LD44 — Your life is currency

Hounds of Blood by shizuka 2019-04-30T14:04:13Z

Very cool visuals! I like how the game has an identity, which is not always easy to do on a jam.

I think the dogs being able to move diagonally makes things a bit harder than they should though, because you can't move diagonally. Maybe if their movements were restricted to 2 dimensions?

I like being able to shoot backwards too, nice idea to implement that option in the gameplay :)

SubMoney by hbocao 2019-05-02T20:50:04Z

First of all, I love the premise here. Playing music on the subway, mixing it with rhythm game, I'd love to see a full game about this, with a storyline and all :)

Took me a bit to figure out the correct timing, but once I did I managed to play some tunes before getting caught!

Also, I wanted to punch those guards, hahaha

The only minor thing I'd say is to not make the counter start while the initial cutscene is still running, as it can make the player anxious to see that time slipping away while you can't do anything about - just a minor point, really.

Very solid work here!

Deadline by Sn4pi 2019-04-30T15:17:53Z

This is a great entry! The premise is funny and well presented, as are the events in the game. Sending people flying around was good for a couple of laughs!

The mouse gameplay was a little too sensitive, sometimes it made it hard to stop moving all over the place. As another person mencionted, maybe controlling with the WASD would give the player more precise controls. Other than that, great entry, funny and original!

Rude Bear Reassembled by alexrose 2019-05-04T15:40:06Z

I like how the whole game world is designed around the trade of body parts, and how the characters just stick said parts to their bodies. The whole game has a Ren & Stimpy feel to it, very 90s!

I also like how removing body parts affects your gameplay, like how when I changed something for an eye and my field of vision got much smaller.

I'd like to see some initial dialogue to set the tone/story, though. The characters have personality, so that'd be a nice complement.

Good job!

Insert Coin by gil4 2019-05-02T20:37:47Z

As others have said, great visuals! They don't just look good, they look unique, too. I also liked the take on the theme, and how the clone is used to traverse obstacles.

I think the spikes should be a little more clearly defined. I mistook them for part of the background at first, and took me a couple of coins to understand how they worked.

Good work!

Moneycorp: your life is our currency by Fred Aberg 2019-05-04T16:35:06Z

The game looks and sounds really good, and I got a few funny phrases on the computer, reminded me of those predictive tweet programs and stuff like that.

Very hard, too!

Nice entry :)

The Price For Blood by GoZz 2019-04-30T20:24:11Z

The game looks and sounds great, I especially like the protesting voices.

The concept of the game is cool too, with nice execution. Congrats!

noPRAVDA by katamary 2019-05-04T16:55:10Z

I love the visuals, both of the characters and of the Technoheart. It's a pretty cool concept that makes you wonder just exactly what it is and what role it plays on this society.

I also like how there are multiple endings, I was curious to see them.

I did find it too easy to hit the other guards on accident, though, I ended up doing that most of the time, so the revolution took me for an ally instead of a clumsy guard :P

Hitting the enemies felt satisfying, but a little too easy to miss. I think a bit of exaggeration to the attacks would have made this a bit easier. The weapons themselves could be a little more techno and strange, too, fitting with the environment of the game.

A solid entry overall, good work!

Zap Signal by christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2019-05-04T21:20:28Z

I really like this premise! It's a rare thing in a LD, to see a game that's voice controlled. The art style is very cute.

Very original entry. Congrats!

99 Days To Earth by Shaolin Dave 2019-05-04T17:02:01Z

I really like the premise here, and the idea of a days based gameplay, having to deal with one day at a time, striking deals, etc. Also, a great interpretation of the theme!

I think a full game with this premise could be really cool, having to deal with the crew, resources, etc. The character art is cute!

As it is now, I think 99 days may be a bit too much, ad it gets a little repetitive, but that's to be expected of a jam game. Overall solid work!

The Branch by Poffle 2019-05-02T16:51:27Z

The kind of game I really don't expect to see in a game jam, and different from everything else I played so far.

The facial animation on the characters was great, as was the humor and the voice acting. It was like a cross of Monty Python with Stanley's Parable.

Also, REALLY good take on the theme, probably the best I've seen so far. Phenomenal work, guys!

Prostage by Caffeinated Psychics 2019-05-04T15:53:48Z

This is a funny idea - I love how the music sets the tone!

I think the police projectiles could be a tad slower, it's prettyhard to see them coming and react accordingly. I also thought the hostages would die if they were shot, but you just die at once. I suppose these officers are real good shots? :)

Nice theme interpretation!

Something Of Legend by blaster391 2019-05-02T02:49:43Z

Such a well-rounded entry! I love the premise of a kaiju-like monster living through the ages, and the rhtythm-based gameplay is fun and well-executed for a jam. I liked the creature design, the little bits of humor, and everything looks great.

It took me a little bit to fully understand how the battle system works, but that's to be expected in a jam. Really nice work, congrats!

Demonidle by carlosvVk 2019-05-02T15:11:10Z

This is a pretty cool twist on the clicker formula. Having a goal to strive for, instead of just increasing your numbers, is pretty cool!

I like the visuals too. I just wish Voran would move his mouth when you click, like NOM NOM NOM y'know, hahahaha

Good job!

Bob the Zombie by Sanguis 2019-05-02T16:29:04Z

I like how the game looks so cute. The screams were a bit too loud, but that also made them funnier, so I'm kind of torn on that one :P

With It Or On It by SaRNEh 2019-05-02T11:47:34Z

Rare to see a game made on Godot!

You guys nailed the aesthetics. The shades of red evoking blood and the impending end, which is also alluded to by the setting sun... very nice!

Survive the Heist by Ashtrail 2019-05-02T23:03:04Z

Great art and atmosphere in this game, nice dialogue too! The timer really puts pressure on you, making you consider leaving just by yourself.

One thing I'd change is to make the dialogue options be selectable via keyboard, because you never use the mouse in the other parts of the game - just a minor feedback. Good job!

Teller Me More by hollowspecter 2019-05-04T21:42:51Z

God, I loved this game. I love the take on the theme: it's the second bank based game I've seen so far, but it's totally different from the other one.

I really like the sound effects of the characters speaking, and how their chatter distracts you from the job at hand. I lost my s*it when I saw clippy on the $100 bill!

I think it would be cool if the costumers actually took their money with them. At least in my case it didn't happen, and after a while the machine stopped spitting bills.

Overall a really solid, funny, and original game. I'd love to see a polished up, post jam version of this. Congratulations!

Sinking Town by detectiveLosos 2019-05-02T03:07:42Z

I absolutely love how this game looks. I also really like how you can interact with things in different ways by choosing your body parts, makes total sense, you being a robot and all — a nice twist on the classic adventure game convention.

I also like how the game encourages you to walk around and explore and talk to the other robots to figure out what's going on and what needs doing.

I think a nice addition would be a color change to the dialogue boxes, so you can easily tell who's speaking :)

Very nice work, very polished and well-made for such a short span of time. Congrats!

Nomad by mediyaz 2019-05-02T16:17:19Z

Hey, what a nice entry this is!

I really liked the momentum you can get into when going at fast speeds, and there was this really nice moment where I escaped the gravitational pull, but then I stopped for some reason and got pulled back in and was like "ooooh, THAT's how it works". Very nice!

I especially liked the visuals for the upgrade station! Very polished.

I would've liked to see some more blasting sounds from the ship. The song is nice and gets you pumped to go fast, so maybe some more powerful sound to the thrusters would've been nice, but that's a minor detail. Nice work!

Dusty by jvolonte 2019-05-02T11:41:40Z

Very well done, I loved the transition from skeleton to little naked dude!

Space Robots: Fight for Freedom by Fenderbate 2019-05-02T16:00:57Z

Really liked this. The visuals are spot on, very pleasant to the eye. I like how the game tasks you with balancing time and resources, and how it gives you an objective to strive for. Super well done!

Hell's Pinball by Valden 2019-05-02T16:57:27Z

Love a good pinball, and this certainly fits the bill! It wasn't clear to me how the game relates to the theme, but awesome work nonetheless!

D E A T H S G R A S P by Auzrial 2019-04-30T15:00:21Z

This is a great entry! I loved the graphics and the presentation. The way Death is depicted reminded me a bit of Dark Souls Nito, a design I really like :) I really liked the small things, like how the *knock knock* sfx comes from the door. The story is nice too, and I liked a few details like the ending you get when you keep killing people. Great work!

Sheep It by anstabo 2019-04-30T20:12:46Z

This is so cute, I love the art and the animations!

I chuckled when I got the robot, it is cute and it would throw the sheep in the road sometimes, hahaha

Oh my blood! by hechi 2019-04-30T21:21:07Z

Very nice visuals! I liked the extra care put into the opening scene, which sometimes cannot be done on game jams.

I also really liked the dialogue sound, and how each characters has a different font. I think Fred's font could be a bit clearer though, it was juuuust a bit hard on the eyes.

Also, just to see what happens, I jumped on top of the stall and watched as the monsters pushed Fred around. Made me chuckle :P

Great job!

Noobmancer by IanLux 2019-04-30T14:48:40Z

I'm blown away by how good this game looks!

Loved the clone gameplay and the sound design. The music is upbeat and fun, and the character voice is very funny. The "RIP" effect when you defeat enemies was the kind of thing I love and very rarely see in games, hahaha!

The only thing that stuck out to me was the the level, being diagonally, made it a bit harder to play with a keyboard, but that's a minor issue when everything else is so polished. Great job!

PunCha-Ching Bag by Ryan Brenner 2019-05-04T16:42:29Z

I really liek the punching mechanic! It makes this game stand out from the other arena shooters out there. The cute visuals help with this, too.

I also like how some enemies will pop up and go for the coins, instead of attacking you.

Simple game, but lots of interesting concepts here. The enemies can gang up on you very easily, however.

Guddum - The pact of beer by gabjet 2019-04-30T20:53:20Z

I like the funny premise here, as well as the idea of throwing the beer. Game over screen was nice too!

It would be cool if you could call the beer back to you, sort of liek Thor's hammer, as the enemies are very fast!

Victor Sold His Soul by Fear Games 2019-04-30T21:09:10Z

This is impressive for a first jam! I really, really like the visuals, as I love games that mix 2D and 3D like Paper Mario. Als the characters look very cute, and there's a nice presentation at the start. Well done!

Trash Planet Explorer by Bauke Regnerus 2019-05-04T16:00:49Z

This is a pretty ambitious project! Metroidvania, minimap, you have a shiel... that's all very impressive. I also like the visuals, they're very cute.

Very nice entry for a first LD. Congratulations!

Burgers To Die For by Cievers 2019-04-30T20:28:58Z

Man, this is a hard game! You really have to be agile and pay attention to the orders while not letting the burgers burn (considering these cost a soul, that's a REAL shame!)

I think maybe the game could use a bit more time to cook the burgers, but maybe that's just me. Verynice visuals, and the concept is funny :)

The Bloody Merchant by Lombax 2019-04-30T20:45:30Z

This is a nice first entry. The animations are very nice and the overall looks are good!

I think the buttons on the little dudes could be a bigger, took me a while to understand how to close or deny deals. A big button could make the gameplay self explanatory in this way.

With added music and some sound effects, it could go for either a creepy or a fun creepy (as in Nightmare Before Christmas) vibe. Nice work!

Live battle by CaOrJavier 2019-05-02T11:55:50Z

Very good visuals, and I like the character design. I think she could walk a little faster sideways, as she moves at a pretty speed when going forward and backwards. Good job!
