It`s fun but a bit too hard.
This is rather hard, I see why these types of games have not been combined before!
Yes. It's not easy. Also the card drawing code seems to have a tiny bug that makes it even harder (The whole deck should follow a shuffled sequence, but instead each set follows its own sequence. So you could end up with much challenging card combinations)
Interesting concept!
I wish it wasn't completely random. I played for a while but couldn't lose or win.
It was, however, very fun to click on the cards and it felt very smooth along with the fitting graphics.
Nice work!
I like so much your concept, It's so cool
If you shoot two times too fast the enemy will be invisible but I like your card game concept so much
@HagamosVideojuegos Thanks for the kind words! I sort of know this bug (two blinking animation clashes, rookie mistake :-) ).
@Ruoyu the bug do not broke the game, for a compo game is not a problem, amazing work ;)
Great game! Really liking the concept.
Minor point, but right now it feels extremely difficult to dodge bullets. I do think it'd be easier if either the bullet speed was slower, or there were key bindings to the cards in your hand.
Awesome work!
Good job, really neat concept. It would be nice to be able to use hotkeys on the cards instead of just clicking them (like 1-5 or something). -(Bug) At some point the enemy became invisible, unless I hit him with a bullet (then he would flash)
I really enjoyed this game, it was really fun.
An interesting concept, though the enemy always regenerated health faster than I drew aim and shoot cards...
This is a great game! I love it! The idea was highly innovated. Great job! I really enjoyed playing and the sound effects and graphics were amazing. The only suggestion I have is to improve the randomization of the cards. Sometimes I would get a lot of movement cards and it would be a while until I got other cards. Other than that, you did a great job!
This game felt to me like it was more about luck than anything else. Even when trying to get into positions where I would be able to burn cards I don't want and save up cards I need, then pop out to hit the enemy with straight shots - that was insufficient to win unless I got more of the right cards whilst doing that.
It's a cool concept. I think it might work better turn based. As it stands now the best strategy just seems to be to play cards the fastest.
I won!
Movements could be frustrating sometimes but when I understood a few thing I was able to be consistent. Volume is a bit loud also.
The idea is nice and the mix is daring, the fact that it is not really turn-based what surprising.
Pretty solid game!
I like the idea of this but it is frustrating when you want to move in a direction that you have no cards for. If you had movement cards that allowed you to move x spaces in any direction you wished that might help with the movement frustration.
Great game! Enjoying the various card/hybrid games coming out in this jam, but this is my favourite. Challenging but quickly becomes tactical and rewarding. Well done!
This game is screaming out for customisable decks and online multiplayer! Great game.
I actually liked the system of reacting to cards, timing your use of them to avoid bullets, and the challenge it added to simple navigation around the map.
Unfortunately I found it suffered a bit from RNG, where I'd get stuck in a corner and have to spam cards in hope of the right direction to get out of the corner. Perhaps this could have been coded in to help played avoid getting stuck like this.
The music unfortunately was a bit much after a few minutes playing. Nice combination of genres, interesting and rather unique gameplay too!
I like the idea and use of theme. I've made RNG games in the past so I understand how much of a PITA it is to balance it. I found that the "Right" cards came up the least as far as the direction cards were concerned. All in all it was a good game. Congrats on completing and submitting your game!
Super neat concept! I toyed with something similar but couldn't get the logistics sorted quick enough, great work!
Works really well as a mobile game, this is definitely a concept you could easily build on. Great work!
The RNG felt like it was too random at times, having a way of swapping cards for a payoff somehow (maybe from different deck types?) could be a good way to counter this.
Those are quite the incompatible genres! Was frustrating at first, but then I started paying more attention to getting myself into positions where I could burn the cards that made negative progress, and I stuck with it, and it was very rewarding to finally defeat my enemy. Perhaps some way to just discard a card (still pay the cost?) would have been nice, and less frustrating.
