I got a score of 5020. Such a cute fun game! Love the "yay!" when you click on the cupcakes.

this game is so damn SWEET! I love the music and art , they look so polished and the game play felt great as well. The game doesn't seem to be working on safari though.
Really enjoyed the graphics and audio. It set up a super cute mood that made me want to eat cupcakes. Yum. I also liked that you could remap input controls and that the difficulty was challenging - my best score was only 1480. Felt sorry for the dead poorly-frosted cupcake at the end. I blame my corporate overlords for forcing me to frost too fast. Controls were simple once I read the instructions above - would have been nice to include that in-game too. The game also felt quite short - like something to casually pick up for a couple of minutes at most. You could say the game left me ... hungry for more ;)
@skipyC @RickSquanchez Thanks for your lovely feedbacks !
@lars-dk Thanks for your constructive feedback ! I totally agree on in-game tutorial but you won't be surprised if I say that we ran out of time :P As per the last point, my mate is more of a casual gamer than me, so it is not really easy to balance. Also, we didn't really have the time to polish the gameplay and there are plenty of features that could be added to make the game less repetitive
Lovely Art and a solid gameplay fitting the theme. It looks well polished. And the art and animation is so damn fucking cute... and now I want to eat a Muffin :3
WoW! Amazing art and great music too, loved the overall look and feel. I guess this game can help improve ones instincts for the number key pad xD hahaha! Oh and ofc, the audio! Lovely <3 But overall small and simple game, I had fun playing. All the best :) Pls feel free to play and rate my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/split
Hehe, very cute and great music and sound! Had to mess up on purpse to get something more difficult to happen though.
3480 my score when I panicked and couldn't cupcake no more. Great Graphics and music, so sweet, really fit the game. The game fits the theme perfectly and it all works as it should, so very solid. As a way to improve it I'd make it so that when you miss the number on complex cupcakes, they reset, that way you can avoid people banging the keyboard like I admit, I did haha :D Great Game!! :)
Very polished and a great mood. How can you not smile when the happy cupcake shouts "yea" when you complete it? I really appreciated the small details like the option to remap the controls and the buzz/screen shake when you don't complete the cupcakes. I'm not sure if I would have known exactly how to play if I didn't read your description so a tutorial or in-game instructions would be helpful. Also, I was briefly thrown off by how to handle two numbers. When I first saw them, I thought I needed to press them simultaneously. Of course, it was easy to figure out that I had to press them in sequence. Great job!
Oh boy, tryhard is real ! Really nice submission
Loved it. The cupcakes are cute and the game makes you smile. It took a minute to understand the controls, but once you get going it's pretty fun. I could see myself coming back for more.
I also feel this fit the theme very well. Later in the game the cupcakes get so overwhelming I threw up my hands before actually losing the game.
It's a very polished game. It's cute, the concept is funny and i enjoyed to play it ! :)
1720 is my best, perfectly fit the theme, the more you have the harder it is :) Graphics are pretty neat, music is cool, well done. Now I want to eat some cupcakes.
Oh god. I wanted to see what happened if i mashed buttons, but i have enraged the cupcakes.
Really good game.
Very pretty, and flows well (difficulty ramps up). I wish that multiple keys could be pressed at the same time; I tried remapping to WASD, and still couldn't multi-press (so I don't think it's just my keyboard). Even the game over screen was adorable!
@fabian-pohl @steven-pinto @drauthius @xarras @fussenkuh @grahamliphts @hdtv @camcam-s5 @sundaefactory @potti Thanks you all for your kind words, very pleased to hear you liked it !
@sorlok Thanks a lot for your feedback. About the multi-press, that is a design decision to make it even harder. You actually have to hit the combo in right order (from left to right)
That was nice but it gets very complicated pretty fast :) Some gameplay evolution other than multiple keys would have been nice.
@ncanasse Thanks for the review ! The gameplay has been tweaked for the ludum dare but it will surely evolve, by the time we had (Both of us couldn't dedicate our full time on the ludum dare), we could not add more features.
As more mechanics will be added/improved, we'll make each run longer in time. You pointed out my only regret for this ludum, not having enough time to add more interesting mechanics !
I definetely can see this game being a hit on android and Iphone, the art is so cute, the music is very well done and gives the perfect mood for the game, it is very polished, and the game is not that easy which I like, great job !
@svr-audio Thanks ! We're actually considering the idea of pursuing the game further with more mechanics. We already had an idea on how to port this keyboard constraint onto mobile games. And the more feedbacks like your we receive, the more we want to do something with that game !
Looks like we had some similar theme ideas!
I really liked it though. Its simple but fun, nice cute artwork, fun little cutesy soundtrack, it has it all. I think the only thing missing is an explanation for the multi-number cupcakes. I thought you had to press all the keys at the same time but then realized I just had to hit them in order.
@jordan-neff I'll try to check yours once I can :P Thanks for your feedback, you're absolutely right about that but we needed to concede some thing and in-game tutorial was part of it, I'm not sure whether I should regret it because it let me polish the game a bit more ^^ But I will remember for the next time that it is really important for the players to understand the game easily. I could have done a quickwin there and there would be a tutorial in the final release for sure !
What a pretty game!! Art & mechanics are very polished for a jam. Also the audio fits perfectly. Congratulations
Audio is outstanding! Really complements the mood.
Score: 6750. Out of a sudden, the Cup-o-matic became insane, my fingers somehow moved from their tactical position in the keyboard and I was doomed quickly afterwards :(
This game shows some serious teamwork. The graphics and the audio are amazingly polished, and the gameplay feels solid. The key remapping is also well polished!
Difficulty seems good to me. I don't know if at some point it may become impossible to play (a problem that games of jams usually have because of the little time for making long tests), but it was good until my score. I didn't notice that pushing the wrong key actually had some punishment! I was about to comment that before I saw @potti's comment.
As a suggestion: put a "How to play" button that shows the initial screen (the one with the instructions) again. It's a really simple solution for your lack of tutorial, as I think the instructions are clear. The thing is that the current order (instructions, start screen, gameplay) is weird. You may also show the instructions after the player clicks "Play" (start screen, instructions, gameplay).
Congratulations on this great entry!
My fingers hurts… This is great. I really enjoyed playing your game. Good job and congratulation.
I'm not great at it, only got 3080, but it was really enjoyable. I love the frosting animation, it's a nice touch. The game over screen is really cute, too. Nice job!
So simple a so addictive. :) Very nice art, sounds, and totally matching the theme. One of the most solid entries I have seen so far. Perhaps I would have increased the difficulty giving a penalty when the player types the wrong number/combination. But that's just another option. Great work.
@juancarlosgdm @royoyo @eptwalabha @elemental-zeal-game-studios Thanks a lot for your feedback, love it !
@racso Thanks for beeing so constructive ! Totally agree, it should be more obvious that another muffin pop when you mess up. And yeah, it would become unplayable after around 10 - 15 minutes (depending on your skills - I've made some algebra to determine the difficulty over time). However, it's almost impossible to reach that threshold with no mistakes so you're most likely to lose by yourself earlier :p
@limeniusteam Thanks for your review ! You might have not notice it, but whenever you type the wrong number, another muffin pop and trust, that's enough of a penalty and that's why you would loose in fact :)
Nice game. I would've aced it if it accepted input from the numpad...
This game is so damn cute! Love the visuals and the sound is a bit cutey but slightly too repetitive for me. Overall great effort.
Adorable graphics! Really liked the sounds and music! I felt the difficulty could have ramped a little faster at the beginning, but the addition of key combos was nice.
