This is really cute game. I just hate to watch the intro cutscene every time I float into the space.

gingerbill 2020-10-05 13:26

Cute game and hilarious intro!

athryell 2020-10-05 13:49

It was nice and relaxing jumping between the asteroids! The only catch is that every time you restart the game there is the long explanation intro (I played the web version). Anyway I collected 407 ice blocks before jumping in the open space.. :D

josephdevelops 2020-10-05 18:10

Love it! Very relaxing game.

a0405u 2020-10-05 23:24

intro is huge laughter

syafire 2020-10-06 02:17

I had fun collecting ice. The little particle effects on the ice were nice to look at. The voice line/actor did a good job and was funny. Overall I feel like having a win condition would have helped a lot. Great work.

victor-hallock 2020-10-06 05:50

Great Job! Love a LOT of things about this! Could see you taking it many directions, which is a sign of a great idea!

queenkrissu 2020-10-06 05:52

I adore your graphics. The little player character is adorable, and the controls were pretty tight. Great job! Also, the little messages you get when you lose are really funny

Thank you all so much for the great feedback: @ondy1985 Thank you so much for playing. The intro is definitely a bummer to watch over and over. You can skip it by pressing [P] during the fly-in, but I don't know if that was made clear in the version you played.

@gingerbill Thank you for the kind words. I'm excited to play your game, but it will have to wait until I can use a friend's Window's machine.

@athryell I'm glad you found it relaxing, that's exactly the mood I wanted to create.

@josephdevelops Thanks, you're the bomb. Thanks for all the help!!

@a0405u I'm glad you liked it. It was a last minute decision to try to get some sort of tutorial in.

@syafire Thank you so much for playing my game on your stream. You're absolutely right that a win condition is the biggest hole in this game.

@victor-hallock Thank you also for streaming my game. Watching you discover and enjoy my game in your calm joyful way is very affirming, and makes me want to make more games.

@queenkrissu Thank you so much for mentioning controls. I can't tell you how much I under estimated the difficulty of running around spheres in an intuitive way. I'm still not happy with it, but it's very nice that the effort was noticed.

Thanks for sharing! Loved the player character model and animations. The core mechanic of jumping to an asteroid felt really fun. Every time I clicked, I couldn't believe it worked! The possibilities of a full game are really exciting. Keep up the good work!

rakowu 2020-10-07 19:58

That is really great. You made me smile :D and i think you did a great job with the aiming and planet walk. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't easy to do it in that short time.

gabriel-dias-oliveira-de-almeida 2020-10-08 02:29

Saw your game in a Twitch stream! Really amazing for a compo man! ^^

ursagames 2020-10-08 02:55

Your game was played on my stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos ) on 10/7. Thank you for sharing your game with us! You can find the timestamp of when your game was played here: https://tinyurl.com/yy4oycvv

The camera moving with the character collecting ice was a bit disorienting. The controls didn't feel very good, I still kind of felt like I was aimlessly floating in space. The high risk of completely flying off into space and losing, versus the small reward of yet another planet's worth of ice, made the experience a bit more anxious than fun and rewarding. The art style was kind of cool, and the idea of collecting ice was cool too :) I do not know really the connection to the them though. Thank you for the game!

gamefriend 2020-10-08 06:24

This was a pretty cool submission. The moving on the asteroids itself felt a little wonky, but it was neat concept. I enjoyed flying through space and the intro was pretty cool too.

abdul-zakkar 2020-10-08 18:22

Nice work! Loved the intro :) pretty unique game, but would have liked a little something for getting all the ice :tropical_drink:

fatsheep 2020-10-08 19:14

Played it live on https://www.twitch.tv/fatsheep__ Very cute little game, loved that you just spin rapidly around the asteroids. My favorite part was probably the intro though, as the rest of the game could need some sound effects. Would also be better if it had an ending and/or a counter that says how much ice is remaining!

meek-bits 2020-10-09 06:30

Quite original. I like the models. The way you decided to present the intro was really great :) I only missed some kind of ambient audio.

I've got a technical question. Except cursor locking in Unity, have you changed something on the UI side? After locking the cursor with space I get a notification, that your game captured it and I should press ESC to get the control back. I wonder if you add some code to handle this, as I don't get such notification with my builds :)

layne-stokes 2020-10-09 07:10

Very "cool" idea and it's great when you are looking for a "chill" time. "Icy" the effort you put into making this game. Okay that's enough of that.

Funny intro and the game is built around a pretty humorous idea. The premise reminds me of the arctic expedition to get ice in the Simpsons.

I did encounter some oddities when launching through space. Most times the player would move at a constant managable rate but every so often the player would fly super fast like I got punted by a giant from skyrim. Nothing game breaking just something unusual I encountered.

The graphics are great and help sell the humour and sets the tone well for the game. Overall a great compo entry

Ohhhh, that was cute as hell! Well done on getting the gravity working per object, must have taken a while to figure out! I wish the gameplay loop was a bit more engaging, jumping from one asteroid to the next got repetitive pretty fast. Maybe adding some very slight movement to the targets where you have to predict their movements a bit more? Great job nonetheless!

marcmagus 2020-10-09 15:43

Beautiful graphics. Running around on tiny planetoids is very satisfying, great base on which to build up a game.

We talked about this on my stream, but the way the camera left/right works on absolute coordinates is kind of confusing when the camera is in a position where Planetary North is screen down so left moves the camera in the opposite direction expected.

Also, it would be nice if something in the game told you with a visual cue that the jumps account for orbital movement so you don't have to lead your target planetoid, just target it directly no matter how far away it is. Perhaps also being just a tiny bit forgiving on targetting, so if you're just barely off target you can still land rather than flying off into nowhere.

clemetayer 2020-10-09 18:52

Cool game! The gravity mechanic is really satisfying!

theconfusedcyborg 2020-10-09 21:53

Refreshing! Moving astroids would have made this much harder and more interesting. I loved the intro cutscene and the voice over was super fun!

jin9310 2020-10-11 15:12

Bit shame that you were not able to fit few sounds or some win condition. But I well understand that the time constrains are really challenging and you have done amazing job. The mechanism is really inovative and as a space lover, I must say that I had to hold my breath with each leap as it is kinda scary to know that if you miss your jump, it is just you and the infinity. Good job!

etrealjunior 2020-10-18 00:09

I already knew this style of play, but not from that perspective, being on a small planet with a very charismatic character, reminded me of the story of the little prince, I believe that in the future you will continue your project, including a narrative of children's fables , you may have a large audience waiting to play your game, congratulations continue to evolve, I wish you luck in your project, a big hug.

666savior 2020-10-25 23:05

Kinda fun little game. I had an issue while playing the HTML5 version that would switch between me lightly jumping off the asteroid and the game yeeting me into deep space. Might be a web build only problem. Still had fun playing it
