Great atmosphere, lighting and music, I'm astonished you have recorded a voice of the demon! :D

fear-games 2019-04-30 12:36

Great game I love the atmosphere and concept!

The game was aesthetically great, all from the pbr materials to low poly models and the sounds, astonishing ...the demonic voice was surprising...the lore thing also fills the theme nicely.

the game was not fun to play, but i had to play it to see the climax.. "what will happen?" etc. but unfortunately i was unable to find the last piece of the 'Uncle'...so i was disappointed...i searched for about 10 minutes.

also what i find more disappointing is that the collectibles clip through walls things etc. i found no use of that light switch, which only disables the lights but the emissions(for bloom) are still intact.

Finally, the piano should animate(being played by an invisible being). :) :v:

@5n1p3r-4r73m1s Thanks for the great comment. The game "not being fun" was a concern I had most of the jam. We were hoping to have a few more puzzle elements to the game to give it more of an escape the room type vibe, but that fell through.

Sorry to hear you couldn't find everything. Most likely the bottle on the piano behind the music stand, or the journal in the desk drawer.

Yeah, we had plans for the lights, but you know... time.

Also, super idea for the piano. I'd love to put that in.

I like the concept of this, it works really well with the theme! the art and models are all really nice, especially the little details like the reflections in the piano, and the voice acting is a cool touch - I think the mouse sensitivity might be a little high which made it a bit harder to find things, but overall I like it!

@5n1p3r-4r73m1s

Excellent critique, I agree with @archimagus assessment of the final product, and I blame myself for any short-comings. I do not know how to code like at all, I was meant to model, texture, and do artwork, but I spent so much time modeling that I forced the rest of the team to do most of what should have been my work.

And for that, I am sorry.

@archimagus oh, seems like i forgot to check the desk drawer...pretty sure i got the bottle

ryan-westby 2019-05-01 06:18

The music and sound design is great. I love the mood and eldritch theme. Great job!

craftlord 2019-05-01 06:25

You got the right mood in this one, with the setting and sound design! A bit simple gameplay but interesting enough to want it to play! I got stuck after the 3 paintings, I have no clue what to do next.....

sode 2019-05-01 06:35

Like @5n1p3r-4r73m1s said the game looked realy good but some less micro manage ment would make the game more enjoyable like in the first room(I don't know how many rooms there are becouse I never got throu the brother section) where you have to constantly go back downstairs to change active paintings I suggest to make a jump run or make the character just move faster, but if you want to get rid of the switching that woud be great :) good luck

yojammerjammer 2019-05-01 06:50

Spooky! Nailed the mood. <3

squirmonkey 2019-05-01 06:51

The audio is the star of this game, excellent work. The graphics are pretty impressive too. There's a lot of walking around though, and it took me forever to figure out you had to touch the paintings first. I did finish the game, though it was kinda tedious.

Would have been nice to learn more about the characters, so that throwing away their memories would actually mean something to me.

krammetje 2019-05-01 07:30

The atmosphere is amazing. Got sucked in from the start.

gimblll 2019-05-01 08:29

Liked it a lot, full of atmosphere.

kypello 2019-05-05 03:50

Interesting. Great spooky atmosphere. It looks pretty cool. I had trouble picking up some of the items. When I was on the girl I tried picking up the doll in the chest and I couldn't so I moved on, came back later after searching the rest of the room and I could pick it up. I think some kind of feedback on when you can pick up items would be great. Maybe the crosshair enlarges or changes icon, or the item gets highlighted, something to let us know we are looking at something we can pick up. Otherwise a pretty interesting game

dacri 2019-05-05 11:41

@kypello Thank you playing our game! It’s funny you mentioned it...we discussed providing feedback when finding items and ultimately decided against it to stay in line with typical “find the item” type of games. Were you able to trigger the endgame sequence?

kypello 2019-05-05 18:25

@dacri Yeah, I reached the end

miu 2019-05-15 19:11

oh wow this story is really interesting, I'd love to see a sequel or a bigger game made out of it, it had all the qualities of a great 3D point and click game

zondarg 2019-05-15 21:19

"You fulfilled your duty." Great stuff, dense atmosphere, really nice graphics and sfx (the squeaking steps ). And very lovecraftian too, I liked that! well done!

chameleon 2019-05-15 22:04

Great audio and pretty good visuals, it really has great atmosphere. I think the lighting could benefit from being toned down though, the lights / bloom effect were overly bright for me.

Giving the player the story and letting them find the related items (as opposed to giving them items in the environment and letting them piece together the story like other games do) is intriguing, I'm curious where you would've taken this concept if you had more time. Pretty good work overall.

elemental-zeal-game-studios 2019-05-17 00:01

Really great audio and graphics. The mood was very good too. Great job :)

dkmk100 2019-05-18 16:37

Its a really cool game, but its kind of confusing.

oakwarrior 2019-05-21 07:51

Superb! Very atmospheric, good sound effects, and it was interesting to play through.

It hits the theme quite well, too, in its own way, which is great :3

dushy 2019-05-21 17:56

Great game , love the conceptand sound.

philstrahl 2019-05-25 19:22

Very haunting! Here's a video with me playing and my thought on the game: https://youtu.be/NxsO8deuXdo

Really wonderful mood evoked. It's nice to see voice included in these jams. I am an indie dev/writer, but first and foremost I work as an actor/voice actor and do voice direction and casting as well. If you're interested in adding addition voice to your project or need help with voice stuff on future work please reach out. You can listen to my demo reel here.
