I really liked the feel of the movement + camera controls. I can see it needs a little bit of polishing but it works pretty good almost all the time. There's something very satisfying on scrolling around the branches of the trees :)
Its a weird little game, definitely stylish! It gave me a bit of PS1 vibes. The camera is reeeally finnicky though.

Unfortunately, my caterpillar got stuck on the second branch so I wasn't able to progress very far. Having said that, you nailed the theme. The artwork and audio are unbelievable. Really great looking game, great job. Oh also, I love the name of it
it looks very cool .But the controls are not the most convenient

Amazing character controller, really impressive. The dialog was funny and the music suitably relaxing.
Crawling upside down gets a bit wonky, and I managed to get myself stuck until I got the wings. From then on it was smooth sailing ;)
This game made me laugh out loud a few times.
The dialogue was just fantastic and really gave the characters some life. It was also a really original take on the theme. I thought the controls and the character movement were really good (up until I had to crawl upside down on that board in the second level... that broke my brain). Incidentally, I was playing on a controller.
Great mood. Great look. Original idea. Thumbs up from me!

@danc2236 So sorry to hear you got stuck! You can use the menu to restart, but sadly it starts you at the beginning. I tried to get an 'un-stuck' mechanic in before the deadline but it wasn't working :( Glad you liked it though!
@daniel-robledo Cheers! Hope you enjoyed crawling around <3
@dogesquad Camera is definitely finicky - Having it follow the player in a full sphere of motion was so tough! I couldn't get it to work perfectly :( hope you enjoyed it anyway though <3
@sega23333 Cheers! Yeah the controls take a bit of getting used to, its best on the gamepad in my opinion if you have one available
@toc Haha yeah the wings really streamline things ;) did you make it to the end?
@human-writes-code That board messes me up too! The camera really doesn't like that bit, I'm not sure why... everything feels inverted 😅 glad you liked it though!

Really cool game ! I'm impressed by the physics, the dialogs and the half baked butterfly made me laugh. BUT as a french guy, i'm offended by the fact you made croissant "trash food" :P

@eryph Hahaha I'm so sorry about the croissant! Its a delicious treat, but the ones I eat at least are very unhealthy 😉 Glad you enjoyed it!
Super fun game, it got a lot more easy and fun as soon as I got the wings. And the humor of the snail was on point  . Cozy music, good level design, a few bugs here or there but what can you expect from only a weekend of coding. Very good job!
I had a bit trouble when navigating upside down. Thats the only problem i had. Other than that it was really good. I liked the derpy looks on the caterpillar
Beautiful game with some really nice looking graphics! The NPC conversations was funny and the music was pretty chill. Also, the level kinda reminded me the tree level of Elden Ring, only much cuter :P cool stuff!
The only bad thing: Sometimes it gets quite frustrating to control because of the high sensitive camera movement, it could be tweaked.
Great work overall!

Absolutely amazing game!
Loved the graphics, dialogue was fun too, pretty impressive gameplay

Absolutely crazy you managed to do all this in the time limit! The movement was really fun and quite unique! Very much enjoyed wobbling about on tree branches :D also the dialogue made me laugh ahaha. I was going to mention the bug on the second branch and being upside down being a bit tricky, but seems that's been brought up. Overall fantastic little game! <3

The camera movement is different but it's good. The background is really beautiful with nice NPCs. The dialogues are funny. The audio is awesome. I really love the textures. :)

Hey that was really polished for a LD game. Intro cut scene + really smooth character control. Also you made the caterpillar model look like one smooth mesh. My only gripe was I was struggling with the camera controls to get it to twist around branches, but I understand that's a tricky problem. The character's and dialogue were great. Also enjoyed the game feel of the cocoon clamping on you. Overall, really cool work. I could see you using this caterpillar fella for more games (like imagine a swarm of these babies). Cheers.
This game is so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute. I cannot cope. If more time were to be put into the game I would say working on the controls early game is a must cause it was so frustrating.
I love it though, so much.
Well done!
Very funny and cute :) also super polished, I loved the little details like icons for the button press prompts and stuff. There was a weird bug I experienced where Josepi stood up on his hind legs like he was pretending to be human lmao. The dialogue was great and I would love to play Josepi again :D
Great graphics and fun dialogue. Buggy but fun.

I love the feel of movement and the game is just beautiful! I really enjoyed the setting and the dialogue in particular, it's a really fun premise. I had a couple of issues with the camera but when I try to think about how to tie together the camera and controls when you can walk in any orientation on any surface my brain melts so I think it works better than anyone could reasonably expect in a jam game as it is tbh! Great entry!

I like it, it made me smile a few times. Joke about hause on back was great. Movement was a bit difficult but bearable. Metroidvania elements (evolving) gave so much possibilities. I would like to see this concept extended with improved mechanics. Nice work

I've been trying to stick with web games, but this one looked so silly I just had to give it a try. I love the caterpillar animation and sly humor, but the camera controls made it really difficult to navigate.
Good entry overall :)

@mopifish I'm glad you gave it a go! Yeah the camera controls were a real arse to make, definitely a lot of work to be done to make that work with all the angles haha. Thanks for checking it out <3
A classic caterpillar-genre defining game! As other have mentioned, the camera controls are a bit iffy, for me it was overly sensitive. But the interpretation of the theme and the gameplay is great stuff! Good job!

My favorite game so far! It's fun and I am glad you didn't fully commit to the theme (cocoon isnt always bad, the game is doable and not bound to be lost). I also laughed quite a bit. Only feedback I have are the controls when on the ground; it gets quite confusing and difficult to steer when you're upside down.

A really great game! The movement felt good and the whole thing was a really nice, cohesive experience with lots of character. I liked the extra ability you get later on as well as it's like the game gave me a helping hand when I was struggling. Can't fault it tbh, really impressive, well done :)
Really great game overall! I laughed hard enough to accidentally spit on my screen a little...twice!
Despite slightly finicky controls as was mentioned, I actually had a pretty easy playthrough and didn't really experience any problems.
Crawling upside down got a bit awkward but I quickly learned to just do a full loop around and it went smoothly.
Excellent work on the sensitivity with the controller, I found it was tuned perfectly and didn't have much trouble controlling the camera.
Got a lot more fun once I got the wings!
Congratulation on an excellent entry!
Interesting little game. The movement was really difficult to use, I felt it really didn't want me to be under something. I like the idea though. Once I got a bit further the uhh, *other* movement felt better to use. I also found the mouse camera really sensative, maybe that led to my difficulty with the movement. Overall it was really cute though!

The visual design is impeccable I would easily play a full game like this if getting the little worm to go where I wanted him to wasn't so annoying. Gave up on the second level after getting stuck on the plank for 5 minutes. I would love to see what else the game has to offer.

@boykala Really sorry to hear you got stuck for so long - the upside-down controls are definitely a bit of a nightmare. As a hint if you ever want to give it another go, if you go through metamorphosis twice (and fight it off) you get something that makes navigating around when you're stuck much easer ;)
Thanks for checking it out and your nice words though <3
Fit the theme very well. Super creative. Loved the dialogue and the character dynamic. The movement felt very... caterpillar. Great work with that! The wing flapping felt good too. Awesome entry. Impressive!
I loved this! Writing was endearing and made me laugh, and I love Josepi's face. Cute take on the theme, and the movement was fun to mess around with. Hope Josepi comes to terms with himself over the course of his personal growth journey.
Loving the chill vibes. I thought the crawling animation was really well done and semi-metamorphosizing really nailed the theme there!
This was a delightful experience! The graphics were nice, the movement felt clean, and all the bad jokes really added up to a well-rounded game jam entry.
You did mention the movement was a bit buggy, and I will say that when moving along the underside of something it was particularly noteworthy --- it felt like the controls were reversed sometimes, and it was difficult to recover from certain spots. But hey, it's a game jam game, it's not going to be perfect.
The slow metamorphosis mechanic was interesting, although I think it would have been neat if the wings didn't make crawling completely obsolete. Maybe you moved faster while crawling so it was still worthwhile sometimes. The levels were designed very elegantly where there wasn't all that much stuff, but still enough nooks and crannies holding muffins that it was worth exploring the edges.
Nice work for 72 hours!
Really fun! Enjoyed the experience a lot, the sound effects, the lines, and the characters were very funny. The controls got a little wonky when you went on the underside of things but other than that it was a pretty well rounded up experience, good job!
Well, that can I say. Yeah, the game's a bit buggy or weird to control but it makes up tenfold because it is really cool! It's cute, funny, generally enjoyable. Not much more to say here, other than keep it up! Excellent work!
Mate, this as amazing and hilarious :joy_cat: unfortunatelly, I have an issue with mouse sensivity - it's really hight. Btw, It's my problem, game is wonderfull and well polished!

Yo, cool game. I got till the third area, but became a butterfly then lol. I also played with a keyboard and mouse and not with a controller since I don't own one. The art is great overall and the catterpillar is really well animated. I did have a bug ( pun intended ) pop up where only the last segment of the catterpillar was crawling while the top and the remainder of the catterpillar was sort of upright. Along with that, whenever I tried turning, I could see each individual segment of the catterpillar separate and turn lol. Not a problem tbh since you said that the game doesn't really support keyboard and mouse that well, though it did kinda hinder me a bit lol. Apart from that, when the catterpillar was working as it should, it looked just like a catterpillar with some incredible animations and was an absolute joy to control. Great job on this entry overall
Fun to play and an interesting concept. I'm genuinely impressed with how well the body grips onto things and works. The only thing that made it a bit frustrating for me was the camera/ movement combo, that lead me into some situations I absolutely couldn't decipher what direction i had to press to keep going forwards.
An awesome entry! It was very fun. The dialogues and the general humor of it is really good. Though camera is a bit clunky. I think character is also connected to camera so controls gets a bit weird also. But once I get the wings, controls got a lot easier.
Also I loved that you let me ate that all junk food at the end. A nice touch of satisfaction :D

Very good movement mechanic! and the dialogs are hilarious :joy: But as a french person I am offended that you qualify croissant as "trash" food x)
In some spaces (like the end of sticks, most often) the camera or the character would go crazy and it would be really hard to navigate. I would also get stuck in some angles.
Otherwise, that's a good entry  good job!

I play with mouse and keyboard, although the control feel a bit out of control, honestly, it just adds to the fun and depth of the game (crawling under a platform is really a challenge). I'm amazed by the concept, graphics, and gameplay that you manage in such short of a time. Very cool, great work!
I love the atmosphere and the absurdity of the premise. Controlling the caterpillar and camera could be quite difficult; my caterpillar head got stuck in the air for much of the game, and he wouldn't eat some of the food no matter how many times I went over it. But I still had fun crawling around; I could see this being a fun and relaxing game with some polish.

GENIUS! Great theme! The mechanics of the game pleases as well as the graphics!
I REALLY liked the game! I like the way main character looks like, humorous indeed. Very cool level design, mechanics and character design. Everything is so freaking cool! Can't believe that you did it on your own. You are genius!
Good game ! Really funny concept and dialogs ! I really liked the models and the UI style. But yeah, I couldn't finish the level 2, got stuck on a branch. The cameras controls really need to be polished, they are impossible x) But anyway congrats for the entry !
Really interesting movement mechanic, I really wonder how you implemented that ! Cute overall design and clever and lighthearted take on the theme, loved it ! great work

@antoined73 Oh no! Sorry you got stuck and couldn't finish, that bug is really annoying but sadly couldn't fix it in time for submission. If you wait to evolve wings then you can unstick yourself, but thats a bit of a tedious workaround 😅 thanks for checking it out anyway and your nice words!
@forgin-bits @max-hyper @Wainini @wolderado @exopunk @shawn-beck @cobgoblin @yusovv @oleg-bone @jeremy-ryan @stalemeat Thank you all for your compliments, it means a lot <3!
@gibberingtaylor haha oh no, that sounds like a nasty bug that I didn't actually come across! How bizarre 🐛 glad you had fun anyway!
@Kemsou I'm so sorry about the croissant, I love croissants really <3 glad you liked it <3
@chusmimax Yep, the camera stuff can get really frustrating - I spent hours at the end trying to fix it but the maths behind the orientation hurt my brain too much. Hopefully I'll fix that in the future!
@badpiggy haha thanks for checking it out, and all the feedback <3 that bug sounds super weird, I haven't seen the separation thing myself but I'll keep an eye out for it 🐛 and thanks for the puns, they are the real treasure here
@niklas-zhaga Haha thank you <3 yeah the sensitivity can be a bit crazy with the mouse, I realise I dialled it in with my mouse but mine is pretty slow 😬
@fusionnist Thank youuu, and thanks for taking the bugs 🐛 in stride ;)

It's very hard to make a good control of a character that can move on surfaces on a 360° fashion, whether it be on a jam game or not. So GG for that! I liked the ambiance too.
I loved the look of this game! Josepi's beautiful face completely caught me off guard the first time I saw it. Also generally, nice work on the lighting and color palette. I did find the controls difficult to work with as soon as I tried to walk on the underside of anything, so I ended up flying around everywhere on the later levels, but the movement was fun when it worked. Josepi's little caterpillar walk made my day!
Great job on a humorous fourth wall breaking npc, a common trope but I think it was well done here! Thanks!
Original and funny entry! i like the use of the theme, the graphics and music, only see a few things like camera collision and maybe some smoothing in the braches but overall nice one, good job!
That was great! (I also tried to make a caterpillar game for LD once, and it did not go well)
The caterpillar looked and controlled really well including the flying mechanic. There's something about moving on walls that's just super satisfying. The lighting and music created a nice atmosphere and really added to the joy of slinking around the world as a caterpillar.
My only criticisms are mainly the technical issues you're already aware of. The camera clipping through the ground and the character being hard to control in some situations, like when upside down did detract a bit from the gameplay, but these are minor issues in an otherwise exceptional jam entry
Love the concept and artstyle!
My only real constructive feedback would be that the mouse is a bit sensitive.
