The art and music for this project are lovely, but the actual gameplay section is sort of half baked.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD32 → Dueling Time, Sir!

The art and music for this project are lovely, but the actual gameplay section is sort of half baked.
Pros:
Enjoyable theme/art/music, well-polished with an array of characters and customizations. Funny dialogue.
Cons:
Jam theme (unconventional weapon) not all that central to the game. >50mb .zip download was a bit excessive for a 2D turn-based game.
Graphics and music is great. I find the gameplay okay.
Lovely game! I played with my roommates and we vanquished each other. I love the idea, the graphics, the audio, the jokes, and pretty much everything XD.
I think the fight is a bit slow though, so the players don't necesserily want to play all rounds =').
The artist here. Thanks for the comments guys! Unfortunately the design of game forced us to backloaded a bunch of the actual gameplay work and we sort of ran out of time for balancing and stuff, but we had a great time making it. Hope you guys had some fun with is at least!
Thanks for the feedback so far everyone! I apologize for the build sizes, I had no time to optimize them before the deadline. I've now reduced the download zip size from 50MBs to 18MBs or so!
One of the most artistic games i ve played this far.
Pro designing and cool sound!Really good job!
Good art and music. Would be better with more animation.
Would have liked a litle more sounds, but a very interesting concept and game. Exquisite work, chaps!
It would have been nice with some sound effects and some animations. Otherwise you did a fantastic job on the art.
Great game! I loved the little things each player said and the fact that you could choose your mustache. I would have liked, however, specific sounds for each weapon when it was used (though the background music was great), as well as more of an introduction to the strategy of when to do what, because I didn't quite get what to do for a while.
I really enjoyed my time with this. The writing, visuals are audio are first-rate and the gameplay has heaps of potential too. The only thing which let it down a little was the lack of feedback, both visual and audio, during the fights. I'm sure that would have been next on the list had you a little more time.
Anyway, a very funny and clever story wrapped around a polished game. Great work!
The art work was really cool and I like how you can pick everything (weapons, moustaches and person) also the music fits perfectly with the game :)
Hah! I loved the music and the graphics had a little trouble playing it by myself (I kept winning...). Loved the theme and the music. Please develop this further so it is more polished. All and all spiffing game...
Awesome graphics and style =D
I didn't got what does the Taunt option.
The idea and humore are great.
Really cool game! Loving the art and sound design! The turn-based mechanics are nice - it had more options and scenarios than I would have guessed! Sadly, I didn't have a friend to play, but from what I could experience, the game play feels nicely balanced. Although I can't quite tell if ducking is helpful because the animations seem ordered.
Anyway, the dialog is funny and great, and the idea is funny - I love the options for building your player, and choosing options that will help you with your strategy. :D
Great job, keep up the great work everyone :D
You should mention that it's multiplayer in the description.
The art and music are great, but I didn't find the gameplay interesting. There isn't much visual/audio feedback for shooting, being hit, moving, choosing a menu option, etc.
I don't know how the weapons differ.
Really good job on the presentation. The graphics and audio are top-notch... and the writing is delightful!
It might be a sign of how used to strange things I am that I didn't even bat an eye to the weird weapon choices. I didn't figure out how the game related to the theme until the moment I started writing this comment.
