Very cool! although most of the puzzles felt more like a bunch of versions of the stairwell puzzle from antichamber, I think you could have done some stuff like the looping doors moving around or being rotated, but other than that it felt very surreal and cool!

testuser 2020-10-04 21:47

Thanks, I had more plans for extra mechanics, which I do plan to expand on probably after the compo. I will keep moving portals in mind.

anchorlight 2020-10-05 02:17

Great work on this!

If I had to give any feedback, I'd say my main issues are that the mouse input feels a little temperamental, and could use some smoothing. I also found that I was facing frequent stuttering at the center of rooms, pausing the game for seconds at a time... that said, it's hard to say whether that stuttering is on my end, the game, or WebGL limitations. I also would have liked to see a little more verticality to the game, though I don't know how feasible this would have been for a compo.

I'm definitely interested in seeing where this goes!

cyclonicheart51 2020-10-05 07:19

Honestly a really cool idea and great execution for the limited time span, though I might be slightly biased as antichamber is one of my favorite games.

spikedog 2020-10-05 07:26

Very cool game! I really enjoyed working through it.

My only gripe is the mouse sensitivity seemed quite high, it was quite difficult to control. I eventually got used to it though so not a big issue!

chickencastle 2020-10-05 08:32

This was really cool! Very reminiscent of the 'Portal' games. Very nice execution of the theme.

I found myself getting disoriented at times without any major landmarks, and it took me a while actually to realise the infinity aspect of the levels. The first level in particular took me a while to work out because i was just following myself for quite a long time haha!

Great work!

future-labs-unlimited 2020-10-05 08:47

This really feels like an endless labyrinth, especially in the last section of the game. That was also the best part of the game in my opinion as it felt the most surreal. I easily become disoriented even in non-looping rooms, so that was quite a challenge at first. ;)

The game was stuttering a lot for me as well as I first started it in Chrome but ran very smoothly in Edge, so that may be a browser issue? I had no issues in Edge other than sometimes falling through the ground and coming out on top of the room again which felt a bit glitchy but at the same time added to the surreal feeling. And one time I got stuck in a falling loop for a short time, so maybe it's a feature!

tayfun 2020-10-05 09:18

Music and mood is perfect. I have spent 2-3 minutes for running to black spot until exploring there are secret labyrinthes. Very fun to play with switches and feels like first person puzzle platformer. Maybe it needs just a little adjustment to mouse sensitivity.

phillserrazina 2020-10-05 09:43

Oh man, this game is TRIPPY. I loved it! That last set of levers puzzle took me a bit to figure out ahah. Great job!

brads-space 2020-10-05 10:52

Awesome work! That last one took some thinking. I bounced around a bit when going into one of the new levels once but other than that it was great.

anomay 2020-10-05 13:34

This kind of game is what I most want to see in this theme! Only computer game can realize the loop room

And...Can you have a fix for the mouse input?:)

jk5000 2020-10-05 14:58

This was overall a fun and well made puzzle game. The music was good, but the visual style could have been more interesting. And I would also have liked the final puzzle to be a bit more difficult.

gironimo4 2020-10-05 15:09

Solid entry, the puzzles were fun to play, and I love the mobius strip theme! Will have to do the windows download as mouse sensitivity on itch tends to get a little too unwieldy unfortunately.

rhoff95 2020-10-05 15:11

Cool game! Mouse sensitivity was way too high for me. I would have preferred to see a single puzzle that was more polished and had the best example of the looping mechanic you had than a series of levels. Good job!

paer-strandberg 2020-10-05 15:17

Really cool! I like the minimalistic trippy music, it really sets a slightly unsettling atmosphere.

The mouse sensitivity was really high I feel like, but a really solid puzzle game!

aterlamia 2020-10-05 15:21

Looks cool , but the mouse is a bit hard to control which makes it for me that i would not like to play this long times. Also the first time i kept going straight wondering if anything would happen.

testuser 2020-10-05 16:06

Sorry everyone for the mouse sensitivity! I used a different base player controller than usual. I won't update the game now for mouse sensitivity, since the compo is over and I don't think it qualifies as a major bug fix, but it's something I will be more aware of and fix in future iterations.

xenon27 2020-10-05 16:20

nice puzzle game! the infinite aspect of the levels is cool.

thegamerasd 2020-10-05 18:58

Really interesting game! The puzzles were nice and the game fit the theme well.

alex-davies 2020-10-05 20:01

Great game - a cool exploration of a looping 3D space using portals. I really like the puzzles, although the mouse sensitivity was rather annoying. If you haven't already I'd recommend taking a look at Sebastian Lague's video on Portals in Unity - it fixes a lot of the problems with portals like these, such as recursion and flickering: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cWpFZbjtSQg

testuser 2020-10-05 23:27

Thanks @alex-davies. I actually recently watched his portal video (along with some of his others, since they're all great), and used that a lot, so some of the flickering and recursion problems might just be artifacts more of the dynamism of the portals in this game (versus the static portals he shows in the adventure).

kristian-kurktchiev 2020-10-06 00:18

Gotta say, loved the graphics, and the puzzles were good fun as well. Great job!

123seven3 2020-10-06 02:27

I didn't even realize you were supposed to put coloured blocks on colored buttons for a while, since when I came upon the first button, I just activated it with left mouse button and all buttons are just toggles

testuser 2020-10-06 02:46

Haha, thanks for catching that bug @123seven3. I looked back at my code just now, and the player trigger system I made does in fact look for any trigger, not just the manual triggers that extend from that. Something I think I'll have to leave in the build, but is a quick fix for future iterations.

netmute 2020-10-06 07:39

The sound was soothing and beautiful! Puzzles were nicely designed, and the simple art style fit the game very well

That mouse sensitivity tho. The slightest movement made me fly all over the screen

dakke 2020-10-06 10:53

Nice little brain massage! Really cool concept and i don't really grasp how the code would be created but really great effort for this theme! Puzzle/length was just about right for these kinds of review plays.

As a thought for the future I never really saw a reason to use the jump, maybe remove it or add some need for it? Make it loop in the y axis as well? :D crazy And maybe a mouse sensitivity slider for me and the others who had problems with it.

I like it!

island-jam-2-group-3 2020-10-06 16:09

Cool entry! Loved the ambientation and, once I got it, the mechanics xD (it took me longer than I would like to recognize to realize the loop ^^U) As someone already pointed out, the mouse sensibility is too high on the browser version. Other than that, good job!

ethan-alexander-shulman 2020-10-07 15:23

Really nice idea I wish you moved faster, the puzzles mainly felt limited by my movement speed.

schraf 2020-10-08 20:23

Good job. It took me too long to find the first puzzle room. I did end up getting to a point where I kept falling and then I got stuck on a white screen.

ghuyajil 2020-10-08 20:33

Nice idea, mouse was a bit annoying indeed but with a gaming mouse not super bad. Last puzzle was well thought out :)

testuser 2020-10-08 23:03

You know, @ghuyajil, I hadn't really thought about it, but maybe part of why I hadn't noticed the mouse sensitivity problems as much while developing was that my mouse is a gaming mouse. Thanks for that insight!

endurion 2020-10-10 17:33

Wow, neat concept and well executed! Esp. the atmosphere is great with the music.

Had a bug where I fell down and kept falling and reappearing on the top; but couldn't get out. Really nice! Plays smooth and without lags in Edge.

hoolop 2020-10-12 14:51

I love this concept and it's very well executed for a so small amount of time ! Mouse is a bit sensitive but I wish there is more levels to enjoy ! Great job !

archgame 2020-10-20 01:17

I'm surprised there weren't more games like this, love the spatial looping puzzles, very nice. I got a bit motion sick because the mouse sensitivity was super high.

gamescodedogs 2020-10-23 06:43

I loved the endless labyrinth concept, the music is pretty cool, too!

telescape2000 2020-10-26 16:59

I liked it for what I played but about 10min in I fell off the level and out of bounds. I also liked the music.

testuser 2020-10-26 22:48

Thanks for playing @telescape2000. Sorry you weren't able to finish the game. I tried setting it up so when you fall, you drop back from the top, but I think there may have been some issues (some people mentioned falling indefinitely at times), so sorry this one came up. It was something I would have had a better solution to with more time.

tim-eriksen 2020-10-27 12:51

very nice puzzle game! I liked it :) The music/sound fit the game well.
