I won! 264 seconds.

Fun little game. Just enough going on to keep engaged. It took me a little while to realize how the disk inserting one worked - at first thought I just keep clicking randomly, then finally noticed that it changes if I stop on the requested disk, which makes total sense now. I love the console powered by blowing into the cartridge.

Confusing on what I need to do, looks fun just not a a clear path to the objective.

mrerdalural 2016-08-30 23:31

The objective was not clear but once I understood what to do puzzle made sense. I liked the introduction and the voice acting.

This was fun. Sadly I did not get to see the ending because of a bug where the little indicator went red as soon as the time machine was ready. Otherwise, I enjoyed the short mechanics of the game.

elit3dgaming 2016-08-31 00:11

Objective not too clear, but I love the voice acting and the graphics and music was great too.

dos 2016-08-31 00:22

Edited the description to clear up the objective a bit! Hope it helps!

You forgot to include liballegro.so.5.2 to the Linux build. Just sayin'.

Didn't understand what to do in the beginning, but quickly catched up. Very fun (and funny title), wonderful Polish-ish voice acting! I only wish it was longer!

Also, the music and the art style reminded me of Sosowski's games so much I had to double check if I'm not playing his game. A moze to po prostu taki polski vibe... Pozdrawiam :D

240 seconds. :)

It's simple but addicting. The silly voice acting adds to the charm of it all. Only complaint would be that it's a little confusing to realize why you can't get the time machine working even though all parts are functional.

headmade 2016-08-31 00:50

Haha the humor in this game is great and you nailed the theme! I love the intro and the voice over, the accent really adds to the wacky vibe.

However I struggled to charge the time machine and once I got what I had to do there was no challenge to it, it was just tedious. But the story really makes this game stand out, I should look at your previous entries, maybe there is more gold hidden there :)

I cannot tell you how many times i was yelled at as a child for leaving the coal out next to my Atari 2600... thanks for the reminder!!!

but seriously. this was a cool game. I loved the art style and while the mechanic was somewhat difficult at first, it was easy to figure out in the end, which was a nice little reward in itself.

bmacintosh 2016-08-31 05:45

Great polish on the voice acting and the art! Hilarious mechanics.

Why Pegasus carts? more people abroad are more familiar with NES carts (gray) or famicom carts (square corners). I see that's not the "original IQ-502" pegasus btw, it's a Polystation :) Oh, and the "put coal into atari" part seems to be inspired by that one module that I can't find on internets. Oh, and I never had to swap a stack of floppies (mostly 2-3) except for Win3.1 that had 11! Great work on the game! Loved Computer is Fine, loved Karczoch, loved this. Crazy gameplay mechanics!!!

fragileannihilator 2016-09-01 14:44

Cool Idea. I figured out the mechanics quickly, but I thought that the machine will be ready immediately after all 4 indicators turn green. Only after a while I noticed those blue lights...
Btw, what's the point with Atari and coal? Is it some joke from the 70s?
I used to blow into my gameboy and Dendy (NES clone popular in CIS countries) cartridges too...

jupiter_hadley 2016-09-01 20:48

Really nice concept! I included it in my compilation video series of Ludum Dare 36 games, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/ZBKvUw84G7I

I always like these mini-game thingies :) It took me a little while to figure out how to charge the time machine (I was focusing on one old computer at a time, instead of keeping them all running), but once I had it going, I managed to beat it pretty quickly!

However one word of warning - the Mac build of this game isn't great. It produced a heavily flickering border which even persisted after I closed the game (!!!). In the end I had to re-install OS X to get rid of it.

rafaskb 2016-09-01 23:44

I love the graphics of this one! Somehow this game sent me back to my childhood haha. The computer desk filled with random floppy disks, the computer running some crazy awesome DOS game, and having to blow cartridges to make them work, I miss that lol

My record was 384 seconds, it took me a while to understand what to do, and more importantly how everything was related to the time machine (the time machine leds weren't clear enough). Fun game! Too bad I don't have a time machine now lol

As for the Mac build, it's bad like @Tinj says, but for me, closing the game ends the flickering borders, so it's more an annoyance than a real problem. (Seriously? Reinstall the OS???)

Anyway, cool game! :)

dos 2016-09-02 00:15

I've updated the builds with a change that'll hopefully fix the flickering border issue!

plasmaernst 2016-09-05 13:09

Hectic and funny and nice graphics! Took me a while until I figured out what to do. 725 seconds.

frederika 2016-09-14 03:31

I liked the idea of the game in theory better than in practice. The game was fast paced but annoying rather than hectic. Blowing on the cartridge didn't always seem to work properly, which may have been a design choice?
