WASD / Arrow keys isn't moving the guy for me using Chrome 44.0.2403.155 m on this page... If I go straight to the game at http://huvaakoodia.github.io/LD33_2015_WEB/ that works though.

Decent idea, shame you didn't have time to add more in the time. I'll be sure to try your post-jam game :)

It kind of reminded me of (generous) space invaders. Did those buildings have a purpose? Anyway, I like the gameplay. It was pretty responsive and it was a little bit of a challenge to aim for distance (which I liked).

insality 2015-08-24 20:18

a fancy graphics and really good particles, i like it ;)
And mech theme! <3
good job

aberdeenphoenix 2015-08-24 20:45

Cool little concept. Gotta admit, aiming is kinda difficult. Nice animation and model for the mech, though. At one point, I decided to try to die by just running into the largest crowd of tanks, but then they ran away so I guess I won!

koba0100 2015-08-24 21:47

Dodging bullets was surprisingly fun! Very tight game, great art, liked how the buildings crumbled.

bclikesyou 2015-08-24 23:14

I dug it! I actually like the low-poly look of it all. Especially the rifle-flare sprite! I could definitely see adding additional enemies with different mechanics and how missions would work.

Had a little trouble telling if the ground was snow or just unfinished? There were a few times where my gun kept shooting even tho I wasn't holding anything down.

All in all, a solid effort!

Thanks for comments everyone.

@Sam Twidale
That is an unfortunate side effect of the Unity WebGL player being embedded into this site. Now that I think of it, I might be able to fix it. We'll see.

@aberdeenphoenix
Yes, you won!

@bclikesyou
The ground is most certainly unfinished. I mean, you can see the end of the world at the top as well.

Web version didn't work for me

strike 2015-08-25 13:22

Very sad you couldn't finish it, there is great potential. I'm looking forward your post-jam version ;)

flygamer101 2015-08-25 13:23

I ablsolutely loved this game. Its just sad you had no time to finish. First off, great graphics, everything, the particles and such. Then great models for player and talks. I remember seeing that post on how you finally figured out how to rig xD Took me longer. I could really ignore that there were only a couple houses, no sound, and I was standing on a giant rectangle. I had lots of fun.

darththomas 2015-08-25 13:24

Nice game, but i don't think giant-shooting-lasers robot is a monster.

komradus 2015-08-25 13:25

Love the concept, the visuals on the projectiles is rather impressive in a simple graphics kind of way, good job. Though the WASD controls didn't work for me on the latest Chrome version.

warxen 2015-08-25 13:27

I liked how the mech moved and rotated based on your mouse movements. Too bad you didnt get to make a full gameplay loop with the mechanics (goal - challenge - reward). Still good nevertheless.

knatt 2015-08-25 20:48

Well executed! I like how the mec controls, slow and tank-like, but easy to aim.

I don't really see how a mec is a monster though

kuchalu 2015-08-25 23:28

Really love the models, they remind me of something you'd find on a Nintendo DS. With missions, more enemies and a camera that follows the mech around it would definitely be a solid game!

voider 2015-08-26 15:23

Nice game. I really like the robot movement animation!

literal_games 2015-08-26 16:04

Nice little demo I guess. I like the Mech!

10upcrew 2015-08-26 16:05

Like the graphics and mech movement feels really good.

wavegunner232 2015-08-26 16:14

amazing game impressive graphics amazing mood very fun my only problem is there is only 1 map/level

kaltic 2015-08-26 17:03

Quite fun though the perspective made for some weird aiming. Really like the building destruction.

donpastor 2015-08-26 22:35

Short but fun. It might become a great arena shooter with a bit more of work. I liked the crumbling buildings, it was a nice touch.

Pity that you didn't have enough time to put a winning screen.

Good work!

keyboardmonkey 2015-08-27 04:48

Your mech controls really nicely, this is a good base for a larger game!

Biruts 2015-09-01 20:00

Very nice project guys, i really love it, please check our game too and if you liked it give us a vote. Look for Road to hell and enjoy.

bigbuggames 2015-09-02 20:31

Great game! Loved the robot graphics and specially the shooting mechanic, it's hard to aim but engaging and fair. Apart from the content that couldn't be added because of time, I'd just make the game harder lowering the amount of hp.

simonaiso 2015-09-04 08:37

Love the style of the objects! Fun to shoot as well. Too bad there isn't more than one level.

jwin 2015-09-08 20:40

Nice game! The graphics were pretty stylish and the missiles were fun. I would definitely play an extended version of this!

crucknuk 2015-09-09 09:03

Nice game with cool 3D models! Well done! ;)

william_edwards 2015-09-09 09:21

Superb graphics and a decent AI :) I like the isometric fixed camera; reminds me of an RTS :)
