THIS GAME, WOW, just WOW. I looove the art so much! The music and sound effects are very nice. Storytelling sets the mood and pulls you in. With a bit more polish and longer game play i would definitely pay for it.

Great graphics! Very stylish. Nice background music and fitting sfx. Teleportation mechanic is cool. I had difficulty understanding what impulse my character will have after teleportation, this made playing less enjoyable for me. But this is a good entry!
Very good graphics. They fit very well and set the mood, animations suit it also well.
For some reason the windows version had no sound, which was very sad.
I didn't get that the spikes were dangerous at first because they blend in so well with the background. I wondered why I had to insert coins until someone behind me pointed out, that I was standing in spikes. Quite the learning curve to do the jumps.
The story is also nice. If it continues beyond one level I didn't get there, there was no end screen, just the dialogue where Bell keeps the money.
5/5 it was great love the music graphics character puzzling movement everything was fitted nice together great job. if you have time check out my game too :v:
As others have said, great visuals! They don't just look good, they look unique, too. I also liked the take on the theme, and how the clone is used to traverse obstacles.
I think the spikes should be a little more clearly defined. I mistook them for part of the background at first, and took me a couple of coins to understand how they worked.
Good work!
Good job! The atmosphere was awesome as well as art. Do more reviews or share the game on the main page, so that more people get to review it (it definitely deserves it).
Music is really beautiful ! I love the characters and the graphics style remind me "GRIS" but a little bit darker. I love the mood and the gameplay ! Amazing job ! :ok_hand: Congratulations !
Lovely game in all respects, even if I did get repeatedly trapped in a spike pit. Thank you for making this.
Wow, what you did is really cool. I really liked the graphics and the idea itself (it seems that no one has ever seen ideas with clones and teleports). The palette very strongly reminded the hollow knight. It even seems that a lot more time was spent on work here than 3 days. Great!
One of the best games that I've played so far out of all the Ludum Dare 44 submissions! Nothing bad to say about the game really, although the jumping physics felt a bit iffy sometimes, especially when trying to jump as soon as you land (looking at glass platforms).
But a great game nonetheless!
How was this game even possible in such a short amount of time? It just blew my mind. It is almost perfect in every aspect. The mood, the sound, the design, the art and the gameplay. I really like the teleportation and coin mechanic and also the whole hidden coins are cool. The only thing that also would have been nice if the coin counter would have been reset to 9 after each level.
You did an Amazing job with this one. Congratz.
Really ambitious and packed game. I had a hard time understanding how to get over some obstacles, and it took me quite a while to figure out that you can double jump (under certain circumstances) when returning to the clone.
I absolutely loved the game, but it was so difficult >.< It looks, sounds, and plays extremely well. I wish I could make it further in the game to see the ending, but I really loved the game. Incredible job!
Such a beautiful game! The art, the music, the story, the gameplay...everything is great and work well together :D However, I don't play video games very often, and I found it quite hard :/ But that doesn't change the fact that you did an amazing job! Thank you for this game :)
Your game looks great, if you make a Linux release I'd be happy to test it.
Very beautiful and a good story. Don't really like the gameplay XD
Wonderful! the arts are gorgeous, the mechanic is not easy to understand, and requires gamer skills somehow, but once managed, it's absolutely powerful.
There is great potential on level design
Perhaps even easier startup, with inline tutorial graphics like "little big planet" to help new comers get the trick jumping a simple large gap ?
whatever, keep this on you have a good startup here!
Very nice game for art, music and gameplay but too hard I think for a "story" game. I want to know the end of the story because the mood is very good with mafia music and hats but i can't cause I'm bad
Thank you everyone, we really appreciate all the kind words and feedback! Glad you enjoyed the game. :)
@nyri0 We'd be really grateful if you did, thank you! We didn't risk posting an untested build (Linux builds are only in beta atm for the engine we're using and we don't use Linux ourselves), no idea if all the engine features we're using would work without additional tweaking, but here's the link: http://bit.do/InsertCoinLinux
This game is amazing. Well designed, beautiful and polished! Congrats.
And just as a heads up version 1.1 in Windows doesn't seem to work. I go stuck in this screen: bug1.JPG
Version 1 worked fine :)
@gil4 Unfortunately the Linux build doesn't work properly, even after installing the missing dependencies. I can launch it and hear sound but the window is very small and all black.
Anyway, don't worry too much about it, if it's only a beta feature for the engine you're using there's not much you can do. Thanks for the effort.
Really like d graphics, and the game in general, the mood and music is also good. But the gameplay suffers from few minor things, 1stly I think the obstacles are fairly hard to see and secondly the movement is too panishing, they need tighter collision boxes, otherwise it feels like you didn't touch the art and your character dies. But overal nice work for the amount of time!
@nyri0, hmm, I see, that's unfortunate. :( Oh well, huge thanks for testing!
GREAT work guys, i love it, it was challenging and beautiful, you get used to the clone mechanic really well and the level design is very efficient, again nice work and thanks for making games like these :D
Awesome graphics nice work on this one!
The atmosphere is so immersive! I loved the music in particular and the colour palette you picked for the game, top marks for audio, graphics and mood here!
As for gameplay, controls work well and the cloning mechanic was a nice addition that added a cool twist to the platforming mechanics. I got the impression that teleporting felt too sudden sometimes, giving you little time to react to the next position (this could be tricky if you're teleporting somewhere that's not visible at the time you try to move)
I found some glitches with the bumpers (when jumping on one of them next to a wall it could get stuck) and the collision boxes for the spikes felt too punishing, but other than this you've put together a really solid entry.
Congrats!
Excellent Graphics, sound and atmosphere! Gameplay was a bit too difficult for me but then again, platform gaming often is :) Well done!
Freakin awesome art!!! Nice music and mood, i would suggest you to enhance the ambience, you could improve the "darkness mood" of yout game just by adding some background sfx like rats, bats, owls pidgeons screams and wings flapping, some wind whispering, dripping water, and reverberation to increase space and emptiness.
Pretty nice game. It feels like a demo for a new Hollow Knight game. I felt a little bad because I did not manage to get the letter over and over but otherwise the game feels very nice. I really like the art!
Good game, nice visuals and atmosphere. I liked the characters design and lore. The gameplay could be improved, and the gamefeel in general. Solid entry, good luck.
Nice game, though very difficult without the 2244 "exploit". The jumping and teleporting was an interesting way of scaling large heights, but sometimes hard to pull off.
Very cool concept, I loved how you actually tied not just currency to life, but also currency to the moral choices you had to make at the end of each level, definitely the first game this LD I've seen to do something like this. Your team seems very skilled to pull something like this off in a jam, there was just so much thought put into the creation of this world, did you kind of already have it built in your mind beforehand? Even the gameplay was solid. Right in the 2nd world you put in some challenging bounce pad positions and you kept me on my toes the whole time. Excellent entry!
@peachtreeoath Thank you! :3 Actually, like many others, we expected (/hoped for) a different theme than just a "subset" of the previous one, so nothing remotely close to this was built in our minds beforehand - we only knew we wanted to do something more narrative-based than usual. Choosing the concept and thinking the details through took the entirety of day 1, haha.
This was one of my favourites from this LD so far! I can tell a lot of effort and passion went into this little project. The atmosphere is dense, the graphics look really nice and different, the music is moody and helps developing this thoughtful, melancholic atmosphere. I also really like that I had some choices at the end of each stage even though they may not have mattered all that much in terms of my progression through the game. The little letter at the end was a nice touch too. Overall it really feels like a complete game more than just a game jam game and that's super impressive.
