I blame Carol Baskins. Really funny game. Love the graphics! I wish the roadkill section had a timer to tell me how long it took.

Thanks so much for playing, Mike! I over-scoped a bit relative to my abilities and adding a proper scoring/rating system completely fell by the wayside as a result. I agree though--in hindsight I would have re-prioritized and put a timer in there.

Simple- yes, but a great start and proof of concept. Bravo! Fun mini-games and could definitely use some more, but it's a compo! Extra points for Wolmar and that truck full of meat! Great job and thanks for the lil game!

Haha, fun little game! :D

whiteseraph 2020-05-09 16:34

I'm not sure if there's any more to the game than the 2 small minigames, as I only picked up 3 roadkills. The mini games are tedious.

limbo 2020-05-09 16:55

I didn't fully understand what I was doing, still I was having fun :). Some ridiculously joyful music would work here well (if there was any sound - sorry, I didn't hear that).

melomel 2020-05-09 17:01

Is bologna meat? I think the mini-games are a good concept. I need the roadkill to be more bloody and gross, though. I do not know why, I'm not normally a gore-liking person.I wish there had been a tiger in there at some point, like a fat one on the end screen.

roka-josh 2020-05-09 17:03

Funny game and well executed. I agree some variety in games would help keep the game feeling fresh. Overall though good job!

julienlussiez 2020-05-09 17:04

Intersting game. It reminds me warioware. I didn't manage to chop correctly the meat at the beginning because I didn't understand you had to be very precise but I finally managed it. Good job.

cheesepencil 2020-05-09 17:52

Good effort for 48 hours, compo is really tough. I liked the simple art! If I had to pic something to criticize it is that it's really hard to see the mouse cursor on the click-the-meat sections on the blue background.

zondarg 2020-05-10 22:17

hehe.. fun game. A bit more minigames would be nice, but the idea is great. Some music and cartoon style sound effects would be good though. I liked it!

demandooda 2020-05-11 04:30

Funny game with simple, fun little minigames, and great ms-paint art. A bit of polish and content, and I can imagine that this game could be played for hours while listening to a boring lecture at school. Good stuff!

nurkkacthulhu 2020-05-11 15:45

Short and sweet, I hope the tigers are not hungry for a while after my sacrifice :)

dcrdro 2020-05-11 16:21

I liked all the mechanics in game! And idea is pretty different from the rest. But maybe I'd add time limit for animal cutting mini-game, or/and some penalty for wronkg cut. But still good entry! (and there is a bug, if there are several intersecting foods, you click on them all)

100th-coin 2020-05-11 16:43

I think the precision required in the roadkill sections is a bit too much... it became increasingly frustrating when the line I draw seemingly lines up perfectly and it doesn't succeed. That said, the game is pretty funny and I like the artwork.

snory 2020-05-11 16:59

Thank you for the entry.

I smiled at least two times which is a lot, because I am not in a mood today. :-D First time it was when I had to chop the dear and second time when the end screen came up.

And when some games leave an emotion in the player, it is a good game according to me.

Anyway I was missing some challenge. :)

ixio 2020-05-11 17:09

Fun little game ! I agree with the precision problem on cuts for the roadkill sections. I instinctively tried cutting a bit far out from the arrow, I almost stopped playing when it didn't work but reading the comments I re-tried making my cuts start right at the bottom of the arrow : this goes against my big cutting instincts :stuck_out_tongue:

@joemid @thedouche @roka-josh @demandooda @nurkkacthulhu @snory Thank you for the kind words!

@whiteseraph I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it, but I appreciate you being honest with your feedback!

@limbo @zondarg I definitely wished I had the time to do music/SFX! I think I was a bit ambitious relative to my programming ability and I just didn't have the chance.

@melomel ...I can't believe I didn't even think about showing a tiger in the game until I read your comment. I agree, I should have done that!

@cheesepencil Thanks for the comment, I didn't see this mouse cursor visual issue while I was making the game so it didn't even cross my mind. I'll have to keep this in mind on future games, that it wouldn't hurt to add an extra graphic at the mouse cursor for clarity.

@dcrdro I was aware of the overlapping issue, but I didn't really feel like trying to fix it... lol (I didn't really have time anyway). I did also enjoy trying to get multiple meats with a single click while I was testing. Definitely a point where I skipped a bit of potential game polish, though.

@julienlussiez @blobo @ixio Thanks for these comments, I definitely agree that it's a problem point with the game, and it had to do with how I figured out how to quickly make those parts work on the programming side. Upon reflection I've thought of a better way I could have done it, but too bad I didn't think of that at the time haha. As such, my method required specific start and end points, and I definitely could have made that more clear in-game so it would be less frustrating.

cheesepencil 2020-05-11 17:41

@dan-thompson I played on a 4k television so my mouse cursor is really tiny compared to the rest of the visuals, which might explain it if you're not using a 4k display

dan-thompson 2020-05-11 18:03

@cheesepencil Ahhh that makes sense! I've got a 1080p monitor.
