LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Hands on Work by jefvel 2020-10-06T20:53:55Z

Wow it's really well optimized in terms of controls schemes. Can use mouse, or the actual buttons. So much stuff going on. Fantastic graphics and sounds. Definitively strong Papers Please vibes.

It's a simple game in it's main mechanic, but it's how everything is so well connected and the humor/atmosphere that really makes it amazing. CHAOS!

Amazing! A fantastic idea for a game mechanic, great execution. It balances between being slightly annoying controls and great controls. I think it's because of all the momentum lost when hitting a enemy that can be a bit tedious, but if you reverse your spin it can be carried on in the other direction (if you time it right).

But I played it to 100% completion and thought it was brilliant overall :)

Really cool! I like the minimalistic trippy music, it really sets a slightly unsettling atmosphere.

The mouse sensitivity was really high I feel like, but a really solid puzzle game!

Very calming experience. I appreciate the commentary. Gives of a very chill "The Stanley Parable" atmosphere.

It's very easy to accidentally get out of the loop and also that that car slightly turns when pressing forward only. Would be nice to reset the car without losing the lap count as others have pointed out.

@thomas-volpato Thanks for feedback! Yes I absolutely agree, I tried some different approaches on cameras for that part, but in the end i failed to make it a smooth transition

@literal-games Thank you! Yes this was a very "simple" game, but it could definitively be improved with some more interesting puzzles.

Like others I found it hard to understand, but once I did I had to replay it some times. It's hard! But a really cool puzzle game idea. I really like it!

Would be nice to have some sound effects for the water. Some features I thought about that could be added maybe: * Maybe have a preview of the tiles you're swapping, and could cancel swap pressing ESC or similar. * When you lost it took a while until I noticed because nothing was happening. It could maybe alert that I lost and ask if i wanted to replay again.
