LD44 — Your life is currency

Drowning in the Rain by OddballDave 2019-04-30T22:17:37Z

wow, thank you for sharing this - the art and audio go really well with the storytelling, and they did a great job of guiding me through the whole story; even when I got lost in the fog, it only added to tone of the whole game. this is really well-done!

Grim & Tonic by Calzep 2019-04-30T17:16:11Z

some of the mechanics in this are really cool, like trying to avoid certain matches - the art style and the audio suit the game really well too! sometimes I found it a little difficult to balance the match-3 part of the game with the timer running out but i like the concept, it's interesting! :)

The Haunting of Jonathan David Jones by Archimagus 2019-04-30T21:43:26Z

I like the concept of this, it works really well with the theme! the art and models are all really nice, especially the little details like the reflections in the piano, and the voice acting is a cool touch - I think the mouse sensitivity might be a little high which made it a bit harder to find things, but overall I like it!

A Moment To Reflect by aeveis 2019-04-30T22:47:52Z

i like this!! the concept works really well for a short little narrative and it's a really nice, different use of the theme; some of the writing is really sweet and i love the graphics and the audio - especially the little crow!

Dr. Ectomy by BoxedMeatRevolution 2019-04-30T17:09:05Z

this is a really cool idea for a puzzle game! the tutorials are done really nicely, and I love the art style and the little animations, they really suit the tone :)

Dead Frog Tell No Tales by pixelstuff 2019-04-30T22:58:27Z

this is a cool idea - i love the tone of it! the art style is great, and the music/sound effects suit it really well. i definitely think this could be made into a bigger game, it's really charming and i'd play more of it! :)

Paynplayne by OrbitalBlueprint 2019-04-30T22:21:14Z

this is a great concept! the music is great, and i really like the art style - especially M's character! :)

Seaway by Constantin 2019-04-30T22:35:25Z

wow, this is really nice to play! the art style is beautiful, especially the use of colours and how they change between all the different islands, and the music is really nice. even without trying to find other ships, just sailing around is really fun - i could play a lot of this!!

Fluffensnuff by Rongo Matane 2019-05-01T14:39:23Z

this is a really cool idea, and super polished! it's a clever concept for a puzzle, the difficulty scaling is really well-done, and i especially like the art (and the little animation for the cat being petted when you clear a level!)

missed messages. by Angela He 2019-05-01T15:35:16Z

wow, i really loved this - you've struck such a great balance between how sad the story really is and the light-hearted little memes and notes around the room, the art is gorgeous, and the music always fits the tone so well. the interface on the laptop is really nice to use too, changing the music on spotify is a great touch! this is really good, super re-playable!! :)

Autumn Papillon by Tay 2019-05-01T10:54:28Z

I really like this interpretation of the theme, and you got a lot of different options in - the little pixel aesthetic is really nice too :)

Dear Substance of Kin by Deconstructeam 2019-04-30T21:56:57Z

beautiful!! the assets and animations are really polished, the writing is great, and the music is amazing, adds so much to the feel of the game - this is a really interesting use of the theme, too! i could play a lot more of this :)

Blob World by Sir. Syko 2019-04-30T22:05:10Z

this is a really fun idea for gameplay - i found it a little difficult, but that's cool; it's a really good use of the theme, too!

Doc. BLOODAWAY by randdir 2019-05-01T14:44:11Z

this is a cool take on a rock-paper-scissors game! i think the randomness of it made it hard to stay engaged for very long but it's still an interesting use of the theme, and i like the art style a lot - it's really nice and clean, suits the tone! :)

D E A T H S G R A S P by Auzrial 2019-04-30T21:31:24Z

this was really cool - it's got a ton of atmosphere, and for a game jam you got a lot of options/endings in! I especially love the art style, the backgrounds are great! :)

FEED ME ESSENCE by dinosire 2019-05-01T14:28:55Z

this is a cool little concept, it was fun to play! i found it really difficult to get away from the ghosts once they'd caught me (do they slow you down?) but it's a really solid idea, and the pixel art is nice!

Vertigo (Don't Lose Control) by Rayquarian 2019-04-30T16:49:54Z

this is a cool little puzzle, I like the limited jump mechanics and the background art is really nice!

TRIWAR by Donitz 2019-04-30T17:23:23Z

I really liked this! the movement feels really nice and I like all the different servants, the art style is great too (especially the characters!) :)

Vampire Quest by cyriaque 2019-04-30T17:04:33Z

I really like the idea of losing health whenever you're in the sun, but having to go out there to get more blood - it's a nice use of the theme - and the background art and the animations are nice too! I think the music cuts out a bit early (maybe the track is too short?) but otherwise this was a cool game!

Hemomancers by Aditya Kumar 2019-05-01T14:50:17Z

i like the concept! i found the font on the interface kinda hard to read, but otherwise nice work, some of the spritework is really good (like the heart)!!

Blood and goods by selewi 2019-04-30T22:44:14Z

this is a really cool idea and the art style is amazing - it's so stylish and polished, really impressive for a game jam. nice work!!

Don't think about others by DAVidus 2019-04-30T16:48:13Z

I really like where you went with the theme - the enemies are really clever, especially the hearts!

Blood for Blood by tapehead 2019-04-30T21:22:54Z

wow, this is really polished! I love the art style, and the gameplay is pretty simple to pick up, and really good - I could definitely play a lot more!!

Front Line Fury by hernandack 2019-04-30T21:48:27Z

wow, for only 13 hours, this is impressive - especially with all the art and music! i found it a little slow-paced at times, but it's a really cool use of the theme! :)

utsvulten by ditto 2019-04-30T22:38:27Z

a really weird little game, but in such a good way! i really like the simple art style and animations, it's a cool take on the theme, and it was really fun just seeing what i could pick up and interact with. i like this a lot!! :)

☐☐☐☐☐ : an experimental narrative by Lapersila 2019-04-30T22:26:06Z

this is a really interesting format for storytelling! sometimes the text overlapped so i couldn't read it, and i found the game a bit slow (i didn't realise you could speed up the scrolling) which is a shame because overall it's a really interesting concept, and a cool use of the theme too! :)

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Loopomotive by Tamas Turi 2020-10-19T21:39:24Z

neat little game! simple mechanics made it really easy to pick up, but I could keep playing for ages. I definitely think you've got a really good concept you could build on if you wanted to - like others have suggested, levels, new objectives/challenges, etc, but even just with the score system, it's really fun to play! the art is really nice too - especially the background :)

Loopomotive by JPiolho 2020-10-19T21:31:43Z

I love the concept, it seems like such a simple mechanic but was really fun to play (even if I'm terrible at judging distances ;_;)! The art and UI is SO polished and I love the tiny sloth peeking out of the tree :) congrats!!

Jazz It Up by Elyaradine 2020-10-19T21:59:28Z

I loved this!! the characters are adorable and the art style really suits it - the ambient noise from the audience is a really nice touch, too. this is coming from someone who knows next to nothing about actual music theory, but I really enjoyed jamming around with all the buttons; the sound design is really good and always made me feel like I was in time/in tune. the spotlight solos are great! :)

Vrochos by Christos Avramis 2020-10-20T12:56:55Z

I like the idea of lots of little mini games - the first one with the rope was especially good! :)

Sisyphus Beetle Takes His Daughter to Work by pee-thief 2020-10-19T22:12:01Z

please tell mr sisyphus I love him

this was a really fun little game!! it was weird and the jokes were cheesy/terrible but it really made me smile :) I love the art too (especially all the craziness going on in the background)

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep-fry Deeper by Ithildin 2021-04-29T18:48:15Z

This is really good! the graphics are so polished and I love the art style, it's definitely the kind of game I'd play more of if you went on to add more levels/recipes after the jam!! (but I'm not good at filling churros )

Tunnel of Love: I'm Digging It by chelC 2021-05-02T14:36:14Z

Oh my gosh this was so good and polished! The dialogue (especially the mole facts being shoved in the texts) really made me laugh and the art style is so cute <3 I love these types of puzzle games as it is but the addition of trying to collect all the gifts was a neat mechanic, I enjoyed it a lot, congrats!!

(and thanks to @harrison-dunn for tagging me in another mole romance game, I would've been v sad to miss it )

Chthonic Brilliance by cassowary 2021-04-29T19:06:42Z

The puzzles are really well-designed, and I love the art style! The slime is so cute and the little animations like the hearts popping up at the end of a level are a really nice touch, it makes the whole game feel really polished!!

@wizard-sino thank you :sparkles:

@thomas-bringer thank you for playing it! I had plans for more obstacles or even more mechanics like digging through the ground but I couldn't give the jam the full three days sadly, had to cut back a lot to get something finished - thank you for the feedback, I really appreciate it!

River, Carry Me Away by Noire 2021-04-29T19:01:47Z

The art is beautiful, especially the sky/constellations at the end, and the music really builds an atmosphere. I actually enjoyed how minimal the interaction/mechanics were; I think the mood drew me in pretty quickly, then 'sitting back' a bit to watch the story play out was nice. Really good job!!

Mandragorae Somnus by Victor Andrade 2021-04-27T17:15:25Z

The art is gorgeous, plus with the music and the intro it really creates a creepy mood, I liked it a lot! I struggled a little bit getting used to the controls (since it mostly uses the mouse, I kept trying to use my scroll wheel to move the view instead of W/S - force of habit!) but once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed it - it's nice watching the roots grow out where you've clicked them to. Really cool use of the theme too, the mechanics suit it well!

The Deepest Booze by mechamew 2021-04-27T16:57:54Z

this was totally different from what I expected looking at the page, but I really loved it!! the characters and art style are so cute, and I like your take on the theme, it was a really nice lil message :cat:
