Nice way to implement the theme. Pretty fun and a challenge to get used to the steering mechanism (or lack of (by design)). Took a few times to realize hitting the flag was causing me damage, but otherwise pretty straightforward to play.

Fun game with cool artstyle and clever mechanic (since its kinda like our game ;-)
Really enjoyed this one, reminds be of the app Desert Golfing.
This is a great game, you did a great job. It is very fun and creative, and the competitive aspect is great for the comunity. One thing that i found intresting, is that the controller goes down a bit when you go below it(i know it is a simple feature, but shows how polished the game is)
surprisingly much harder than i expected but it was really fun to play! loved the titles too especially "circleRC is a choice-driven narrative" and "frogs or something idk"
Man, it's pretty humbling to come back to this and see all this positive feedback. Thanks guys! 😄
@frecklebars I'm glad someone appreciates my terrible humour lol

Very unique and fun game mechanic. I can imagine playing this on my phone for hours.

I loved the concept of your game, it's a great idea. The gameplay reminds me of micro machines, but without the key to move in a straight line. Nice sound design.
@Neragoth I did indeed have micro machines on my mind when I started drawing the huge pencils and cassettes and such! Thanks 🙂

I didn't knew what to expect when I started the game, and I have to say it is a super clever concept! So far the best take on the theme I played, it's hilarious and super challenging! I like the graphics a lot, there are a lot of polish. Great game, good job!

First off- Loved the graphics- Had a Micro machines vibe to it :-) Nice to see a more 'down to earth' take on the theme. I enjoyed playing it- Good job and thanks for sharing :-)
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection

Very cool racing game with an interesting twist.
I really liked that you had to constantly chose between going fast to get a good highscore and going slow so you won't lose control.
It was fun how chaotic it could get when driving fast and messing up the timing just a little bit. Avoiding obstacles by just a few pixels while going full speed makes you feel like a pro (even if its purely because of luck in my case :P )
I played until level 14. Then I broke my car but for some reason the level didn't restart this time.
I couldn't beat your highscore in any level but I will try again later!
Playing your game was a lot of fun! It would be really cool if you tried it out our game as well and told us what you think.
Excellent. Very effective graphics. I love the controller and the fact that it hides naturally when you get close to it. I like how the car sounds louder as it moves faster. It sounds quite realistic actually. Good job on the polishing aspect. The levels are also very well designed. You introduce mechanics slowly and then you develop them further. I felt like the difficulty increased at a very intuitive pace. Excellent job. :)
@cambryx You're not the first person to find that bug! It's very strange and I'm trying to figure out how to reproduce it, since it seems to happen more or less randomly. Thanks for the feedback though 😁
Looks like I just figured it out. Seems to be if you collide with another car or something, they keep colliding with you and resetting the level restart timer.
This can be worked around, since by pressing ESC you get a pause menu where you can restart the level manually. I'll probably leave the fix for post-LD support, since it's kind of dubious whether this is something that was broken "while I was finishing up" (as per rules) and it's not game-breaking with the workaround.
tl;dr: **Press ESC and hit restart if you get the no-restart-on-death bug**
I'll update the description later as such.
Woah! This entry is amazing. I love when I'm passing through this Ludum Dare games and found one that I honestly wanted to reach the end. This was one of these games! It's very fun, fits perfectly the theme with a very creative approach, graphics and sounds are good too. After the level 6 I was considering myself a pro player already. I definitely want to see more of this! Please make a mobile game of it and send me later!
@orlandobatista Thanks! 😁 Making this into a mobile game never crossed my mind tbh, but seeing as a couple people have mentioned it I might look into it. Could be an interesting way for me to learn how to put together touch controls!
As for more of this in general though, when I was designing the level select screen you can see I was gunning for about 50 levels, so definitely I'm hoping to expand on this game post-LD 🙂

Really cool interpretation of the theme. The driving feel of the rc car is good. It's hard, but you know why so it feels fair. The car behaves like you expect. Not much to say other than I want to play more of it :)

Really well made game, nice touch moving the controller when the car goes behind it. The enemy cars are cool, though I managed to cause a pile up by nudging one into facing the wrong direction.
This game was super cool and creative. I had a lot of trouble getting the circle around the flag a lot of the time. Might just be the fact that I am not the best at video games. 😅
I had a lot of fun with this game! It's very well polished. Like others have pointed out, the controller moving down when the car is underneath is a really nice touch. The take on the theme is absolutely creative too! Good job on the game!

I really liked the artstyle in this one. It also felt very well to play, even though it was very frustrating at first :P
It's not a straightforward driving game! Brilliant twist. Frustrating at first but once you get used to not being able to drive straight it is fun and rather addictive. Finished all the levels and I was expecting a congratulations screen! RCgame.png
Very nice game! Good job. :race_car: :race_car:

Very nice game and good level design! It was fun to circle around, the primary gameplay **loop** was very good and fun
Also, pretty nice graphics and nice sounds. It's very good that the "controller" goes down if you are near it, it's also a nice toucht that the foward button on the controller is broken
I enjoyed that Game alot!

I basically love everything about this! Level difficulty increased nicely, physics are nice and it's a really fun mechanic. Great Micro Machines vibe! I loved the added detail of the controller, and the fact that it moved out of your way if you got too close. The only thing I'd like to see is slightly bigger sprites, perhaps with a camera following rather than showing the whole play area. This could easily be fleshed out into a larger game. Love it, well done.

very nice, one of my favourites of LD47... there are a few similar gameplay games, but this one is the best I've played. I feels really good when you master the movement. The car is so cute :) I like the small details, flag rises when you collect all the points, controller hides when you drive under it... Collisions with other cars could be better, I got stuck often (and the collision sound is weird :).
It would be fun with online high scores and ghosts of other players...
@ded Thanks for the feedback! You're definitely right about the collisions, I had to hurriedly put together the enemy cars in the last few hours, so hopefully i can figure out how to polish that up later 😅
And high scores - absolutely! I'm not sure how yet since I haven't done something like that before but putting this on a site like gamejolt or newgrounds with high-score support could be a lot of fun.

i did especially enjoy the choice driven narrative :) reminded me of days when my rc indeed was stuck
