The intro is very lengthy. Could use an option to skip or speed up the text (by holding space). Gameplay feels nice, charming graphics. Very nice :thumbsup:

This is great! Loved the graphics & quirky dialog. Gameplay is good - only gripe is that the dialog is unskippable even on subsequent playthroughs. I could skip the initial meeting, but not the dialog about buying more spells.
Pretty awesome game! I love it! The artwork is really amazing (I really like that kind)! :smiley:
Other than the intro being long this is a very solid entry. Everything went together really well, good work!
I like the humor here
@gorrion @garys @danielk @furtive-pygmy Thank you so much for your feedback and for playing my game :smile:
Very nice visuals! I liked the extra care put into the opening scene, which sometimes cannot be done on game jams.
I also really liked the dialogue sound, and how each characters has a different font. I think Fred's font could be a bit clearer though, it was juuuust a bit hard on the eyes.
Also, just to see what happens, I jumped on top of the stall and watched as the monsters pushed Fred around. Made me chuckle :P
Great job!
A great take on the theme! I love the dialogue and art style, as well as the simple yet challenging mechanics. My only few complaints are that you could still shoot while the dialogue was playing, and the dialogue was a bit slow. It'd be nice if there was a button to skip to the end of what the person was currently saying, rather than skipping the whole dialogue (and that option was only somtimes there). But overall very fun and polished game with a nice mindset for the theme!
@copper-aardvark-games
Thanks for your feedback :smile:. The button to accelerate the dialogue was supposed but I didn't have time to implement it, in the next build I' ll include it.
@TiagoRrech
Thanks for your words. I just played your game and I was impressed :smiley:
This was super fun and waay more challenging than I expected! My biggest criticism is the controls, pressing ctrl to fire a spell was a bit difficult to do while also moving around, maybe clicking or pressing a button on the right side of the keyboard would've felt more natural. Regardless, overall excellent job!
Very good. I really enjoyed it. Maybe an ability to cast spells from the platform down. Nothing else is missing. Good job!
Oh my, this was great! I love the art, the humor... everything! Well done! All I can say is that I want more of this! P.S. I wanted to send a few icey bolts on Fred the Vampire's way at the end, haha!
Fantastic art style! I loved the animations of character and spells, really well done.
An amazingly fun game! I liked the mechanic to have to switch spell types, reminds me of the new God of War with the weapons, and i especially loved the art style, it looks really good!
Well done!
Cute artstyle (love the parallax scrolling on the background) and funny dialog
That was fun !
Cool game! We had the same rough concept in our brainstorming session :) I really like how you implemented the idea, especially with the humour and the characters. Good stuff! The art is very polished and the animations are cute. I also liked the diffrent fonts for the characters and the talking sounds. Very professional!
The fighting system was a bit bland und had little variations but thats something I can accept. In the end, you worked alone on that project. Really really nice work!
I liked a lot the humor and the "buy with blood" mechanics, one of the best uses yet.
I loved playing this game! the screen shaking, and feeling when you "shoot" is really good. The vampire idea is perfect with the theme, and the texts are damn funny.
Nice little game, and I like the graphs. Well done !
Pretty nice and polished entry! Very low resolution too, would've benefited from pixel perfection, the visual effects don't blend bad though, I liked the little storyline you put in the game, not many jam games put effort into giving the game soem writting, very cool and polished entry!
I enjoyed this entry. Nice consistent pixel art style, nice mechanic with the vampire and engaging dialogue. movement felt right and ambiance matched the mood the game. I used the left click mouse to cast spell and this worked nicely for me.
Very solid entry, cute little game. I love the graphics, I am a fan of the retro style and you really did a great pixel art job. Combined with the particle effects that gives a really nice mix between graphics from my youth and what graphics cards can do these days :-)
One thing, at the end when we get to know the path back to the village, I pressed to buy "nothing", then a new monster appeared, the screen faded to black and I was back at the main menu. Was there another game starting? That seemed strange, like I was missing out on something?
