Connecting LD30 to the Real World by Will Edwards 2014-08-31T21:30:00
My brain exploded because of how awesome idea this is.

My brain exploded because of how awesome idea this is.
Too difficult to understand.
I made it to 3G+1W. The fun was the first jump into blue world(omg jumping!). Another funny thing is player design - I have used green squares of the same color as alpha version templates in my game.
It's really difficult to play on keyboard :(
Fun idea. Great graphics+ humour. It was unclear to me even if I made a good choice of gift or not. I lost combat before even I read instruction.
Enjoyable action-puzzle(?)
I love the bean idea as a twist on the classic tale but I feel lost on the planet. It would be nice to have arrow which points you to your objective as walking without purpose is not fun.
I really liked graphic. It was one of that few moments while looking at submission I got "Oh! so pretty" feeling.
Some times you get a kiss, sometimes you take missile to the face. It's great that such complex idea was exposed in such easy-to-understand game. It's nice that game provides 4 different scenarios - gives a clear target to the player.
Next time communists attack I will send those evil bastards 5 tons of love!
I liked the idea of having tower defence withn otwer that moves on orbits. Audio was generally positive(4/5). Graphics were ok(3/5). I didnt really have fun from playing tbh.
Interesting game idea.
Love the feel of connecting the points. It really encourages me to play.
I didn't like the gameplay but I like the concept of the game and that the idea was well executed.
Once there was a game when you played as little guy who stuck different things to him. I never got chance to play that game so thank you for that opportunity.
As for the game itself nice simplistic graphics. Self adjusting difficulty(the longer you play the more planets are connected - its easier to get into blackhole and lose) - very desirable thing. Use of momentum - very nice. Overall very good 8/10.
One of the priettiest.
Nice graphics but nothing prevents you from endless jump if you miss the planet.
I wanted to run it but my PC said no :( Why dont you make it available in web version?
It works and that's the best thing I can say about this entry. Better luck next time.
3-player checkers = great idea. But no AI(not even a random one!). I don't understand right picture in help part 4. Theme is forced into the game(instead of being part of it).
I liked how boundaries are pushed, as if it was some kind of dense liquid. The game is too complicated, too many rules so I dont even feel like figuring out how to play.
It's nice. Great animals images - really cute!
I didn't find it as addictive as I firstly thought I would. Really nice graphics. The game tries to explain to player what is happening on the screen(some games forget it leaving player clueless).
+1 to innovation for being able to simulate, in most business games you are forced to learn on your mistakes.
I don't like the way the idea is treated. As topic was connected worlds - worlds in plural. Globalization is much more about single world being able to connect as whole.
Much love for the Octopus :3
I hate when I'm forced to give high rating on pixel-art game. It's such a cheap trick that always works. Everything in this game is at least 4/5 as well.
Snowflakes! But for the rest nothing new.
It's all big grind fest but with so much fun. I love simplistic graphics that perfectly match the silly plot. I finished the game but was unable to collect shoes in the forest. I clicked too quickly to see what amulet does :(.
At some point I got a message on left top of my screen which made it impossible to see my health.
One of my fav LD entries(if not THE fav). Shame you cant increase your hp.
Mixing 2 classical games into one --> Good idea!
SO pretty...<puking rainbow>
I liked the idea but why is it that if you fail you cant repeat a level?
I like the idea but it must be introduced in simpler way.
Finally a nice way toi dela with the LD's worst theme ever.
Beautiful but we need hints.
Nice take on screen
You tricked me. There si very little boobs in this game!
But I loved bullets, they were really pretty.
Gameplay doesn't work for me. I cant serve the customers even if I want to. Poor beerless souls:(
Simple but innovative!
Doesnt work for me. I press play and nothing happens.
GO COUNTER-CLOCKWISE should be written in god damn big letters. I didn't really enjoy it. It seems most of your effortweas put into making a pretty title screen.
Reloading takes about 10 seconds.
It starts once you shoot your last bullet.
Too complicated. i dont even feel like figuring out how to play.
It's panda!
Likes: audio, gaming area(it's seems so big)
Dislikes: That floating Tv. Couldn't you keep it in fixed position?
And he found his love...
I dont really get fun from playing this game. I know somewhere in it there is whole bunch of special customers pushing the plot forward but they are not worth of rather boring gameplay. Nice you included Speed quickening bar.
PS Why coctail=liquor?
I dont really understand it. How should I build robot in a way that it would be msot effective?
Text loads too slwoly. No way to speed it up. I cant play it, too slow!
These heroes are so tiny and adorable.
Like the idea but I dont understnad how to play in efficient way.
There's not really much to rate in this game. Overall dislike.
Replay sequence takes way too long. After Failure I need to -click Replay - click deflaut enviroment - Start game. It should be "click on mouse ot try again". For the game itself it seems as simple innovative fun.
Even though I'm allmighty Gaia I feel useless. These humans are spreading and there is nothing I can do about it:(
Terrible audio. Ok Graphics. Not enough fun to make me wanna play it for longer time.
I really liked jetpack. Strange enemies spawning mechanics(airborne dinos?). Didn't notice they were dinos until I read the instruction. Audio was ok maybe even a little over the average. The gun is strange. I like how bullets behave but I feel like I'm shooting a water gun:) Mechanics was comfrotable and easy to use.
High on mood and audio. Above average on graphic. /shame there is no aim of the game. In point and click games its always nice to give a solution(in link) as well.
I dont really get this game. I dont understand what is the aim of the game. Not the best entry. Better luck next time.
Too laggy for me. Im using firefox.
The best game of the jam (equal only to slime quest). Wins on everything. Shame I found it out 16h before end.
Liked audio. Usually people add music that make you search for mute button. This however wasnt the case.
Smooth controls. Cute graphics. Nice audio. Loads of fun.
I hated it at first but then it turn out to be fun experience. Likes for theme, graphics and innovation. Dislike for audio.
High on graphic(love mantis, chickens, rabbit and everything else), Ok on audio. Gameplay could be more entertaining.
You wrote in description
"Graphics: only the bunny was made by team members
Audio: only the music was made by team members"
I don't understand it :(
The music - You have really nice voice + really funny :)
Graphic - The main character should become a mascot for this edition of Ludumdare! Shame the main character doesn't move it's legs as you move. The building all looks alike and destroying them could be better. Floor would be nice as well.
Gameplay - Let's be honest could have been better. It comes to pressing w and mashing o and p as fast as you can.
What would I like to see is destorying a set up city (for example NY) and after I'm done watching what rumble my cute litte Ludzilla have done.
Overall: High on humor, theme and audio.
I didn't find it enjoyable. No idea what was going on screen, what was the aim etc. Think more about player next time.
Finally f*cking over...
And I'm not saying this because I didn;'t like it I'm saying this becuase I manged to finish and the game was challenging. I was constantly forced to fight against rage-quit.
I like that flappy bird mechanic implemneted in game I find tihs extremely innovative.
Graphic is simple becuase game is simple. It's nice to see grapphic going along tightly with the idea of the game instead of typical "Let's make pixel art, bitches love pixel art".
What I am misssing is counter how many levels left. Another thing are bodies. I liek that they stay on screen but you should limit the maximum number of bodies on screen.
Overall: I enjoyed it. 5 for innovation.
The whole language learning systme is so juicy! (5/5 Innovation). And monsterish letters!
I love Monster simplistic logic talking:
- You camera?
- You give Camera, I move bridge (Talking with IQ around 15 but it's so charming)
Monster design is really cute but I hate texture used for platforms ( even solid color would be much better)
I think connection to theme is rather weak. The MONSTER part is in game but YOU ARE get lost somewhere.
PS Game feels japanese at first sight.
Low on theme: Really weak connection to it.
Graphics : Fair enough
Audio: Ok for a while but I won't remember it as best in LD
Gameplay: Okay-ish - no bugs but not getting a lot of fun from playing
Overall: Average. In future try to add some feature that will make this game stand out from the crowd.
Going around smashing random things? Nah.
Amazing. It's really easy to be put off by this game as it's really easy to die at the begining but once you get hold of it it's wow. You just need to understnad tha you infect unarmed first and then go frenzy.
Graphic is good. You don't expect miracles from 72 hours game. But the graphic is good enough for player to feel mood of the game. Rain and fire shining from barrels all that adds up to the mood. My only complain is that police should be significantly different from civilians.
Gameplay. If you want to play sneaky you play using arrows. If you want to Zerg rush them you use Frenzy. Frenzy generally works but sometimes tends to set infected in line making them easy target for police(all dead in one round). What I'm missing is counter of infected on top of the screen. I'm missing as well a command all infecte go to me as well of switching to next infected (not one nearest to me). Being sneaky gives you some fun but seeing a horde rushing on police outpust gives you a big adrenaline rush!
Music. Atmospheric. SFX of shoots really works on em as well.
Theme. When I tihnk you are the monste rI'm thinking more like a singular entetity than a horde but still who cares since this game is fun.
OVERALL: THIS GAME IS FUN IF YOU GIVE A TRY!
Fun game but for God's sake make a walkthrough! Even better if it was really made in 6 hours (finding it hard to believe).
Ps. This is the first game in LD that makes me feel like asshole.(in a good theme-related way)
Game seems laggy in random moments.
Elements of the world seemed very detailed. At the same time the screen missed such basic things as UI showing health and ammo.
Shooting is really weak, You have very detailed chairs but you haven't done animation for player shooting or zombies getting hit. There is strong contrast within game - some graphical elements are awesome while others are disappointing.
The game is strong on mood but I have mixed feeling if being patient zero makes you a monster.
Audio fits well in atmosphere.
Bug: After finding letter I went to roof, I tried to pick up object and my game died.
Great tiny art. Innovative phycis mechanics. Audio is just sound of shooting and tiny step - but that's enough no need for anything more. I didn't care about story just enjoyed the game instead.
I don't know why I am slowing down as I eat flowers. I guess it supposed to game more difficult but its jsut get on my nerves.
High on music (nice folk toon)
Ok on graphic (nice desing of characters but no background art)
Low on gameplay.
I really tried to get both endings - Couldnt get either of them :(
Ps. I didn't know that Hungarians have Straszydło (Polish spelling ) as well
Very nice, graphic, audio and gameplay. Everything is at high level. I dont really sure what am I playing (some kind of slime ghost?).
I liked the light effects but have a lot of bad things to say abot game flow.
- Text was scrolling to quikly for me to read. In future try to use scroll text as I press down arrow
- Cages were often out of screen, searching for it was painful
- When I died(last level) I was respawned at the end of elvel before. Why?
- Game wasn't really challenging
- As for the art it's obvious there is a talent here but I feel like the items have been made originally smaller and then rescalled x2. This give not the best results
Overall: Game has some nice ideas, changing human2monster, monster2human, knocking to get guards attention, knocking down walls. The levels are too simple however for player to play with all introduced mechanics.
I like the inverted Monster Inc. I don't have fun from playing. Never been a fan of rythm games. I would play longer if there were more monsters designs in next levels.
Scaring monsters with duck is fun but I would like to see it somehow developed so the whole scaring process has bigger humorous impact.
Great art. I had fun playing it but one run is enough for me.
SFX was nice but music was annoying.
All 5s
I dont really feel connection to the theme.
The gameplay could have been better.
On the main screen instruction is difficult to read(color). Waves in grass level are stealing too much focus.
I bet I would love this game if wall climbing wasn't broken - completely counter intuitive, makes me wanna bash my head against table.
I feel like a child from whom somebody stolen previously given candy. "Here you go awesome game... oops the wall climbing doesn't work so no fun for you" and then the child cries :(
+1 to web doesn't load - Firefox here
I see not only for me the game made error.
To be honest I never thought anyone would come up with idea to make MirrorEdge... and make it better than original!
This game is evil. But I guess it's okay(-ish) since you are a monster.
I'm really missing back story to why you are harvesting human. I'm curious as well how branching algorithm works.
Menu upgrade is not displaying properly once you buy out the upgrade
I really enjoyed slaughtering sheeps. Rroblem starts when you get to fluffy - nothing left to do. Choosing Enter for controls was terrible idea as well.
Overall: Fun!
Graphics are nice. I see some idea to make innovation with different characters. Music is terribly annoying. I don't feel fun from playing it. Even if I played together with someone I still doubt if it would give me fun.
I don't understnad it. Cool logo at the begining though. And nice music.
Soooo pretty + I love the style(orange, white,black).
Up arrow doesn't work. Everything aside from music is bad.
I wanted to play but I didn't see how big it was so I stopped downloading midway.
Didn't make it to the end, maybe not my type of game.
Dislike: Music, shaky screen
Like: Grumpy monster's answers
When I saw screenshot I didn't seem fun but then I played and it was great one minut.
High on everything except graphic.
TAKE THAT TOMMY!
Liked the moment when blood started appearing(great mood) but overall I dont get the plot.
Nice take on theme. The game could use some improvements in both gameplay(adding some eye-candies) and graphic. Generally speaking everything works no gmae crashes detected.
I don't usually play boulder dash games but I gave it a try. Some levels were truly exhausting(made it thorugh them all).
I like that instead of pick level, go to level we have here a city with buildings each one representing different levels.
Tile by tile animation is rather painful. I know it's required by games logic but character could have moved from one tile to another instead of jumping betwen them.
I don't really get it. You got your farm, your monsters are kinda cute but what's the point of it all?
PS Meteor was fun!
PS2 I manage tocrash the game. I think meteor has thrown away some of monsters and game didn't accpet this fact.
I really dislike that skeletons can't attack (acts only as living shields).
Aside from that over all like in all (graphic, sounds, gameplay). I would probably preffer to move using wsad.
Big like for burning houses - Really nice effect.
I like the idea but city level need soem work as it was difficult to move (to narrow)
Liked the idea. Both art and sounds are nice. Everything keeps you in mood.
1. I would like to have greater control on what is happenening (as I feel I lost out of the blue)
2. I would like to speed up animation on click during sacrifices
3. Accept button sometimes overlays text.
PS. Any inspiration by wicker man?
Overall: Strong points are graphics, innovation and mood
Your game hates me. I downloaded clicked heart icon => hear music, see black screen :(
High on idea - classic game in reverse.
Ships tends to get lost near edge doing strange things.
Pressing down arrow all the time is no fun. Level progresssion neeeds better, more entertaining approach.
As game is minimalistic in graphics it's reasonable to demand more(better characters + maybe some background and UI)
Graphics - above average(4), music - ok(3.5)
Gameplay:
Boring but with potential. Even thought you have 3 guards while you are searching you only have one. Let's face it in this game there are to phases:
- Searching
- Hunting (once you find prey)
In Searching I would preffer if it was mor etime managemnet thing, that you could give orders to your guards.
Guard 1- Check boxes in room
(Giving orders to guard 2)
Guard 1 done? Check other room!
(Giving orders to 3)
2 done? Shift+2 => Another room!
In hunting I wish it was more stlaking the prey, setting the guard so that if prey runs from one guard he meets another.
Overall: High on innovation but I feel weak connection to theme.
Mah is the best word describing this game. No bugs, gameplay works but I dont get fun from it, music and graphics are average so again... mah.
I was like WAAAARGHH! and humans were "0h no!" and then I was like "pew, pew DIEEEE!"
The only thing Im missing is dashing through the baloon with my head.
High on everything
I liked the talking flowers and throwing cats but I feel like gameplay could be more interesting.
I liked the music but didn't find it interesting enough to kill 100 Marios (killed 20 and quit).
The idea is cool but running around single girls isn't very fun. I want to see a whole schooltrip... and kill them!
Traps could have been better both in grpahical sense and action. A bear trap would have been better. It's out of ancient Egypt convention but still I think it would work better.
Vomitting on girl is really difficult to control - difficult to hit a girl.
Music is ok and adds mood.
Overall: High on mood, Innovation and Fun (fun only because I know hwo mcuh fun this could could be if all issues were fixed and there were more girls)
Cons: Lack of objective. There is no tactic for player to take while scaring kids.
Entry below average.
Can't run it.
What am I supposed to do when I see wake up in main screen?!
Funny once there are 3+ enemies on screen. How do I score points?
I liked the audio but I felt there was too much narrative in the balck field instead of putting in the game itself.
I liked it, especially high on fun (not many entries gave me fun playing so this one is sweet surprise). Killed everybody with risk of 5% and got pretty decent result (1-2 innocnet killed). Should I be pround of myself or AM I THE MONSTER?
Nice concept but:
- too slow
- no idea how this slave is better from another
Nice art (love the monkey). I liek the idea that you can ask slaves a question.
Had some problems with understanding some of clues (refuses to stand, doesn't want red anywear near it).
Aside from that overall like with innovative idea.
Love the take on theme. Soemtimes I dont know whatto do though :(
Simplistic graphic works. Using right mouse button is terrible idea - my browse wants to do some stuff instead of letting my play. Mouse easily goes off screen as well.
I dislike the color of floating balls of decomposition gun - Die! Purple! Die! become red or black
Theme: connection to theme is weak, killing humans and that's it.
Overall it works but I don't feel reason to play it for longer period of time.
No players, no game :(
... I want to kill some gummy bears
Audio is ok. Godzilla is really cute (poor misundersttod lizard). Game is simple yet challenging.
To everyone wondering there is an end!
While idea is good but cats need redesign. There is too many kittens and it's difficult to understnad how to use them effectively. In what situation each cat is useful. I suspect it's not always possible to prevent baby from hitting obstacle.
Graphic was nice.
Audio was meh. Better than nothing but not very much.
Easy to relate. Good mixture of easy and challenge. Star puzzles were the only difficult ones.(12, 15, 16)
I don't feel the magic. For me it remains a simple match game.
Liked the graphic. Like the idea but is too strongly based on reflex and not enough on puzzle.
It isn't the best submission but:
1. It wasn't so bad. Seen worst. You can look up at my submission. This should lift your spirits.
2. You managed to create something. it works. It doesn't have bugs.
3. If you come up with idea and you see that someone else is doing it you shoudln't feel discouraged. It's not your fault that somebody else has good ideas and the happen to be similar with yours.
Overall: If it were your first LD I would say great job. Since you asipre for something more I will be hoenst saying it's average. More luck in next edition.
Top-notched music, sounds and graphic. Love the idea of exping. Ratehr weak connection to the theme.
Took me about 40 deaths, 20 of which are dedicated to second platform in 3rd room.
Overall: I throughtly enjoyed it.
Bug: in level 5/9 camera doesn't scroll up.(Firefox)
I love the idea but after the while I stopped liking mirror levels. I feel like there is not enough feedback for the player in mirror levels - why prince is (un)attractive.
For the gameplay itself this is a gem. Everytihng runs smoothly. Game is eye-candy and sounds just add to overall perfection.
Overall: Very strong entry
I felt really confused about what does what. Sometimes your spikes stay-out for longer time sometimes they just punch. Sometimes you can kill blue ones sometimes you don't. I know it is all written in the description but it's just too much reading.
I enjoyed the main character. It was adorable. Varying Blade rotation as you speed up was a nice touch. Gaining speed and killing snakes was fun.
I didn't use kite that much. The same goes for spacebar in ball-mode.
In last level there is a platform in right top screen that is outside of playable area.
Font was difficult to read and discouraged me from reading. Same goes for power-up icons. I couldn't tell what they were representing.
Overall: Not the best ever entry but it provided me with some fun. I don't regret playing it.
I feel like I hacked most of the levels - using game flaws in mechanic/design to solve levels using simpler approach than intended by creator.
Graphic could use some work. On the other hand I really liked the animation.
Controls are ok, no major bugs found.
My biggest complain is color pallete - too much intensity.
Overall: I enjoyed it. Amazed by number of levels.
Eveyrthing needs work: models, sounds, controls. Both lack of animation and fixed rotaton position is painfully visible. It took me a while to talk to first NPC(not obvious).
Sfx gt on my nerves. Try using this: http://jfxr.frozenfractal.com/#
I got to the last boss but got a bug which prevented me from facing it to the front; this resulted in rage/bug-quit. I could only swithc between right and left rotation.
Use of mouse to change between states is a big no. If you are making a game that is keyboard only you should stick to it (just add another control button to switch between forms)
Better lack next time. I think you failes the same way as I did - by going for too big scale project.
Ps. Love unimplemented mechanic joke.
I love the piggy. Especially fat and floating.
I had the problem with game flow. I was constantly repeating the same 3 levels. I don't know why. Once I restarted the game I went to what seems like first level but couldn't complete it (one with water, island and some more water). There is no option to return to menu from inside the game.
overall: High on graphics
The idea is mind blowing! I <3 it.
At the same time I thought the game was very harsh especially at the beginning. I would add additional checkpoint just before the first jump. Learning curve is too difficult. Try slowing the first laser down.
Graphic and soudns were good. But I was struggiling with controls (big time). The mechanic of moving just doesn't seem to be good enough.
Overall: Strong entry with emphasis on innovation.
Sidenote: I didn't encounter any bugs but I feel that some design things scould have been done better. For example a checkpoint should point you in direction of progress after dead (it wasn't always the case.
Cool effect, sadly I don't get the gameplay
Enemies shouldn't just pop-up on the screen - they should travel from outside. They shouldn't cluster into one as well.
See other example of top-downs to see what could have been done better.
No bugs but nothing special.
Great on graphics. The best I've seen so far.
Minor flaws:
The game is really hard unless you find a weapon. Leveling up doesn't increase your damage - this doesnt feel right. Sometimes corpses get in the way. Aiming with range weapon could have been better.
Overall: Enjoyable with art being the biggest selling point. Strong entry.
It was meh. No bugs encountered.
The boss fight really needs enemy health bar.
Like for graphics. Bad controls - really uncomfortable (keyboard). Especially turning is painful. Physics could have been better as well.
Shame that hitting legs deals the same amount of damage as hitting the torso. I see no reason to use jump to be honest.
"I worked in to get a high quality visuals" - if that was your main focus with this entry I must say you fully completed your plan.
2 players games are bad ideas. People usually are lacking co-player.
4 key controls was another dislike. In classic snake you use two buttons and it should stay like this. The rest of the game is average. I feel that character are moving a little too fast. There is a lot of place for improvements so that to make game more wow.
I have very limited internet transfer so I was amazed to see that such game has 100mb. It's a lot for game like this. As I looked through the files I've seen you kept your sprites at full size scalling them to 0.15 in game. This is bad practice. Scale the sprites - this decreases file size.
Can't pass pee-pee level. I think overall the game requires too much as it difficult to pose robot with mouse only.
It would be often the case that my robot stays on platform after the wall but the level would be considered failed. This is really not cool.
I gained a lot of respect when I have seen that game requires use of mouse + uses physics engine. Nice change from fixed position setting.
Weak Audio.
Overall: That was OK (this statement is the best in expressing how I feel about this entry)
I love the simplisitc idea. A shape changing face form happy to sad was a ncie touch. Music depsite being simplistic worked. Even if you didn't like it there was a mute option so it's good.
The biggest problem is that in order to restart a game you needed a mouse. This was weak as you force player to constantly switch between mouse and keyboard. Another thing is lack of level number. i want to know how much levels are there left. I don't mind finishing 5 levels but perspective of 20 levels in a single go - how about no.
Overall: Despite the lack of everything I really enjoyed it.
Good on graphics and sounds. Graphic simplistic but neat. Sounds are well done in terms both of typical audio (music+sfx) and voiceover.
Problems:
1. Not very engaging.
2. Picture flickers a lot.
3. Life toolbar gets in the way of seeing obstacle
Overall: Well done but more something you would play on your way to school than home. Not innovative.
Disliked the audio, a lot of people use their voice for sfx but most of them do it better. Shooting is really solid and randomness of rebounce make a great effect. Graphic is really basic. My main problem is lack of end, point toward I'm heading.
" "My grandson is... MY GRAND SON!!!!" RATATATATATATATATA!!!! And then the game starts :) " is probably the best elevator pitch ever.
300 mb - probably more than all other LD games I played combined and then it turns out it's packed in 7zip instead of something normal. Such a let down.
Graphic was ok but as for the rest could have been better. Weak connection to the them.
I gave up after day 1. Graphic is above average. Music is ok but the rest is painfully lacking.
There is no indication of meth quality during day. I want to know that I did epic A+ score meth and if only I make it to the end of day I will sell it for lots of cash.
The whole gaemplay is a "no". If only there were some upgrades along the way - nothing fancy a damage upgrade/better cooking, anything.
I played 3 times because two of them got bugged. In first run I manged to get two additional number at the end of the clock so getting to 15:00 was impossible. During the second run I couldn't reach the phone - got stuck. Little bugs are acceptable but game breaking ones are big no.
Lack of animation was something that really struck me. You clearly are a talented artist so why the character can't have a 3 sprite animation of walking?
I think you might have invested too much time on graphic and not enough on gameplay and concept. Next time try to concentrate on those and if you can't use idea that always works platformer/topdown shooter and turn it to 11 with your art.
See you next jam.
Too slow. I dislike that dangers stay on screen for such a long time and you can bump by mistake into them.
The difficulty curve is to slow. I got bored and quit because it wasn't challenging enough.
The game isn't self-explanatory - needed to read instruction 3 times to serve drinks. Left goblin doesn't work well. I stand around customers pushing Q and E like a mad men hoping that this spot might be the one where customer might take the drink.
Good mood. Liked the dancing goblins, drunk vikings walking animation and sounds of inn talking. Probablby could have been made even better but it's above average. (4/5)
Just wondering. If left goblins take 2 bad drinks is it possible to remove/replace them?
I think better GUI is needed. I felt I was missing my best choices - while in torture menu maybe atrocity would be a better choice in current situation but I'm in torture menu so I can't see all of my possible actions.
Too hard - managed only to get one confession in 2 tries. Maybe assistant role could have been bigger, something to let me take rest while he would do his job (with some risk of unexpected reuslts).
I would probably play longer if I saw there was a chance of me winning. I see potential in the idea and would really like to play ver 2.0.
When I think of it I really like the theme the "one room that noone wants to go to" :)
Audio was trying to be moody but was tiring as well.
Ps. How do I rate humor in a game about mutulation?
The apricot is adorable and if I had a heart it would melt(but I don't). The gameplay wouldn't work in any other scenario but it's just excuse for playing with that lil cute apricot <3. The sound was awesome (where did you get the tune). Visually it's really really pretty. Nice use of motion blur.
Complains:
- Need pointer in the middle of the screen. It was difficult to grab apricot
- After droping apricot to the bin it's difficult to pick it up (you can't see it)
- Ocasional bugs and big white overlighted ceiling.
I'm deeply ashamed to say it but it's probably the best entry I have seen so far. (I'm really disgusted by saying this but it's true)
Amazing graphic and sounds (want to download songs). Funny jokes under upgrades. Shame I can't control characters and all my interaction comes down to trigger all specials as fast as you can (since you don't know what they do). Even potion heals everyone so there is no strategy there.
I could easily see this game on sposored web game page.
Love the shaders. I like that it's a vast space. Not really challenging but enjoyable nevertheless. Audio fits well.
Materials are really beliveable. The gameplay is not fun. Movement is too heavy and sticky. Liked the concept but execution needs some work.
Once I understood how swipping works it became fun. I felt a lot of results were random - avoid war at all cost and my population suffers?
I enjoyed the mood and humor very much. Good entry. The only complain is weak connection to the theme.
I liked the chain reaction as you cast your spell but the whole concept of kill X zombies with one shot wasn't the best one. Spell should recover over time instead of being pick up depended. Graphic was ok. Sounds of zombies were cool but sound of arrow was getting on my nerves. Arrows were useless. Traps on the floor were interesting.
The game didn't really gave me that much fun - the idea for resetting the clock was boring. Something more challenging would have been better. I like the little eyes when you were hiding. In hiding mode I think the darkness is a little to dark.
I have enjoyed the idea and the concept. Audio has really cool chilling tune. I feel like my interactin could have done more - I felt while trying to seperate some guys I was killing them :(
Like the eggs and that my tiny humans grow.
Love the art style and idea - both for gameplay and furnitures. I would prefer faster gameplay though. Something to indicate how many puzzles are left would be a nice touch as well.
It was fun. Cool at everything. Criticism: I felt that fight often felt random. I will rate high on everything except for humor because I don't felt there was really anything in that entry would make me laugh. Good thing that you made checkpoints.
As expected from your team: very strong entry but when comparing it to the gems your team have delivered in the past I felt this one is lacking a lil bit.
I feel lost and don't know where to start.
It's awesome. I've seen it on LD postwall and ignored it. Make it a gif instead because still picture takes away a lot.
If I play on Web do I play against AI or other players?
Loved that you start facing each other. Rises your adrenaline from the start. Obstacles are great as they force you to change directions.
Too short and too easy. I like the dark atmosphere.
Walking among dead pixels like yourslef is wow - would like to see more of that maybe blood spills or crippled enemies about to die?
I have enjoyed it. Audio is minimal but gets job done.
I love the idea but lightning intensivity is too small. I can't see difference between space and stairs (contrast too small). Playing really hurts my eyes. If you plan version 2.0 I would gladly play. I think I would really like this game if not for the lightning issue.
Ps. Have you though about allowing player to tag (grafitti) on walls? Like in CS.
I like 1984 setting (despite not reading it) but I have some complains:
1. After clicking edition notes, the notes overlap actual text so it's difficult to distinguish them.
2. You can't escape the reading mode with mouse. (Haven't tried ESC)
3. By the way for which country I'm actually working for? - It would be good to point that out.
4. I don't undrstand why you are allowed to edit text only once.
5. Some inidcator saying how "good" journalist you were would be helpful as well.
I enjoyed a variety of tasks and helps such as maps. What bothered me is if there is actual end to the game.
Good innovative entry.
and yes music generators are allowed :)
I didn't make it past first character but I really liked that level did got more difficult with each respawn and it was more than just more enemies. Good graphic but irrigating sound.
Really good art but the game itself is unplayable. Mobs don't have pathfinding system and no AI - thay won't even come to the heroes to fight them. If you place hole in front of the exit you won't be able to lose. I feel the project was too ambitious for 72 hours.
Love the art - what trick did you use? Audio is fine but gets a little annoying with time. I finihsed the game in first go so it didn't bother me much. UI is kinda meh but I liked the <3 idea.
Overall: It was fun. A little weak connection to the theme and you could probably make walls look better - in the same clay like style.
This was great fun. Shame that the challenge starts at level 3 so you have to suffer through not so interesting first two levels. Graphic and sounds are very good although I wasn't sure what brown and gray rooms were, I assume cinema and sleeping rooms but wasn't sure.
Very good entry. I lke that's complete product that's overall strong, not limit to one selling point. It was a little confusing at first.
Room reviews were nice touch.
I like the idea but execution could have been better. The pointer requires you to be to precise and you don't have time for that. Sometimes the object of interest ends up in closed wardrobe and it causes bug - you can see through wall of wardrobe but you can't really pick up the object. I would change marking of object of interest from white to something different since you have very well light enviroment the object doesn't stand out as it should.
I see potential in the idea but you should figure out mechanic which would ensure that by the end player would end up in total mess that once used to be a room.
"roguelike" not really. Punching out guys was fun but once I hit 100 I got bored. Audio is what stands out - where did you get it? It's a good entry but nothing innovative. Is there really a boss at the end or is just to make people play longer?
Very good. Kinda difficult at the begining but on third try I won. Love the comments and audio.
I like the concept but I don't feel that my actions effect anything. Sometimes I had troubles identifying people with dates. I want to go to Monroe age but don't remember the date and I end up dancing with Hitler (and his cactus). Not sure why did you restrict time-travelling to one visit per age.
Game needs hints or some better scoring system to at least say if we did good or bad at stoping Trump. I feel news could have been more crazy. Hitler as peace loving rock star, Monroe as conservative housewife, Freud as transvestite - that would be something.
The game is good on technical level. Art is good and gives good feel of the era. Sounds and music fit in nicely but design is still missing that extra something.
Too many things to be remembered before playing. Look at instruction and put yourself in position of somebody who reads it for the first time - do they have any chance of remembering it? Rotation made me a little nauseous.
Good that you made it through your first LD. Next one will be better.
Sorry but I'm not downloading NES emulator to play your game. Let me know if you do port for something normal.
Tried it online but didn't like it. Graphic was somehow interesting but jumping is so much pain. I guess we tend to forget how shitty games used ot be back in the retro days. If game was easy I was probably try to finish it but gave up on level 3. Mostly because of jumping.
I appreciate the graphic and mood but not the gameplay.
