Wow, that water looks amazing. This game made me laugh a lot. 5/5
Funny voice overs and interesting gameplay. Props for doing it all in 3D!
Nice graphics and gameplay. Controls seem a bit rigid for controlling a ship. Sometimes ships would be sailing around on their sides.
Decent.
Very cool! This game would seriously benefit from a minimap though, since I've wandered at least two times around and lost without meeting any ship. Still, I felt compelled to try again, so props to you!
I was very impressed with the graphics (especially the water - nice job on that), but I don't really see how this fits the theme of minimalism. Also, the physics can be a bit wonky - almost 1/2 of the ports I visited, my ship went flying across the screen for a couple seconds before settling down. It would also be nice to have an explanation of some of the random pickups around the map.
@Michael Hall Thanks! The water is the Unity Pro version it was a free trial over the weekend so a great excuse to experiment with it. Check out their site their other examples are way better just need more documentation.
Looks awesome for a game made in 2 days!
It gets boring when you run out of the crew and just randomly sail around hoping to find a port (i found only one)... finished in the end after few minutes, but can't say I was enjoying myself.
The ship controls were too clunky, free rotation would at least give me some more feel for movement.
Cool idea but too many bugs! I saw a ship doing a barrel roll and other sailing upside down!
Yargh.
Thanks for playing everyone and leaving feedback!
After you commented on my game, I realize you're right; we both have very similiar games!
Fantastic job on 3D pirates!
One descrepancy; in your description it says you need 7 ships, whereas in game you only need 5.
My favorite part of this game which made be laugh was this awesome bug where if you killed one of the enemies, and another enemy was near by, it would "bump" into the other enemies "corpse". At that point, the physics would go haywire and your ship can start doing stunts. Best bug ever, please leave it in!
@Josefnpat Thanks for checking it out. Haha yeah I have a ton of bugs because of fast physic implementation but maybe thats the silly charm for now haha. Great point on the goal. Still changing that and messing around with values to get the most mileage out. Will Edit!
Hey Richard nice work! I agree with some of the comments about how rigid the steering is but I think you achieved a lot for 48 hrs
Hilarious voiceovers, glitches, and everything! I loved how the ships would bounce around randomly (please don't change this if its a glitch).
Awesome game game for a compo. more of this please. loved the humor
Really enjoyed this - would like to see it turned into something more :) The movement was a little weird at first until I realized it was supposed to be a rogue-like (right?) and the movement was tilebased. Then it all started to make sense :) Great job!
I like the day-night cycle. Sometimes some ships have rotation problems. There is a good potential, i hope you will upgrade your game after this LD, for more gameplay and graphics.
@rogueNoodle Yep that is correct :) Thanks for checking it out and the comments!
It was a duper fun game mateys, but didnt fit the theme very well
it looks really nice and is very well made, I particularly like the odd physics but I think that a free-rotation would make it much better, and feel more like a ship rather than a slow moving square
Impressive scope for a 48h game, that ship is some serious speed modeling! The game was fun, needs a bit of gameplay tuning though.
