Very cool art style
Fantastic game! Nothing is more fun than operating on a variety of patients who most certainly should not be alive.
Really love the look of this. I also wasn't aware that organs can just go anywhere inside the human body.
Mr Livermore is quite a guy..
Great art, and great concept! Would love to have this on my phone!
THIS WAS SO FUN. I love puzzle games, I don't see enough of them in LD I feel like. Thanks so much for making it, would love to play more of it.
This is great! I love everything about it. Very very polished! :)
really like the art style, seriously cool
Nice entry XD i know now why i'm not a doctor ! hahaha ! Graphic were cool :) ! Why no sound ? :(
Brilliant, got hooked playing it! Nice progressions, well done.
Gem of a jam game i love it :)
Simply amazing. Loving it. Kind of missed the theme for me though.
Very cool game. I like the humor. There's some reminder of the theme like the patient who lost his intestines in a bet. The concept is cool and the art incredible. Great work !
Best game I played so far!
WOOW I just did it and there are so many levels! I did not manage to do everything but I could see that there were still many! We who have made a themed game "surgeon", I have to admit that you are overtaking us 😅
this is a really cool idea for a puzzle game! the tutorials are done really nicely, and I love the art style and the little animations, they really suit the tone :)
A really fun entry, you made an incredible number of level and implemented difficulties and content so naturally it nearly felt like a finished game! Very nicely executed!
"YIIIEEEAAAAAOOUUUUGHHHH!!!!!" *I roar, as everyone stares at me,* "I BEAT LOLA LUNG LADY!!!"
Super fun, though at first I was very tentative, and almost didn't play it. Turned out to be a blast, though, guess I'm just weak to puzzle games. Thanks for stealing half an hour of my day, Doctor Ectomy! :D)
This game was polished and the art style is delightful. Great job!
Very good art! Very good idea! Very good all! This is a great game! It was very cool to play it!
Good game! Loads of other people have said things I'd want to say so I'll leave it as that. :)
It's a little unintuitive that the organs drop to the bottom layer if there is nothing beneath them, or that you can't pick up bottom layer organs (I thought that was a bug at first), but the art style is beautiful! Very old timey!
Great game! I spent more time on this than any other game I've played before. The puzzles were very clever, and some took me quite a while to figure out.
@finn-truman I don't think it would have been much of a puzzle game without those elements, but you are right that they could have been explained more clearly (or, at all... :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:). Thanks for playing!
It's actually surgeon simulator, but with better artstyle and game design. It's a nice puzzle game. I wasn't certain if in the end you would have to perform some strange surgery operation. Glad i stick to the game to find out
PS: The artstyle is really good.
Good job! :)
Whoah! This game was quite a brain challenge. We played it together with a friend switching places as one got stuck, and we completed it in half an hour or so. It's amazing how many unique levels and new gameplay mechanics you managed to create in such short amount of time.
10/10 game, and the amount of puzzles you were able to crank out in such a short amount of time is really impressive.
Very cool and fun/funny use of the theme. I was really impressed with how difficult those puzzles could be with the particular shapes and arrangements. Lots of fun!
Very fun and challenging game !
I really loved the puzzle game! It had humor and great art-work! Great job!
Wow! I learned the exact position of organs now! This game is great. The problem with puzzles these days is that they often don't make real sense and lack of context. Not this one! Only little thing that took me a while to get was that you had to click to put down the organ. Amazing job!
This is a fantastic game. I didn't expect to end up playing it as long as I did, but wow, the addictive nature of it snuck up on me quick. Good job!!
Really interesting puzzle game. Very unique and innovative. Nice graphics and it was quite funny putting the organs in the wrong way round haha!
I hat trouble moving stuff between layers. The game concept is really cool. Why don't real doctors rotate organs to better organize space?
Great puzzle game with impressive amount of challenging levels. Only thing i missed was some sort of connection to currency to fit the theme better.
Never knew playing tetris on the operation table would be so fun. I like the puzzle design. You've got a variety of puzzles with different mechanics. The art style conveys everything clearly too. Great job!
There's a funny glitch, when organs overlap, they just expand and glitch all over the screen. Nice art.
Cool twist on a grid-based puzzle. It took me a while to figure out how organs fall through the top layer into the bottom, but enjoyed the puzzles once I wrapped my brain around it.
@nandon I think you might be talking about the effect which indicates an illegal move. For example if you try to stack organs more than 2 high in the body, then the organs will wiggle and bounce back to their original positions.
If you're talking about something else you may have found a glitch!
Edit -> our programmer theorizes that if the game lags enough the "jiggle system" might become unstable... causing jiggles to increase indefinitely rather than dampen over time. We'll look into it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
@boxedmeatrevolution Yeah you're right, they jiggle back into place like they should now. I do believe it was the lag that made them go crazy and glitch all over the screen.
First of all, I love your username! Secondly, what a wonderfully novel idea :) These are the types of games I used to play as a kid, which probably explains my messed up sense of humor.
Stuff I loved: * The X-Ray game mechanic * The visual effects you have on the organs * The slow ramp of difficulty which makes the game more accessible.
Some feedback if you want to take this to the next level: * I'm not sure if my headphones weren't working but I didn't hear any audio feedback. * I personally like the option to click on an organ and then click somewhere on the grid for the organ to snap to along with the option to drag it around. * You can also add a timer til the patient is dead, and removing certain organs puts them into a 'critical' state where you only have a short amount of time to put the organ back. A con of this idea is that it may cause the game to lose its laid back fun style, so take it with a grain of salt.
Well done and I can't wait to play the next one!
Very good job on this game! It's like Surgeon Simulator meets Tetris in a Don't Starve artstyle xD Crazy nice.
THIS GAME IS AMAZING. One of the games that i have most played durign this feedback phase. I can't think about anything wrong i saw in this game, it's actually one of my favorites. I love the learning curve, loved the puzzle, the game is challenging and original, i've actually liked it a lot.
but the game has no audio and i think it would make the game MUCH MUCH BETTER.
Very good puzzle game, too bad there is no audio
One of the best level designs that I have ever seen on a jam game, OMG!!! The art is well done, nice choice of font too. The layers mechanics could be introduced more clearly, I spent some time until I understood how the organs would fit into the lower layer.
I spent more than one hour playing, this game is very challenging and rewarding! If it were on an app I would DEFINITELY come back to play it until the end. The puzzle structure is simple, yet you managed to keep introducing mechanics and inventing new puzzles, amazing, really, congratulations!
Nice idea, If you develop it further it would be interesting to educate young users who play the game about the function and names of different organs too as embedded form of learning while they play
Awesome game, the lack of Sound effects made the game lose it's juicyest part of moving the organs around.
Amazing game, great graphics and interesting idea.
Great game and nice graphics! Unfortunately I couldn't save Mr Livermore. It's a shame there isn't any sound in the game though.
This game is really cool and fun. I've played this kind of game before but I really enjoyed the twist you made to it adding the layers, different kind of organs and bones. That being said a bit of audio of organs and so on would have been lovely. But great game anyway :D
My favorite of the jam so far! Learned a whole lot about anatomy, thank you!
Great tool for teaching future surgeons how to operate. Now I also want three hearts and throw away unnecessary organs.
The gameplay is really fun, puzzles interesting and clever. What I missed the most is audio. Something like organ squishing or well-deserved applause when the operation is (unexpectedly) successfully completed.
I have nothing to add, it is a really great contribution to the jam.
**lol** on the 2nd level i clicked on the bladder and it started bouncing in a very weird way looking gross :cold_sweat: it looks like a bug.
overall fun game, put into educational perspective could really make it up, just dont know how your life is currency here.
also you should look into anatomy and work on it :D :potato:
@360 - There is a bug. Normally the bouncing dampens over time, but if the game lags then the bouncing can increase in energy instead. Sorry you experienced the bug
Maybe I'm not that great with puzzles, but it took me a while to understand the mechanics. Adding a bit of tutorialization would go a long way! I did have fun though, after I figured it out. The art is quite pleasant too, and some sound would go a long way to add to the mood. Also, I'm not entirely sure how well the game fits the theme, but other than that, it's a solid entry!
It's a superb puzzle game, with excellent visuals and comprehensive game loop. Well done!
Love the title screen. The graphics, in general, are great. I wish there was music to this, but I believe other commenters have said this already. I did hit a bug where if I put an organ where it couldn't go, it would do its animation but then entire background would become the color of the organ. I'm using Firefox, so no clue what that was about.
Also I did struggle to understand the difference between layers. Some more tutorial or UI feedback might help in this. Otherwise, good job!
Awesome! This game is absolutely delightful. Not really my favourite genre, but nontheless astonishing. The art fits the mood very well. Too bad there's no sound to accompany the asburd procedures. That's all I can critisize. Great stuff!
Cool game! Love the artwork, reminds me of an interactive version of the "Operation" boardgame from back in the day. Would have loved to hear some music or sfx, if your ever in need of such a thing feel free to get in touch.
This game has an insane amount of levels. Love the art and the puzzles were great. All I wanted was some music and sound effects to bring it on home, but great entry.
@bakenshake - It's a bug with the animation if the game lags
Really cool graphics, and a clever level design.
Really clever and challenging puzzle game! I got up to the three stomachs level.
This is a really well-executed puzzle game! :) My only problem is that I'm terrible at packing puzzles like these. :P So I definitely struggled a lot.
There is a *ridiculous* amount of content here! I appreciate you adding a level skip/redo in the game. Makes it really easy for stupid people like me to still see all of your mechanics and tricks! This one was really clever, and you should be proud!
Brillant entry, it's very addictive, i had to finish the game :-)
Puzzle difficulty is well balanced and i really like the organs animations ... very gore.
Congrats!
