for a game with such a dark theme I found myself laughing a whole lot. Wait do I have dark humor....

The art and animations, lighting, etc are absolutely top-notch. Great work!
I like this game a lot! Feels like a mix between Darkest Dungeon and Undertale is how I'd describe it. That villain is so cool xD Great job on this one!
AMAZING AMBIENCE! Definitely my favourite jam submission, great job. The graphics, the audio, and the writing is perfect.
Amazing mood! Nice stuff as always Ben! Good work guise!
My god, it's sooo good... I'm completely sold on the art part, it's nothing short of gorgeous. And gameplay is so nice and fluid, too! Simply beautiful.
This game is for sure one of the best in the LD44. Very well polished, the art is just amazing. It was a little bit confusing in the beggining 'till I get what goes up and down when I sacrifice someone. But overall amazing job. Great Game thx for sharing
What an awesome atmosphere! Loved the characters, the music and sounds simply sell it to me, very well done!
This looks fantastic! We sort of had similar ideas though mines centred around decisions of your own life rather than other peoples. I did find 2 bugs though; You can gain more resources than there are visuals so I ended up with like 30 heart resource and when I started to lose it the visual didn't change until I was below the shown number. You could gain and lose a resource from the same person, I was seeing the up and down arrow for multiple sacrifices
@gear-steak You went and found the bugs I was going to fix this evening! But yes, thank you :) It'll be fixed soon.
Great game, wonderful interpretation of the artstyle and the humor XD only made it to week 6 though XD
I like so many things, but I felt my decisions were not so important. Maybe to create real consequences for bad choices may be a solution.
Thank you everyone! I have fixed two small bugs + a spelling error and got the HTML5 port complete enjoy~
What an awesome little game! I really love the mood you have in that game. The smiley is funny, but creepy at the same time - a really good mix!
great, funny and sarcastic
Nailed the atmosphere and it's dripping with juicy polish and audio. I agree it has a great darkest dungeon meets undertale feel. Amazing!
Great atmosphere, really like it.
Great atmosphere, really like how you fool us at the begin :) and it is really pretty
I loved the graphics, and how much you polished the game ! Great entry :ok_hand:
this is great. super juicy, and i like this concept of simple choices that have big consequences. and it's nice that you get such a cute and round friend to hang out with! however, it got a bit repetetive after a while, i found myself just sacrificing people left and right because i just wanted to see what'd happen at the end? i got 13 weeks in at least :)
Great game! Really liked the art, atmosphere, and the dialogue. I couldn't really understand exactly how/why the different values increased/decreased though.
Great atmosphere.
Great game! Creepy art and audio, fun gameplay but maybe just a bit too easy. Struggling to lose so I can see the ending.
That audio and that atmosphere, amazing. The game has you in with the first second, the smily character is very well written (combined with the perfect matching sounds), and all the art is superdetailed. Little by little, I began to question if I really know what my decisions costed. At round 7 I started to play randomly (a lot of villagers per week, except on week 9, where only 3 decisions), until I finally died. Apart from the lack of weight on the decision, this game is one of the bests of this LD. Keep with the amazing work!
Love it. Great mood, funny dialogue, pretty pixels.
Top notch on everything!! <3
I see what you did here and I love it! Awesome art and juicy gameplay as well! very polished
What a solid mix of art and audio. The writing was great too. I never really figured out what factors impact whether a certain stat goes up or down, but it was enjoyable regardless. Really great work!
Really well made game, great job!
Awesome, love the animation!
That was intense lol
The mood is exceptional. The visuals captivating. You've done a really solid job here.
I really liked the mood and simplicity of the style in this game. The Demon had a lot of character combined with the overlall spookieness. I didnt really get though how my choices affected the stats. Overall amazing look and feel!
Wow you really nailed the atmosphere. Sounds just fit perfectly. And arts are on point. Good job!
The atmosphere was excellent. Great job on the audio and visuals. I couldn't figure out how my choices affected anything though, so I didn't feel like trying again with a different strategy after I lost.
Wow guys, amazing creation! The only thing I would ask for is some different monster lines for the late game. By this point, every week it just talks about the birds, and how amazing it is. Maybe something new each week to keep it fresh?
Very atmospheric and foreboding! I like the mechanics too - Only small criticism, I wasn't sure exactly what the icons at the top pertained to - I knew there was health and food and faith and stuff but I forgot which one meant which - Maybe like a hoverstate on the icons that come up with the names of them?
Lovely stuff - looking forward to your next LD entry!
Graphics and sound are great, gives the game a good atmosphere. Only thing is I found it difficult to understand exactly how my choices affected the stats - particularly as there were so many other random things happening that seemed to also affect them.
loved the mood, graphics and audio
I like the gloomy atmosphere of the game it puts a little uncomfortable.
I loved the atmosphere. The big smile reminded me of Flowey. I just found it a bit strange that I sacrifice one person, and then they descend, the other one walks away, and then it says that the other one died. Did both people die or only the person I didn't sacrifice?
Anyhoo (it's quite a yee-haw word, ain't it?) the graphics and audio were great. I just wish there was more story.
Incredible game. Nailed atmosphere, truly awesome sound effects. Juice is good. Felt the Reigns inspiration with the little tweak "you see the changes only after all decisions took" which is not bad.
Oh and **terrific** character design on this smiley god. (The twist with his true face made my a real effect)
Looks great but lacks gameplay. I liked that to decide you had to hold down the button instead of just pressing but after a while it seemed like it didn't matter who I killed. There was no significant change for me as a player or for the village. The bars just kept going up and up. I very much like the concept and the atmosphere but it needs some more content to engage the player more.
Fantastic amount of polish on this Reigns-crossed-with-Darkest-Dungeon like game. I found the bluntness of the writing morbidly funny. Great job!
Amazing entry with awesome graphics!
The main menu animation is juicy and well polyshed, i can visualy notice the flames shinning in the surface of the fonts and the sfx also makes me notice the presence of the blood dripping but the fire crackling got way too blended with the sound of blood dripping and i can't even say if i'm hearing blood dripping or flames crackling. I think that's because of the frequency of the flames animation asking for a more frequent and loud sfx.
The ambience could bring more tension and solitude to the user and i didn't feel the rain outside, you could add some rain hitting the roof, the window and the left and right walls of the shack, however, muffled to feel that you are within a wooden place, and once the left villager enters, the sound on the left ear could breafly stop being muffled to feel the door being opened and then closed and once the villagger on the villager on the right enters, you could do the same, followed by a door lock being oppened/closed and a door squeak while opening and slam when closing. You could increase the drama by also adding to the rain hitting the surfaces, some random thunders and lightnings sfx.
The footsteps are good and add presence to the characters, but i couldn't barely distinguish from which side they came and from which character they came from, you could try to randomize the speed of every character animation and then sync their animations to the footsteps sfx, also by interpolating the volume and stereo pan as they get closer to the center (as far as the left character is from the center, the lower is the volume and more the sfx goes into the left ear), making the user feel them comming close and walking into some virtual and volumetric space, add some footsteps clip variations and oscilating the pitch and volume would make you notice the difference between each charaacter and you could go even further enhancing with some additional sfx like leather shrugling in the case of the monk, some metallic and heavy equipment shaking for the knight.
