LD45 — Start with nothing

Start with NOThInG by Kerdelos 2019-10-20T10:38:28Z

Wow! I love everything about this game. I think it fits the theme well enough, and the gameplay was actually interesting for me, and it's hard to make a proper puzzle game in such a short time. Also thanks for making it a web build, makes it much easier to play and rate the game.

Deep Station Fine by ancient-pixel 2019-10-16T15:30:25Z

Honestly the game was confusing for me, I'm not sure if you were making a lot of spelling mistakes or if it's a "part" of the game, but either way it was just making things harder for me.

Red Vs Green by Flying Cat of the Pepes 2019-10-17T17:33:18Z

I love the visual style. The gameplay is a simplified archero, which is fine. I just have an issue with the fact that everything is too fast, and in a couple of levels i'm not even trying to dodge arrows, I just run and hope they don't hit me.

Wandering Soul by negator2vc 2019-10-17T17:24:46Z

The artstyle is very nice, like everyone already mentioned. The gameplay is ehhh, not very interesting.

Bathtub Admirals by shide 2019-10-19T17:33:44Z

Graphics are very good, but the gameplay is confusing and almost non existent I think. Does it matter where I place guns on the ship? The progression is very unclear as well. Is there a benefit to not placing guns on all slots?

EDIT: I've now read the description here, so some things are more clear but they should probably still have been ingame.

Dear Diary by Rodrigo Denúbila 2019-10-20T11:30:06Z

I think this is really a great game so I want to give you real feedback.

The story is really cheesy and dramatic. Who the f*** won't tell his wife about an event like that.

Walking and interacting with stuff was kind of boring, like having to walk back to see the weeding date, or the dogs name. It would be much nicer if once I read those things, they would be added to the "diary" so I could just scroll it on the spot and find what I need.

But oh my god dude, I love the visual style and everything else about the game. Even some small details like a room's light turning on so you know you'll have some interactions in that room, really good! I also loved the apartment layout with white lines on the floor, I think it's a good unique design choice. Would be nice to have had something similar when following nick in the streets.

I hope you will expand upon it by fleshing out the story and the mechanics a bit, you already nailed the visual style and that alone is sometimes enough for a game to really stand out and sell well.

Overall great game!

The Voodoo Slaughterhouse by squirrelsoft 2019-10-18T15:05:01Z

Interesting concept and nice graphics.

Spikt by Paulo Brunassi 2019-10-16T15:40:37Z

The soundtrack is nice and fitting. The graphics are pretty nice as well. The game is slow though, I don't like the moving platforms that much as I have to ride them for a long time. I would "shorten" them.

Also the camera moving quickly when I turn around is weird. I was able to jump over the gate with the lever, so I thought I had to continue doing stuff there(even though I haven't found the arms) so I was very confused, but now I read that I was suppose to go back. There are generally collision bugs in the game(like getting stuck on the two platforms that meet - one going vertical, one horizontal).

Space trial by PaulLyaudet 2019-10-17T17:28:07Z

The graphics and music is pretty nice. Gameplay is also cool, though I was a bit confused by how to use the cards. Also the block mechanic is hard to hit right.

The Carpenter by Valentin4311 2019-10-16T15:53:40Z

The graphics are very nice, although a bit confusing as I'm not always sure what's an obstacle that kills me or what's just decoration(mushrooms for example).

The collision is wonky somewhere, I was able to slide across water a couple of times. The controls sometimes feel like they are not listening to me, but that's very hard to nail down so I won't hold it against you, just giving it as feedback.

Overall, the game is pretty good.

Tardigrades on the Moon by bassguitarbill 2019-10-19T10:13:25Z

The game is too slow for me(even on fast), and the AI could use some work (i.e. the tardigrades actually move in the canals as close to the building spot as possible). I would lose a lot of tardigrades by placing a build order on one side of the map, and them starting to marathon to it from the other side across the dry land.

Other than that the game is good, I would have(and wanted to) explore more if the two things i mentioned we're a bit different. The music is very nice as well.

Sorrow Quest by Adam Saudagar 2019-10-16T15:46:07Z

The sound effects play a bit late e.g. opening a door, i move towards the door, it dissapears and only 1 second later do you hear a sound effect.

Other than that, the mechanics are interesting, and the gameplay is fun.

Mission interrupted by EndSSGamesStudio 2019-10-20T11:13:23Z

Great atmosperic feel to the game! Had a lot of fun playing it. I hope you'll expand upon it in the future.

VoidTech by loganthemanster 2019-10-20T10:47:01Z

There isn't much gameplay here, although I still had fun playing through this adventure. I think you really built a good atmospheric feel with this game. The graphics, sound and story all blend well together.

GettingHome by Mowgli 2019-10-20T10:56:38Z

The screenshots don't match the game. I'm sorry but I'm going to have to be rough here. I don't think this is a good game, especially if it was being made by a team of 3. The graphics are nice, i'll give you that. But this is not gameplay. There is only one level and you can't really fail it unless you aren't moving, it has no challenge. You don't have a timer to know what time you have to beat. There are no sound effects which is weird if you have invested time into graphics. Also, your "END" button doesn't work.

Tightrope Gauntlet by Jonno 2019-10-20T11:00:41Z

It's kind of hard to get a good feel for the hitbox, and when to jump and land. It took me more tries than i'd like to admit. But it's a fun game, I found myself wanting to beat my highscore.

Barren by Whiteseraph 2019-10-18T14:29:46Z

@negator2vc Screenshots! How could have I forgotten those haha.. Thanks for reminding me :)

Seedvilization by graslany 2019-10-17T17:39:00Z

I really like it. I think you created a well rounded game, everything is at a pretty good level of quality. The sound is decent, the graphics are good, the gameplay is interesting. Good job!

Redbeard's Return by civmaniac 2019-10-20T11:05:49Z

Hey, since you made the game with godot, i'd suggest making a web build on itch.io, so people can have an easier time playing your game.

Caravan Wars by LeGoLaZ 2019-10-19T16:38:12Z

Took me a minute to figure out how to play, but after that the concept is simple. Graphics are good, could use some sound effects though.

LD46 — Keep it alive

The Olympic Flame: 2420 by Local Minimum 2020-04-26T14:38:27Z

I like it. I'm not sure how RNG based is it(and could you just not get the cards you need), so that is an issue I have with the game, but other than that it really takes a simple concept and expands upon it in an interesting way that allows you to even try some out of the box strategies to try and win. Also kudos for the weird graphics.

Sim Cell by Archimagus 2020-05-09T16:31:04Z

I'm very much into simulation games, and this one seems very interesting. I had a fun couple of minutes(even though I had no idea what I was doing), and then all my structure dissapeared into waste. Any type of tutorial would help this game a lot. Also the nucleus UI and picking what to build is a bit clunky.

Chaleace Tournament auto-battle by lythom 2020-04-26T14:29:50Z

The game bugged out on the 2nd battle, and on the 3rd one the opponents no longer had a chalice. There's also a little bit of an information overload when you start the game, hovering over the wizards displays way too much info that's not explained. I like that you made an autobattler as I really like that genre, but it needs more work on polishing the inbetween battle stuff.

Connection by Trifectuh 2020-04-27T11:59:05Z

It's a good game and I had fun playing it. It's easy to pickup. Note - the AI can fill a lane and close it in 1 turn if he has only one card of his own on it. Happened to me and It's very hard to prevent him to do so strategy-wise. I'm not sure the logic you are using behind the hood on how the AI places the cards, but might try imposing a limit of 2 cards/per lane/per turn if other lanes still have empty slots.

Try going for a compo if you are doing everything solo, this would have been a very strong compo entry!

Tiger Chow by Dan Thompson 2020-05-09T16:34:45Z

I'm not sure if there's any more to the game than the 2 small minigames, as I only picked up 3 roadkills. The mini games are tedious.

Strazy Dazy by B. Golda 2020-05-02T08:12:39Z

My two issues are the commands(arrow keys are confusing for a 1 2 3 4 layout, especially on a macbook pro). I think a 1234 or QWER layout would have been better. The other issue is I can press the button like crazy before the 'beat' comes, and I don't get punished for it.

Other than that the game is nicely done and the music you created is very fitting.

Keep The Spirit Stone Allive by Ausstein 2020-05-09T16:55:29Z

Good idle game. The visual feedback makes it much more interesting to play(I was wondering how long it would take to cover the whole area with trees and mushrooms). I can see that the post LD has some features that would have helped the entry a lot(the next wave button and speed increase).

Keep Gannet alive by Monish Vyas 2020-04-26T14:33:09Z

It's short and sweet. A simple concept that can be expanded upon for a mobile game. My only issue is there's not enough time between "stages" for me to process what I need to click away and where is it, so that can be kind of RNG based if you are going to survive.

Raising Cerberus by LocksmithArmy 2020-05-02T08:07:14Z

I couldn't figure out what to do. I was fishing the souls on the styx but couldn't do anything with them after that(charon said I had nothing to sell).

Pestilence by Whiteseraph 2020-04-26T17:46:29Z

@quinn-patrick Thanks for the detailed feedback. The reversing controls are the 'effect' of the gas leaking in the second room(It was supposed to be a timed segment!), but I can see now that it's poorly communicated to the player.

Medic! Keep'em Alive by Robert Li 2020-04-26T14:49:07Z

Graphics and audio are well done. Gameplay could use a little extra, but the concept is simple and easy to pickup(so many LD games have way too complex systems). I ran into a bug where I was able to run outside of the map to the left side, and could never return again but the game just continued.

Le LÉGUME by OhMyGuigui 2020-04-26T14:44:52Z

As others have said. graphics and audio are very good. I don't mind it being hard, but I think in the context of an LD jam it might be a bad idea as I can only devote a small amount of time to each game as I want to play and rate as many as possible. I'm not giving you any negative points for this, It's just my LD game design philosophy. At the end of the day, this is a 'complete' game with audio, gfx, and gameplay all tied together nicely.

Plant Man by Broken Robot Studios 2020-04-27T12:07:35Z

The controls are a bit janky. I also got completely blocked by the enemies at one point on the left side of the map where you have that vertical corridor. I landed on enemies there and couldn't jump of their heads or move anywhere. Adding the ability to jump of their heads would probably be good.

Shooting the plant at yourself(so it kind of just stick near your head still) makes it almost impossible to move, probably due to some collider/physics issue.

Another point of feedback as far as controls, if you are already using the mouse to aim the plant, make the mouse click throw the plant, not 'E'.

Prime Rush by hlo-world 2020-05-09T16:39:20Z

I ran the 1080p web version, but nothing would happen. I just moved my character around trying to figure out how to start the game.
