took me a couple of attempts at this game to understand what I was meant to do, but each attempt was quick enough that I could quickly iterate and learn. I'm happy I tried this game!

Interesting concept and mechanics. A few sounds were a bit too sharp

Thought the mechanics were really interesting. I love farming games and farming while fighting off the enemies was cool. I wish there was an upgrade to increase the capacity of blood I could carry. It was rough to have 10 plots of land but feel like I couldn't really make good use of them because I could only carry 100 blood at a time.

Amazing that you managed to make such a polished game in 48 hours! The fighting actually works quite nicely and I could see this being a relaxing game. Good job!

Always impressed with people able to make compo entries, congrats! Similar to @worai, it took me a couple of tries in order to understand all the ins and outs. The procedurally generated music became annoying to me after a while so thank you for the music volume slider, much appreciated! :)

I understand the concept, but still I died a few times trying to buy items that I thought I had enough money for with the amount of blood I had stored in the bank. That mechanic is a little harsh, it would've been better to just deny purchase over actually bleeding out and dying. I am also not sure the attack speed upgrade worked, as I didn't notice anything going faster.

I also expected the blood dropped from my enemies to play some part into the mechanic, but if it can be collected I didn't figure out how. If it can't be collected, I wouldn't have included those bloodstains at all.

The art is very basic, and commits the crime of differently scaled sprites. (I feel like I am always pointing that out in my comments ) The palette feels a little like it's all *standard colors*, if you get what I mean - the browns and greens are very saturated and don't mix well.

I enjoyed the music, it's a nice composition, but I am not sure the bass sound (which is a bit of a shrill sound) fits with it. The orchestral parts are quite good, but the drums and bass I would've left out. The sound effects were all kind of harsh-sounding.

All in all, I kind of like these entries more than ones I can just say "nice work, no flaws" to, as I get to analyze and comment more elaborately. Keep it up!

I have to be honest, this surprised me and had fun playing it. Good concept, seems well balanced. Few issues I'd change - the attacking could use some work - either indicate better or get away with the mouse altogether and just use keyboard. Second one is I committed suicide a few times. I can understand the death by fertilization, but I would not allow it in the shop.

The game doesn't load on my PC. I use Google Chrome and Windows 10. I have waited for 5 minutes and there is still only Unity logo.

A very solid entry! Gameplay is good, it is actually fun, challenging but manageable. Art is just what is needed for an LD title, which is all about the gameplay.

super good submission, i was not expecting to enjoy it that much!

Really impressed! You created something that felt very new and the difficulty was just right. Liked the controls as well. Easy to use the shop, plant and fight monsters all at the same time. Well done.

Really nice concept and it is quite challenging. It did took me a little while to know how to use all tools given and I found little bug where the character hits by itself while moving around the field. In general, I've enjoyed plaing the game

jsec 2019-05-04 10:06

Game is fun but need rebalancing. Mechanics with disapearing loot is not ok, because almost always You are full and dont have chance to make trip to shop and collect it

Overall: fun, addictive and silly, I think it's great.

Fun: Yep! Fun and addictive! I think it would be even more addictive with a few small balance tweaks. I have no idea how to use all 8 available plots, I can't move fast enough to harvest the blood from more than 2. Maybe if the plants grew slower? And also maybe freedom should be more expensive?

Innovation: I think that the "action gardening" idea is pretty innovative!

Theme: Yes

Graphics: Kinda gaudy

Audio: In my opinion this sort of randomly generated music sounds OK but is not very memorable.

Humor: Sure, I laughed at the silly concept

Mood: Kind of intense at the same time as being silly.

While slowing down your actions when you are low on blood is very thematic, but the slowness didn't really match the hectic gameplay when low on life. This is is a classic question of when theme should be more important than gameplay. Otherwise it was a solid entry.

I collected 2712 blood and maxed out my blood sword before I accidentally clicked off the window and immediately died to some kind of Green Sheep of Death. Or is that a Shubbery?

Cool game! I was only ever able to effectively make use of 1 or sometimes 2 plots of land, so the farming could be made more interesting if they took longer to grow, and stuck around longer to get picked up. Some other kind of seeds to plant (more expensive, longer, but more payout, or repeated blood berry drops that only stick around for a short time, or something) could make the farming more interesting too.
