LD28 — You Only Get One

Only One Robot... or may be Boss? by Smirnov48 2013-12-22T18:59:00

Good attempt at a platformer, though the controls felt a bit floaty.

Aperalim by samooJAM 2013-12-22T19:55:00

Nice top down shooter, getting and using the scrolls felt a bit clumsy though.

Fujo by TheSheep 2013-12-21T21:46:00

Good attempt at turn based RPG, art and animation give it that traditional RPG feel. well done.

Guiding Lights by atomic_swerve 2013-12-17T19:45:00

Fun game, the music matches the environment and the mood that it tries to create. only caveat would be the level design, sometimes involves a lot of walking which detracts from the puzzle solving element.

Natural Sheep Care by nka 2013-12-17T20:05:00

My sheep is dead!

I love this game, graphics, animation and sound all very well done.
Good presentation of the mechanics through a slow build up and clear and concise text for the bits that need it.

Very nicely done.

Carry the one by goerp 2013-12-17T19:18:00

nice idea, adding your number to the board made for some interesting puzzles.
Feedback: movement feels a bit sluggish.

Choices by madameberry 2013-12-17T19:29:00

Good point and click, the color choice helped set the mood and making the art minimal reminded me of experiencing vague memories.

I like the idea of multiple endings, gave a glimpse in the 'what if' scenario's most of us ponder.

Only bit of feedback is that I expected to collect all the items, instead of choosing one. perhaps you can communicate that more clearly next try

You Only Get To Save One by PEBKAC 2013-12-21T21:35:00

Good try, didn't have any game breaking issues with it.

Only One Man by Thingus 2013-12-21T19:59:00

Nice idea, liked the camera control. Kept it nice and focused.
It was a bit jarring that I had to rebuy my pickaxe/gun/boots if I wanted to use them.

1 Baller Resource Brick Braker by ItsSacraficed 2013-12-22T18:42:00

Good attempt, though I'd prefer it if the paddle moved faster.

A Snowball's Chance In Space by barkergames 2013-12-21T19:38:00

Good attempt at the theme. though it wasn't quite clear how you would need to use your only missile.

Wheelie by Clavus 2013-12-22T18:52:00

Good attempt, graphics were clear and bright. The only suggestion I could give would be to up the difficulty by making one hit lethal and the balancing act harder.

OP is OP by TeamQuadratic 2013-12-21T20:14:00

I liked the presentation in comic form, gave the game more flavour. good presentation of the multiple devices you can use. though I wouldn't have used message boxes, but that's for the next jam ;) Platforming was a bit floaty, but felt decent enough.

One Button Wonder by Arcantic 2013-12-21T20:20:00

Had the feeling it took some inspiration from 'Papers please' but that's only a good thing. Slow presentation gave the game more depth and didn't feel rushed, kudo's on that. The one character for words and names reflected the worker's inability to look outside his work, felt like that drove the point home.

Oh and, yyyy you. ;)

Bugged Bot by Space_man 2013-12-21T20:24:00

Very good attempt, giving the player only one attempt at an ability felt very sokoban to me, this is a very good twist on that concept. Nicely done!

EVA : You only get one... by Lyonsbanner 2013-12-21T22:10:00

The story fell a bit flat, the characters felt out of place with their seemingly unknown reason to help each other out, but perhaps I couldn't progress further to find out. Good attempt though and easily remedied through rework and polish.

The Creep (You only get one Night) by Mekuri 2013-12-22T19:09:00

Felt very inspired my Slenderman, though the sound effects almost had me feeling of a horror game if it weren't for the orchestra hits which felt a bit out of place and comical.

The game would've been easier on the eyes if the webpage background was also black. Red text on a black background is not easy to read unless you really up the font.

Good attempt at a horror game.

Autonomia by smilingrob 2013-12-21T21:49:00

Interesting concept, though the sliders overwhelmed me.

YOGO - The Detective Story by psc1997 2013-12-22T19:23:00

Technically a proficient text based adventure game. Though the broken english, odd dialogue and a plot that needs polishing didn't allow me to enjoy this game very much.

Oneitis by mmickyman 2013-12-22T19:27:00

Interesting idea but it's hard to learn which actions were successful and which weren't making it feel like a slot machine.

Tether by orbitantlers 2013-12-21T20:58:00

The gameplay feels a bit broken, perhaps the bugs restricted the game from communicating it's design. lesson learned!

Stabby game by Woftles 2013-12-22T19:52:00

Nice top down shooter, sound effects matched well to the visual design. functionally correct as well, didn't find any bugs.

Cat Gentlemans Play: Insult Spinner 10 Cents by RobotLovesKitty 2013-12-17T19:22:00

I say, jolly good fun.
Only feedback would be that the glove physics were a bit finicky, otherwise fun two player game

Lost in Space by loxo 2013-12-22T19:04:00

I feel like there are some elements missing which would've completed the game, probably time constraints. I liked the uncle interaction.

The Last Bullet by Toureiro 2013-12-21T20:49:00

Liked the art, though it did feel like I was loading more bullets into my gun when it was only one. Nontheless I loved the presentation and the gameplay was well rounded.

Space Jumper by DJLad97 2013-12-22T19:30:00

I liked the gameplay concept, though it didn't feel quite balanced enough because sometimes it's impossible to jump higher because of missing platforms.

Discount Santa Saves Christamas by tinykidtoo 2013-12-22T19:37:00

Nice platformer, the controls are bit floaty but feel better then other submissions I've played.

Follow your skill by Jordo76 2013-12-21T21:37:00

The game lagged alot for me so I couldn't get to really play it. minimalist style seems nice.

Luduvikus by JALgames 2013-12-17T19:55:00

I couldn't quite make sense of what I needed to do or why I should need to do that, the camera was really zoomed in on the character, I couldn't spatially recognize in what part of the map I was or wether I visited it before.

I did like the art style.

BlockDodger by Jishenaz 2013-12-21T19:42:00

Good attempt at the theme, though the difficulty didn't scale leaving the experience a bit lackluster.

Cable by eemmbbeerr 2013-12-23T19:36:00

Interesting idea of using the wires to create traps.

Element Fighter by smash ball 2013-12-22T18:48:00

Functionally a good top down shmup, however the sheer amount of bullets and modes that you could switch between makes the game to unwieldy to really have fun with.

Pete, The Petard by Saf 2013-12-23T20:01:00

Nicely done, enjoyed playing this game.

You Are The One by mystakin 2013-12-23T19:41:00

Very nicely done, the input felt satisfying and the jumping felt very good, which is rare in all the submissions i've played. very good.

Endless Night by Guennor 2013-12-23T19:43:00

Too bad it it's not done, but that can always be fixed in the next ludum dare. I liked the depth perception, I think your next submission is going to be great.

Wilhelm's Escape by glovecat 2013-12-21T21:31:00

Very nicely drawn and animated, though the gameplay felt like hitting my head against a brick wall.

1837 by fizzhog 2013-12-23T19:47:00

This game confused me, the input didn't correspond to any actions on the screen, the slow pace didn't captivate my interest.

Breathe by ryanmurakami 2013-12-23T19:54:00

Nice attempt at a graphic novel game, funtionally working which is something I can't say about a lot of submissions, well done.

The Present by gingerBill 2013-12-23T20:04:00

Nicely done, simply but well implemented.

One Turn by dearenot 2013-12-21T19:32:00

Interesting idea, bit lacking on the execution as you mentioned

Flint by LewisChaplin 2013-12-23T19:57:00

I wasn't quite sure what was expected of me, could've used more guidance.

One Night at the Space Opera by davekalina 2013-12-21T20:45:00

Incredible art (did you use hexels for this?) and the sound for the opera singers was unique and interesting. In light of the other incredible features the actually game falls a bit more on it's face then it should. It wasn't clear to me until the 2nd try what I was supposed to do. communicating my possible actions would've fixed a lot in presenting this intersting gameplay idea.

Cyber Defence by Random Abductions 2013-12-21T21:08:00

The game feels a bit complex from the start and didn't quite communicate the impending doom that those yellow orbs represent, personally I dislike games which have a full page of text for a tutorial, perhaps slowly guiding the player into the process could've pulled more people in.

Te y De by Rodaja 2013-12-21T21:17:00

Nice attempt at a platformer, though some bugs restricted me from playing the game.

Only One Remains by huhwhozat 2013-12-21T21:40:00

Good attempt, the concept is interesting but I couldn't see it implemented really well.

you only get one fridge by gilborn 2013-12-21T19:50:00

Good attempt, didn't find any bugs or functional problems. Though the game was very surreal, I couldn't find a pattern or an expectation of what the game wanted from me because of it.

RoboKnight Must Choose by Mutt 2013-12-22T19:49:00

Nice platformer, only remark I have was that the difficulty curve ramped up to fast.

Homunculus Homestead by Team Homunculi 2013-12-17T19:50:00

Fun little top down shooter, though the initial screen confused me as what I needed to do and/or click

The Samurai's Lonesome Heart by botwoj 2013-12-17T20:10:00

Very nicely presented, nice non text tutorial helps me get in to the game, though I could not pass the first enemy.

POLITICS SIMULATOR by gnargle 2013-12-21T19:35:00

Good portrayal of the lose-lose situation that politics usually represents.

One Coffin by Dikkop 2013-12-21T20:31:00

Excellent work on this one. Graphics, art and gameplay knock it out of the park. you can be proud of this one.

One Color by jonask 2013-12-22T19:44:00

Very nicely done. Minimalist approach done very well, loved the sound design, no over the top sound cue's.

One Arrow by 7elephants 2013-12-22T19:00:00

Excellent visuals and very nice concept using the theme. I did however find a bug: I died while firing and on respawn was unable to move or fire. The counter also counted down from 10 to 0 over and over again.
I just thought I would mentioned in case you'd like to fix it for a future update :)

One Every Five by joewan 2013-12-21T21:43:00

Making a local multiplayer game is a risky maneuver since most reviewer play by themselves, but I can see this gameplay concept be very fun, nice job.

Eternal Champion by gavrilovmiroslav 2013-12-17T19:34:00

It felt a bit disjointed, the black transitions didn't occur to me as new game but as a cutscene or a piece of exposition.

the mechanic of have one option to survive each new scenario is an interesting one and well implemented, it only needed to be communicated a bit better.

Fighter-01 by Thalikoth 2013-12-21T19:54:00

Interesting concept, but infuriating to play. Feels like a slot machine. If you tweaked the concept further it would've played better in my opinion.

One by bodsey 2013-12-21T21:25:00

Good presentation though I needed a bit more communication on how the gameplay works.

One Take by Sheepolution 2013-12-21T20:38:00

Brilliant idea. only remark I have is that sometimes it didn;t recognize a correct shot, but awesome nontheless!

Midnight Minigun by jimmypaulin 2013-12-22T19:12:00

Very well done, the """""game feel""""" was great. Shooting the minigun and killing the zombies was visually and aurally enjoyable. well done.

Out of Mind by kibertoad 2013-12-21T21:59:00

The cyberpunk atmosphere is very present, the art is unique and had a contributed to the atmosphere. If you like turn based games, this would be pretty good with some more polish and sounds effects.

Fantastic Franklin by Stealth 2013-12-17T19:39:00

Fun little side scrolling action, nice sprite working and good game feel (good animation and sound mixture).

I did find the initial puzzles to be a bit tricky, but that could be my ludum dare exhaustion. ;)

Match Girl by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2013-12-23T19:21:00

Very nicely done, excellent polish on the whole game experience (menu's felt logical and difficulty curve was pleasant) the only feedback I have is that chiptune music doesn't quiet fit with the non pixel art.

UNDERDEEP by GeorgeBroussard 2013-12-21T20:54:00

I liked the retro feel of the presentation. Game was functional, which is a rare thing in some jam. like the presentation. Text and information was also well represented.

LD29 — Beneath the Surface

Orlok's Ordeal by Daveloper 2014-04-29T12:43:00

The narrator was Joonas Turner(@kissakolme):)

Thanks for the kind words, everyone!

Orlok's Ordeal by Daveloper 2014-05-06T08:10:00

@victorygarden: thanks for the kind words!", but there is in fact ambient sound throughout the game, with ambiences changing between rooms; the first room of the game is the only exception to this and is intentionally silent.

Orlok's Ordeal by Daveloper 2014-05-07T19:00:00

@Kristof Thanks for the kind words! Making interactive items clearer is the highest priority in fixes for an updated version of the game. Thanks for the constructive feedback :)

Orlok's Ordeal by Daveloper 2014-05-08T12:09:00

@actionremix if you look closely on the final image of the outro, you'll see it.

Ripple Runner by DDRKirby(ISQ) 2014-05-05T10:11:00

A creative and well presented idea. The use of sound as feedback for executing platforming correctly works well and makes the experience more engaging. Excellent work :)

Color Graphics Adventure by Eniko 2014-05-12T19:01:00

Nice submissions Eniko, I like the use of color as a gameplay mechanic

The Evil Tentacles! by Wuhao 2014-05-06T09:41:00

I like the concept and it's visual presentation, however the controls make the game difficult to fully enjoy.
A good effort overall though :)

Deeper Beneath the Surface by Havacore 2014-05-06T09:23:00

A good effort for your first ludum dare, and especially considering you are new to unity. Keep on studying and making games :)

Dead men tell no tales by aaronjbaptiste 2014-04-29T19:34:00

Nice idea, well presented.I can't help but feel that the number of enemies increases too quickly. Good effort though :)

Rosa Neurosa by Wertle 2014-05-02T16:45:00

Fun game! Drilling across the levels was enjoyable, enjoyed the cutscenes too!

Project Isla by Dualhammers 2014-05-05T20:06:00

I got a Jazzpunk feel from this, which is a good thing! Interesting concepts but they're well implemented.

MOOD by d__adee 2014-04-29T19:29:00

interesting concept, nice effort :)

The Worlds Beneath by jugglerrob 2014-05-06T09:32:00

The game has a nice sombre atmosphere; thanks to some rather eerie ambience, however the gameplay isn't very engaging.
I feel that the platforming could benefit from having a dynamic jump height, determined but how long the space key is pressed i.e the shorter the amount of time the key is pressed, the shorter the jump height.

Other than that, a well presented effort :)

Beneath The Game by renegadeninjanl 2014-05-02T16:37:00

Fun game, just needed a bit of in game explanation.

SnakeFormer - Half Snake, Half Platformer by TobiasW 2014-05-05T19:57:00

Great idea, I loved the idea of a platformer snake. Nicely implemented as well!

Defend the Surface by zeal 2014-05-02T16:48:00

Nice submission, controlling the player felt a bit odd, moving and picking up then holding the button threw me off for a bit.

Deep Calls To Deep by Romko Pidstryhach 2014-05-06T09:19:00

A somewhat straightforward concept, but very well presented; both visually and aurally. The sound does a great job at creating a rather melancholy atmosphere and makes the game richer for it. Very nice work :)

Under the scratchy surface by oenvoyage 2014-05-06T22:26:00

Apparently the dropbox is missing the file :(

Ice Treasure by EpiphanyG 2014-05-02T16:34:00

Nice game! Only remark I would have is that the melting animation takes a bit to long

Under by Wings333 2014-04-30T10:14:00

I couldn't seem to find a way out of the cave, and no creature appeared. I'm unsure whether this is an issue which arose because of the randomization or because I overlooked something.

Home by Brenden Gibbons 2014-05-12T20:19:00

Well written, painted an interesting environment.

Middle Management Hell by Hammervuis 2014-05-02T16:50:00

Nice submission, all the different bars confused me for a bit, but that'll pass with time.

In Hiding by Sheepolution 2014-05-02T16:58:00

Very well done, kept me hooked to find out what happens. Exceptional mood

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

One Does Not Simply Walk Into More Doors by Wertle 2014-12-09T11:41:00

Great submission, really enjoyed the anxious ghost state when the monster is close!

The doors introduce a nice hectic feeling but never feels to hard to beat.

The Aardvark and the Manatee by Sanguine 2014-12-09T12:17:00

Very relaxing and fun. The protect and feed phases of the game complement each other well.

GhostRing by Robotic 2014-12-09T11:48:00

Just grabbed a few coworkers to play this, great hectic fun when you've got a few friends to play with this.

Sounds effects and visuals help with the experience of crashing into each other and exploding.

Great fun!
