atmosphere, love the little puttering of the sub, and the model is nice too. Pickup sounds were a bit loud. Played web version since I'm on macOS but don't think I experienced any of the issues you mentioned! Controls are a bit tricky as has been said but it was fun getting the hang of them. A two-handed layout with WASD for regular movement and arrows instead of Q/E/shift/ctrl would have been pretty cool I think 😄 I did notice the terrain loading in, maybe some thicker fog could've worked there, suits the underwater pretty well. Thanks for this experience! 🤩
@ava-skoog thank you very much, glad you liked it, yeah the chunking could be a bit obvious at times, thanks for the feedback!
As you already described the controls can go crazy indeed  I also noticed that rolling using Q/E also changes you vertical movement slightly, which is a bit confusing at first but actually pretty handy. I especially liked the music, it made the whole game super relaxing. Would have only wished there are some more volcanic vents. Great work!
@oadt thank you, glad you found it relaxing.
