Really enjoyed playing this! The visual style and art direction look fantastic, and the overall aesthetic fits the theme very nicely. The presentation is super clean and cohesive for a short jam project. Left full ratings across all categories! If you have some spare time, we’d love for you to check out our game Meow Bomb! 🐱💣 I’ve also put together an updated alternative build with bugfixes and a working PC here: https://naiper.itch.io/meow-bomb-by-naiper
Cheers and best of luck with the jam!
Dang this game was so captivating and fun!! I got the first ending when I shared the "confession" with the Archivists, and then I worked harder and got a ton of money, then my money got stolen (RUDE), then I used all my secrets to get the Loom to trust me and BLEW IT UP. Truly, a really clean, well-made game with excellent and interesting lore and I loved playing it. Got some Cultist Simulator vibes, too. Wonderful work.

( SPOILERS FOR THE GAME )
Even though I'm not that into text based rpgs, your games definitely interest me quite a lot when I play them lol
Right off the bat, the world building was great. Especially when you see the ramifications of the loom in general. I even got a few achievements like filing a bug report and the one about hoping they don't use a flame emoji. I also died due to being pushed to origin. I guess I pushed my luck a little too hard there lol.
Going by the first sentence of the punch cards, I'm guessing we were going to destroy the loom through data poisoning ? Lol. Honestly, this game was pretty interesting and well written imo.
I didn't manage to get 2 of the secrets, mostly because I'm honestly not sure where to look, but either way I can say that I definitely really liked this. Especially the graphical style. Kinda makes me want to make an rpg in general now lol. Great stuff

This is awesome. The writing is interesting but concise. The world is immediately understandable but not too familiar. And even though it's a text based game the visuals while traversing the map are really nice. I thought the art looks like woven thread, despite your normal map woes!
@jabzey To clarify somewhat, the final graphics look reasonably like woven fabric because I went with my fallback plan of "just grab a generic fabric normal map from the internet." But hypothetically someone familiar with textiles could look at it and say "this is obviously just a plain weave, so any pattern on it must be printed rather than woven into the fabric itself," which I guess in retrospect is a level of nitpicking based on niche domain knowledge that is absolutely out of scope for a game jam.
Anyways, thanks for playing and commenting!

checked out your game after seeing your comment on mine! Funny enough, I also considered making a programming game about the Jacquard loom at first (but focus more on the programming part), but I just couldn’t figure out how the art would be look like haha. nice game and really love the visual style you went with!
This is a very substantial game and an intriguing story. I really like your use of the theme and the map that you created is very visually pleasing. The world building is very good and it feels like a fully-realised place with tensions and ideologies. The only thing I feel like it really needed was some music and maybe a few atmospheric sounds at times. Overall, great job!

(WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS)
Tried to beat it four times very captivating story right from the start. Tought I managed to get myself soft locked with spending my final 20 money to go back to my house and now I cannot go anywhere but thankfully I had the entry permits.
Is it possible to get the 7 loom trust even? I don't think I managed to get above 4.
Very nice entry.
@freamdev It is possible to get 7 loom trust, but you have to be extremely unethical, and also really know what you're trying to do, and it's also a bit grindy (this was my first time making something in this *Fallen London*-esque genre, and I ran out of time to balance it well). Also, if you run out of money you can always still work your way back up by exploring the winding streets, where you will sometimes find a single coin on the ground, but that's extremely grindy as well.
Anyways, thanks for playing and commenting!
This is a very interesting concept. It is one of those games that you cannot play in a hurry. The art is very good. I just wish there were a bit of audio playing to enhance the atmosphere that you are trying to create.
I have halted the loom, after which it caught fire.
What a fun and cheeky setting! I enjoyed the writing; it was certainly among the best I've seen in LD. It could have done with a little more variety, and maybe a source of time pressure to disincentivize some of the grinding that you can do.

Love the addition of the achievements. The map looked great, wish there was sound. Thanks for the game!

I did two runs, finally managed to defeat the loom, it was really fun !
!>It was funny trying to find arround where i could get new secrets for the loom (and a bit sad to have to disclose them and made people suffer... but it was for the greater good) !
My initial plan for my game (that is about loom as well) was to have something incremental where you buy upgrades to your loom and finally have something fully automatised... Glad that the time stopped me and pushed me toward a simpler pattern matching now that i see where it would have ended ! Thanks for your entry !

enjoyed the writing! it was interesting to learn about the world you had created. the gameplay is captivating due to many possible interactions. revisiting locations usually rewards you with new items/secrets, which is a plus.
ooh and i loved the font, very fitting. our game has a similar one, i just love these medieval serifs..
i only wish there were more distinct highlights of locations on the map (they are highlighted on hover, but it's hard to tell interactive from non-interactive ones right away). soundtrack/sfx is of course lacking, but i set my own music in the background, which was fine :D
overall, well done, thank you for a good story!
Good work, this looks atmospheric and has quite some depth to it. Also a creative take on the theme. Interesting choice to have different things happen each time you visit a location or try something.
