Woah, I had a good time in a party! That feels... odd XD Seriously, cool game!
Cool, I enjoyed the vibe of the writing in this one! Funny stuff and feels like a heightened version of a real party! Lots of fun little bits and choices! I think it might work a little better if the graphics were used for anything, or if you got rid of them. Like, either the camera changing places or player movement to match the hyped up music, or if you instead got rid of the 3D and either just used text or had illustrations every now and again. But the core of the game was great and I was excited about every choice I made, and it was funny seeing the results!
a very nice, innovative concept!
Thats a lot of writing!
This was worth it for the Nickelback joke alone! Clever, fun and I liked the vibe. The flat character aesthetic worked for me too and liked the way it contrasted with the real party convo background audio. Nice.
I played nickelback :(, I really like the music, it works with the party style. Overall nice written and fun to play. Would love if the player actually moves through the house.
Good game, funny story, it really makes the party going experience way more awkward than it has any right to be.
This was a good experience! I actually enjoyed the writing because there was never too much text on the screen at one time, and it was very well written. I think I got the good ending lol :)
Good stuff:
You really nailed the atmosphere-- the music in particular really conveyed the sense of being at a real party. The writing was engaging, and each scenario felt like it made sense, even the absurd ones. The resource management component was nicely integrated, and I'm glad it wasn't made too much of a focus-- it made the writing feel more central, which was the strongest part of the game anyway.
Areas for improvement:
Not a whole lot. Other people have mentioned that more graphics might be nice, and I agree-- I liked having a single background image, but switching places based on location could be cool, and the main menu could have been a little more professional. It didn't feel all that connected to the jam theme.
Overall;
Really fun, well written game! Thoroughly enjoyed!
the mechanics were a really nice surprise. going for a second playthrough and getting new events is a nice detail.
I like your use of the theme. It was all fairly well written too. Also some of the music was really good.
It's a shame the player doesn't move throughout the house, that would have been a really nice touch and made the gameplay a little bit more fun. It's a nice game, there's plenty of options to keep you entertained.
An excellent little adventure. The humor is definitely helped by the silly, while charming art. The music is really the finishing touch to make this something special. Well done!
Great take on the them and the music is really cool. The only thing I really miss is some movement in the party or character animations.
I dont know what to say... It was a fun little party, i guess??? Well, this is akward... (Just like my social skills... 🤣)
this was a bizzare experience. shame the image is stationary :c
Cool concept, if you were to expand on it, either move the little people around, even if not in relation to the story, or maybe some full screen illustrations would be cool.
