LD44 — Your life is currency

Your life is my money by squaredev 2019-05-05T08:53:04Z

One of the better entries I've seen!

The art is excellent and the concept fits the theme. I liked the music too, however some of the sfx wasn't great. I was happy with the amount of content as well, it felt like an entire experience and didn't end too suddenly. Good job!

Couple of bugs I experienced (nothing absolutely game breaking): - Falling through the world and dying - Items from a chest getting stuck inside it, preventing me from interacting with them - Mouse showing in the middle of the screen throughout the game

Dr. Ectomy by BoxedMeatRevolution 2019-05-05T09:24:35Z

Maybe I'm not that great with puzzles, but it took me a while to understand the mechanics. Adding a bit of tutorialization would go a long way! I did have fun though, after I figured it out. The art is quite pleasant too, and some sound would go a long way to add to the mood. Also, I'm not entirely sure how well the game fits the theme, but other than that, it's a solid entry!

Sweet Sweet Witch Hunt by Sir Daniev 2019-05-06T12:53:41Z

I like the art! Unfortunately it's incredibly easy and repetitive even with the max number of hunters. The sounds are really loud and annoying as well, especially the laugh. I don't really see the connection with the theme either, but it isn't that bad of an entry.

Knit Worth by ColeSlaughter 2019-05-05T09:38:32Z

One of the better entries I've seen!

It's intuitive, the art, audio, and the cutscene at the beginning are excellent. Above all, it's the first entry I've played that's genuinely funny! If there's one gripe I have, it's that there could be more content. Introducing some additional mechanics and elements would go a long way in adding complexity and replayability. But other than that, I love it! Good job!

Triple Laser Death March by BinarySpark 2019-05-06T13:37:58Z

Solid entry!

Interesting level design and an impressive selection of guns. Some music would be great, but other than that the art and audio are good. The main gripe I have is that while the game fits the theme, it's at a very predictable surface level. I did have fun though! Good job!

I Burn by mamoniem 2019-05-06T13:26:32Z

There doesn't seem to be any interaction, so by definition I guess it's not really a game. As an experimental short film I find it to be really interesting though. The candle model, the music, and the mood are all great. It also fits the theme in an interesting way. I really have no idea how to rate it though...

What do YOU want? by Ever 2019-05-05T14:19:56Z

Love the concept!

The art is great and could be even better if the background and/or the characters very animated. The audio fits quite well too - love the jazz! As the game goes on, it would really benefit from some additional elements and mechanics, as it seems somewhat easy to figure the system out and keep going forever. What really got me, was the subtle humor in the requests, especially the "I want my waifu to be real" -one!

Overall it's one of the better entries I've seen! Good job!

With It Or On It by SaRNEh 2019-05-06T13:55:24Z

Excellent art and audio!

Unfortunately the gameplay gets a little bit repetitive - more enemy types or depth in the combat would go a long way in increasing the replayability. However I understand that resources are tight in a jam like this. The connection with the theme is kinda there, but I feel like a lot more could've been done in that regard.

Overall it's a fine entry! Good job!

D E A T H S G R A S P by Auzrial 2019-05-05T10:26:00Z

Love the art! The story is quite good as well, almost like a morbid fairy tale.

At times I wish there were additional options, for example when I went to the well and saw that the only person there was a child, I wish I could have turned back. Option like this wouldn't even necessarily complicate the story, as it would just lead to Emma dying, much like refusing Death's proposal.

Regardless of this little gripe, I was fully immersed and had a pleasant experience. Good job!

Chesty the Treasure by Lord9000 2019-05-06T14:36:50Z

Interesting entry!

The art is great and I like the fact that there are several music tracks. The game also fits the theme quite well. The main gripes I have are that the movement is pretty janky and the art in the final level seemed to be unfinished. However it's still a solid entry! Good job!

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-05-05T09:09:25Z

One of the better entries I've seen - so serene!

Both the audio and the visuals are absolutely top notch. Initially I imagined collecting the sheep would be tedious, but it becomes strangely relaxing. The only gripe I have, is that the connection with the theme isn't quite there. There's also a bug where if you jump against a wall you consistently get stuck in the jumping animation, being unable to jump again or pick up anything until you somehow maneuver yourself back into the running animation. Other than that, the game is an absolute joy! Good job!

Cats Without Cars by B33Thr33 2019-05-05T10:12:41Z

The controls took some time to get used to, but the movement turned out to be quite satisfying. It's quite easy to build up a lot of momentum and fly off the stage, but I found that to be part of the fun! It almost reminds me of the Tribes games. While the game isn't super innovative, it does fit the theme. Understandably, many of the games I've tried seem to revolve around cats and the concept of 9 lives. Both the art and audio are great, overall it's a fun little game and a solid entry! Good job!

Rotten Planet by Sky909 2019-05-06T13:06:11Z

Managing a small planet like this is a concept that I really like, and one that could be taken much further. Unfortunately this game is way too simple and becomes repetitive almost immediately. Some audio would also go a long way in making the game more immersive. It does sort of fit the theme in an interesting way, which I do like!

Forgotten Keep by burst 2019-05-06T14:10:38Z

The art is cool and the connection with the theme is definitely there!

I did have some major gripes with the game though. The screen size is absolutely tiny on my monitor and can't be scaled in any way, the horizontal movement during jumping is very strange, and some audio would go a long way in making the game more immersive. I'd really like the game to be longer as well, but the scale isn't bad for a game jam.

Regardless of all this, it's a fine entry! Good job!

Nice art and music! Interesting fit with the theme. More sound effects and a faster pace would go a long way. Definitely a solid entry though!

Cheers guys! It's my first time participating in a game jam of any kind - so happy to see all the positive feedback!

Mr. Moneybag's Great Adventure by Grangerer 2019-05-06T13:15:29Z

Pretty cool stealth game!

Fits the theme well and the art is great. More sound effects would go a long way in making the game even more immersive. My main gripe might be that it's really easy to just outrun the enemies even after you alert them.

Overall it's surprisingly polished and fun! Solid entry!
