This felt like a really well polished game. Great job guys! The art, audio, and game design were all really well integrated.

Fun little game!

happy 2018-08-14 00:39

The game is pretty tense but I think it suffers from balancing issues like the holes appearing so often at times that it's impossible to patch all of them in time partially because of how hard it is to control underwater, or maybe I am doing something wrong I can't really tell

foxserranu 2018-08-14 00:41

That's a really polished game for a 3 days game jam. Loves the art and the sound effects. Congratulations for the good work <3

northerndevguy 2018-08-14 00:41

Awesome game, love the art for this

sciman101 2018-08-14 01:01

Really well polished! I liked the idea, and the graphics and sounds effects were very fitting. Also, not mentioned a lot, but the itch.io page itself was really nice. That said, some of the leaks appeared way too fast for how slowly the player moves. Made it feel kind of impossible near the end. Still, good job!

craigduth 2018-08-14 01:17

I have to agree with everyone else, Audio and Graphics really suited each other! Controls were clear, but I did feel as though sometimes it was a bit easy, contrary to everyone else

jerripo 2018-08-14 01:32

I played it 3-4 times and it was fun the whole time. I don't know if it got patched or something, because I did not have trouble with holes appearing too frequently at all. The graphics are beautiful, and really set the mood. The controls were smooth and it was easy to figure out how to play. A great game!

michael-wingfield 2018-08-14 03:37

This game has a really cute style. Well done!

fractalsunrise 2018-08-14 03:54

I loved the polished graphics and the audio (especially the music). The main character was also done really well and was full of charm. It would be interesting to balance the holes better to give the player more choice about how much to patch them before moving on (as it is, they patch faster towards the end so I would always stay just a little bit longer to get it all the way done). It took me a few minutes to notice the depth indicator at the top right, but I'm glad I saw it. Even though it was not as fun as perhaps it could be with a little more player choice and a bit less randomness, it was really nice to be in the world of the game; it felt really alive. Also, I laughed out loud when I saw the lose screen; it was great! Nice job!

inferture 2018-08-14 04:12

A bit short, but there was some cute design and nice sounds effects. Seems polished too ! Keep up the good work ^^

dave-troyer 2018-08-14 04:25

There is a nice level of polish to your game! I had fun playing it but it did seem a bit simple and wasn't able to hold my attention for too long. The tension as the patches burst was nice, but felt it could've been more intense with the music and maybe speeding up the game a bit.

That being said, great job!

alien 2018-08-14 06:36

The game is well built, The graphics and Sounds tracks are awesome. Its a very fun game to play. I really enjoyed it.

sebbernery 2018-08-14 08:26

The artistic direction is very good ! The mood created with the graphics and the music is great. The game explain itself with the dialog boxes and the feedbacks to the player (thanks to the sounds). I think there is a small problem on the difficulty curve. As I played, I feel that the game is very hard if you don't activate the lever from the beginning, and too easy if you do.

Congratulations !

Note: I didn't succeed to play on Firefox 61 (on Linux), it says I don't support WebGL (which is very strange). But It worked on Chromium so it's fine.

jackou 2018-08-14 12:33

Great job on this entry! I really like the art and sounds. The gameplay is fun, yet I had really different level generations where once I figured everything out it suddenly becam super easy, and then the next game holes where spawning so fast I couldn't get to patch them all. I had hoped for another submarine to fix after I got the first one done, but I like that the new game option presents you somewhat of a different challenge each time.

Look and presentation of the overall game is definitely one of the best I have seen so far! Great job.

frozenfire92 2018-08-14 14:16

Wow, this was awesome! The graphics and sound fit the mood/theme perfectly. Good work

mammabouter 2018-08-14 17:33

Lovely little game. I especially like how everything ties together. Very good take on the theme. Well done.

jcwelgemoed 2018-08-14 17:40

Nice game and a well executing take on the theme. I liked the small details like how you floated upwards in the water trying to fix the leaks - nice touch

blurred-lines 2018-08-14 18:08

Though there are some minor bugs, this is well built and perfect for the theme. So much challenging and good observation is needed to fix the holes quickly. I like it.

wowa 2018-08-14 19:11

I liked the mood pretty much and to patch the submarine together :D

webthingee 2018-08-14 22:32

@jcwelgemoed THANK YOU! I reversed and altered the gravity in water because I thought it was fun. Thanks for noticing that touch!! :)

kyona-luya 2018-08-14 22:36

I really liked your game. It was fun to play and a really cool idea. I did have trouble telling which walls I could walk in front of and where the doors were, but once I got used to the layout it was ok.

omnipotentindie 2018-08-14 22:55

Well made, looks good, cant tell how well im doing or how far ive gone

calixjumio 2018-08-15 00:14

Hehehe i really liked it!, glad I could send her home safely. Good job!

marsepstein 2018-08-15 15:14

@omnipotentindie Thank you for the feedback! We created a little depth meter in the top right corner of the game, unfortunately, it looks like itch.io can cover this feedback up, depending on how far down you have scrolled. If I had a time machie, I'd move it to the left corner!

nam-nguyen 2018-08-16 01:30

Whowww very polished, very complete, I feel like Im playing an actual game from some publisher :O. I do think I have seen this kind of idea somewhere but couldnt recall exactly, but I think its the implementation of yours that matters - everything fits together too well that I dont think anyone can find anything to add to that :O. Great great work, I thoroughly enjoyed the game. It always plays very well on the web too, while mine experiences some performance issue on the web build T_T

wiredoverload 2018-08-16 02:21

The game looks great and has a consistent theme/style in both the art and music. I do wish the more interesting mechanics that show up in the end like the fact patches don't stay forever were shown off more in the beginning or middle though.

gizmolo 2018-08-16 02:34

I absolutely adore this little game! It reminds me of Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, but underwater! The concept is nice and has me wanting more. There's so many directions you could go with a game like this and this is a good start. I hope ya'll will release a version 2.0!

hauo 2018-08-16 20:36

A lovely tiny arcade like game! Was great fun to play, even managed to win :)

stegobubbles 2018-08-17 10:06

Very interesting idea. We with the team also thought about the game about the submarine. This game reveals the theme "Running out of space"!!!)))

webthingee 2018-08-17 13:43

coal-creek-game-devs 2018-08-18 02:40

A very finish feeling game. Lots of fun.

arbosis 2018-08-19 00:05

Awesome concept and execution, it was a very original take on the theme.

glaciereclipse 2018-08-19 17:16

Beautiful art and fun gameplay. I really enjoyed the calm feeling before the leaks go wild :) Great game!

drauthius 2018-08-19 18:20

I'm not sure what's going on. I got maybe two leaks before the submarine reached the surface, which meant that I didn't really get to experience the rising water level. The success screen "Depth 0" is a bit confusing. It would have been nice to see the background scroll downwards when the lever was being used. I really liked the art and the sounds.

webthingee 2018-08-20 12:53

@drauthius thanks for the play and feedback. The leaks are random, so each playthrough is very different. Depth 0 refers to the sub being back at water level. Totally agree, v2 will have some better fish animation and a visual up/down indication for the sub. Just ran out of time and had to prioritize. We worked right up until submission time. Headed over to play your game next. :) thx!

chrissx2 2018-08-20 19:00

Space works on the lever, but does nothing on the holes. Am I missing something?(playing the HTML version) Audio and gfx are lovely!

webthingee 2018-08-20 23:45

@chrissx2 , if your blowtroch is over a whole, it will add a patch. However, I have had all kinds of bugs w/ WebGL around the LD, so it is possible there's a problem playing in your browser. I have found FireFox to be the most consistently working browser so far.

jon-nova 2018-08-21 02:09

Great Game !!! I was a bit confused about how to earn points, but the game is amazing !!!

toboggan 2018-08-23 12:11

Really nice work! Super polished. The art and music are really strong. These types of games are too stressful for me, but still, well done. :)

masterkrepta 2018-08-25 16:18

Wow I am impressed. the graphics and sound work so well together. I noticed if you stand directly over the hole it will not patch, you have to position your torch on it. which makes sense of course but for an arcade game feels more precise then it needs to. (at least thats the Web GL version)

kutase 2018-08-28 20:43

Nice art and game concept!

dovakla 2018-08-28 22:40

This is a fun little game! The graphics are really cute and it's a clever take on the theme. My one complaint is that the RNG doesn't seem very balanced. I played it several times and never really got close to losing. Great job!

webthingee 2018-08-29 00:20

@dovakla , agree, if only I had 73 hours :). I wanted the game mechanics to be as string as possible, and struggled to get enough playthroughs. Planning to reach out to some buddies next Dare and get some assistance on things like that next time.

occultone 2018-08-29 04:33

Absolutely an excellent game, highly polished on all fronts. I have very little constructive criticism honestly because it's just all around very good. Grats guys, well done!

ithildin 2018-08-31 20:23

I'm loving it as much as it's frustrating me

You've made a super solid entry in all areas (except for the poor submarine, constantly breaking and all that ). Graphics are nice, the colour palette gives me a pleasant feeling even as I'm running up and down to weld all those cracks. Same with the music, it is calming.

I've lost a couple of times so far, so let's see if third time's charm.

Great job!

2018-09-03 16:33

Neat little game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/CCzYoSZIQ24

webthingee 2018-09-06 23:48

@jupiter-hadley Thanks!

marsepstein 2018-09-07 19:55

@jupiter-hadley Thank you for playing and sharing! Fun to watch someone checking it out for the first time :)
