Wanted to try this game, please let me know when you have published it :)
@busy-games @phantom-lab I'm so dumb, you're right I forgot to hit publish.
I would really appreciate it if you could try again :)
Glad you got it working, this was really cool. Traps were great, loved the ambient audio. Only feedback I have is some of the walls on 5th level were showing back faced culled looked like they were not supposed to be there. I could not go further. Still a great entry! this was fun to play
@busy-games Yeah, this is something I realised in like the last minute but it was too late to fix it. Since it's a game breaking bug I think it's fair to quickly patch it
Loved the mood so much. Not being able to fend yourself of the mice was so tense! Got to level 7 and couldn't progress further, but had a blast!
@magnie @busy-games So sorry the game got stuck, since this is a game breaking glitch I have patched it and updated the itch io page :D
Thought I'd let you know that @busy-games referred me to your game because apparently our games are very similar to one another. I played your game and thought the traps in your game were much more alarming than the ones I put in my game. You did a great job by the way. Good luck in the game jam! :)
The feeling of dungeon is here but I didn't felt like I was escaping of somewhere hehe. I felt more like being in an endless maze! Great job !
There were some kinda unfair traps imho and some clunkyness, but i liked it a lot! I gotta say, i got spooped. Good job! I got this far:

@bicheste thanks! If you're talking about the axe traps at some doors, those make a small sound before they trigger. So you have enough time to dodge
And if you're talking about the mice, they will run away if you shine your light directly at them
I guess that those two are pretty hard to find out on your own :)
Reached level 12, pretty good! Reminds me of oblivion! Needs a sword and maybe the skill to pickup and drink potions. Really good!
Really impressive - a great mood! :)
Ahhhh I got eaten alive by rats so many times :sob: It was good fun, I liked the dungeon aesthetic and the generation :)
One suggestion I would make is to make it a bit more obvious if a door was trapped, as it felt a bit frustrating sometimes when I got hit in the face with an axe haha. Good job though, good submission!
The axes, even with the audio hint, are frustrating. I think it would be helpful if the game had a sense of urgency, like a creature is chasing you through the dungeon. It would be nice if you could defend yourself from the rats. They would sometimes run away when shining the light on them, but not always, and they would get you from behind even if you were up against a wall. Other than that, I think there is potential here with a little more atmosphere. I didn't have much fun, but I liked the idea.
@euix I'm able to dodge the axes every time, but I get that they're probably a bit too difficult, I agree
I felt that there was a sense of urgency, with the cave in...
And lastly about the rats, you need to look down. Right at them, maybe you have some extremely rare glitch I don't know about but otherwise it should always work like that
Anyway, thanks for playing the game :)
Impressive graphics and audio for 3 days but I don't find the gameplay very fun. Very good atmosphere though.
Got to level 6. I like the art style ;) The scene switching using the torch light was a smart idea. I would have liked to pickup items etc. It was hard to know what to pickup and what not (I think only doors are interactable).
@pythooonuser Thanks! and you're right, only doors are interactable
Wow this is actually the best game I played so far in this jam. Great work!
+ Nice detail in the rooms of the dungeons + The Levels have a good size and scale in size pretty good + Overall the difficulty curve is just right for me + The introduction of new traps further down keeps me going. otherwise this game would be quite boring after some time. + rats are annoying (They should be in my opinion xD) + the click before tha axe trap is a great indicator. The axe was also my favorite trap because of this. It felt really good to figure out this trap after 2 times and by the third door: "haha! Not this time, axe!" + Nice atmosphere with the background sound / trap sounds / screen shake / lighting
- The player speed felt a bit too fast for me. Sometimes I would liked to go slower so I don't run into a trap by accident. Perhaps include a button to toggle walk/run. - The potions are a bit misleading. I tried to take a red potion to refill health but that did not work of course. Maybe some rare item to refill health a bit would benefit the game to create a moment of relief when you are nearly dead and find a refill. -The Sound of the sawblades were a bit wierd when in another room somtimes. Like on off on off on off. Don't know how do describe it better.
So the negative feedback really does not weigh that much. This is a great game. I enjoyed it a lot and hope my feedback helps.
Got to level 12 and might try to beat this some time.
@hugison thank you so much!
And I totally agree with just about every critique you have, if I had time these are just about all things I would add/change
The saw sound is a stupid one (on my part) because I just couldn't find a saw sound that would loop perfectly!
Potions would probably as you said add some much needed relief in later levels :)
Really one of the best games i tried during this jam really well done! Everything is really good the traps are quite cleaver and the general atmosphere is really interesting.
Good game! A few more type of rooms would have been nice, but the rooms you do have look nice like a real dungeon.
Feedback - No music or Audio a big bummer I really was excited for that - The intro was a bit confusing how after everything you have to skip - It was really fun to play but it was a bit hard I always died at the fourth floor. Hope you check my game out https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/48/lostbrother
@meritcoding hey, I agree with the intro critique but there was definitely sound (I've even had some positive feedback on the ambient sounds)
Just wanted to let you know before I get a bad rating on that category lol
I got to 13 floors deep, before one of those sawblades in the ground got me. >_< It was really scary and tense all the way through, so you really nailed the feel of the game! It truely felt like a deathtrap. I enjoyed the intro as well, it really set the stage.
- For some feedback, when I started I immediately got damaged by rats. This made me frantically run into some spikes that suddenly came out of the ground (in my rush I didnt see the tripwire), and then suddenly I teleported to a different place (I ran into the room with the way down, but I did not realize that was a thing yet). This was all very overwhelming and confusing, and I had no idea how I should protect myself against these random terrors. I think it might be better to spawn the player in a peaceful room at first, and give them the time to discover how the game works. On the other hand, it made me very paranoid of everything that came next, so maybe it served its purpose. - The rats were really cool, becaue they made you run away from them, making it more likely you stepped into some traps. On the other hand they felt a bit unfair (for me), since it was nearly impossible to get away from them without taking at least a bit of damage. - I really loved the atmospheric sound effects! They felt truely fitting. However, the game still felt a bit silent to me. Maybe because the sound effects where pretty silent/non-impactful? I actually dont really know why it felt that way. - One final thing I wanted to note is that (for me) keeping my health high was a bigger problem than the time. I never felt in fear of running our of time, however my health got really low near the end (and evenutally zero :P). Maybe this was intentional, but I just wanted to let you know!
All-in-all I really liked this game. You mentioned this was a bit different from your usual games, but I think you did a great job! After getting hit in the face by an axe, I got very carefull when opening doors. And once I noticed that those spikes were triggered by tripwires, I also started looking at the floor more. This game makes you very paranoid, which I think was exactly the point.
The visuals, sounds, and atmosphere is all good. The gameplay idea is simple and pretty fun. The levels fast looked a bit too similar, but it's okay for a jam game. Overall an fun little jam game. Well done.
@wuppos thanks, and I agree with eveything you said.
Balancing the health and time was really difficult because people play very differently, some people are careful but slow and others are fast but take a lot of damage
My brother for example almost always died from time, so yeah, I'm not sure how I would fix it but that's definitely something I would've worked on if I had more time!
The traps are very good, quite surprising! At first they seemed unfair but then I was able to figure it out. I did die pretty quickly though (level 6), but that's probably just because I'm bad. I didn't run out of time I just wandered around really fast and got hit by all the traps, haha. Good sound design, though I do think that the main menu might have needed something? Also, the first time you go down a hole it's not entirely clear what happened. I am somewhat interested in your procedural generation code, that seems pretty interesting!
Hey matey, thanks for submitting your game to stream! I really enjoyed it, and I hope my feedback helps! I really love the graphics that you made. Here's the vod if ya wanna rewatch later;

Great job! Love the atmosphere and graphics. Also great use of the theme! Had no problems with the traps, I think they find a good balance of how difficult they are to prevent.
The visuals were very appealing. But starting from level 3-4 the game becomes a bit monotonous(
Cool game, I really like the low-poly art and it is very well made
