On the Growth of Ludum Dare and the Selection of Themes by Crowbeak 2015-08-26T10:12:00
Ha this made me smile. I actually "played" it twice to go on a different journey thru it, you've put a surprising amount of depth in it :D

As mentioned by the other commentors, great art work and has a cool feel. Seems like the sort of thing that could be expanded on to make a full game.
I like the style of art. It would have been good if there were upgradeable weapons to get more coins per whack!
Really nice graphics, like the sounds too. Definitely one of the most polished looks to it of all the entries Ive seen so far.
I like the idea of this game, and the main character is cool. I think it is a game that could be expanded upon to actually become pretty decent.
I found the background "music" disturbingly funny. Like the names to such as 'potassium park'. Would have been badass if the banana sat chilling in his hammock smoking a fat cigar instead of walking around.
I think you succeeded in making audio the main focus, it works brilliantly. Love the intro voiceover, and then the gameplay is really good too. This is already a very good game, which considering the time constraints of ludum dare, is very impressive. Great job!
I love the topic, not one many would think of :D It was a bit annoying that you cant move both glands at same time, you have to stop pressing down one side to move the other, Id have prefered the gameplay if you could move them at same time. Having said that I like the control idea, feels like proper arcade style.
Like the idea of getting bigger/smaller, thats a nice dynamic. I found it a bit difficult to see the actual snowballs from the particles effect, perhaps could have been a different way to do that. Shame you didn't have time to add some sound effects/music too. But its a nice little game.
I can't play this, I downloaded it and when I tried to play it the screen said "Oh no its broken" and "We didnt get a depth buffer, bad things happen". Shame, if you know a fix let me know and I'll have have another go at playing.
I love this concept. At the start I didn't get it, I couldn't get to the first door, because I couldn't tell it was a door. But once I figured that out I understood the game. Big thumbs up from me.
The intro scene, and tutorial are really funny! It has very good depth considering the short amount of time in the jam, phenomenal effort. I couldn't work out the lazer first, I thought a press would fire it, then I saw the crosshair, once I twigged that the points started racking up. I like the decision to use drawing and your voice effects, makes for a charming game.
I really like the end scene, the colors flashing are great. I think the sounds work well and it is funny.
I think you should have made the days shorter, and with the money falling faster. Judging by other comments people getting upgrades quicker might have kept them interested, and funny noises would have been great I think.
You've got some good ideas in this game. It didn't seem to show my score up at the end though, or record a high score or anything. A feature as simple as that definitely needs adding in. With nice graphics and polish this could grow to something good.
After 5 seconds of seeing this I really liked the use of the theme! A monster, yet a monster people like so you could still make a friendly game, clever. Graphics are cool and sound effects as well.
I really like this, the arcade feel of it is cool. The way you die and it reloads is a simple but wicked effect.
Thanks for the comments guys. Im glad you all "get" what the game is trying to do, I found it very difficult in the short amount of time to try and make a game like this where it is about the story and the emotion, not the graphics, so Im pleased it has worked on some level.
Good job on the graphics and sound, the concept is cool, although I found after a few plays my interest falling off pretty quick, perhaps in a post LD version there could be different modes or other ways to spice it up. The one thing that bugs me is it seems to have nothing whatsoever to do with the theme of 'you are the monster', these are dragons, seems a shame you didn't make them monsters instead and call it 'tales of the memory monster' to stay in the spirit of ludum dare.
Its a shame you hadn't got more gameplay done because the name and idea seem decent.
Some of the nicest graphics in Ludum Dare 33 for sure, looks lovely!
I really like this, the intro dialogue is cool and adds depth to it, I found the gameplay quite tough too. Nice use of the theme.
